    My Review: mynexttablet.c...
The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 is the first Chrome OS tablet. While it is aimed at the education market, everybody can buy it. So should you? It offers a nice 9.7-inch display, a decent performance and, actually, Chrome OS is awesome. However, it does not seem to be ready yet. If you like to experiment, yes, go get the Acer Chromebook Tab 10. Otherwise, I would suggest you wait for the next couple of Chrome OS tablets.

maybe a plastic chunky body allows for a bigger battery and allowing school IT departments to REPAIR it

matthew s Yep, and as a result, it won't run quite as warm as my 2018 iPad, either. Thinner is not better.

Another thing is, I use Snapseed on my 2018 iPad, but to download my Nikon NRW (RAW) files for processing, I first have to use Adobe DNG Converter on my Lenovo Thinkpad to convert them, then I have to use Apple's SDHC card reader dongle to download the converted files. Since the Acer runs the Android version of Snapseed and has its own SD card support, at least I won't need a dongle to download my files. I'm not sure whether my NRW files are downloadable to Snapseed without conversion to DNG first, but we'll see.

I think this is the first review that understands the product, and gives a proper review of it
    - every one else was comparing it with existing pad's and laptops which it clearly is not.
--- and forgetting that Chromebooks are manageable with Google admin console.

Ok review but the reviewer could not lose his consumer point of view for this tablet which is geared towards education. Every point of criticism he mentioned is a plus in a school setting.

The stylus storage/charging solution is brilliant. Makes far better sense than the iPad's handling of the Apple Pencil

I like Chrome but from everything I've seen about this first attempt tablet, I think I will wait for the second or third version. Also would be nice if you could use other pens with it, such as the wacom. While this is a groundbreaking device aimed at the education market, I can see it in for the at home media consumer as well. That's why the cost startled me. I already have the Acer 2 in 1 flip that, though clunky, works just fine. And I paid a bit less for the Acer too! It would be nice to have an easy to hold tablet though, so I will continue to watch the market. Thanks for the great video!

any WACOM EMF pen/stylus should work with this tablet, so if you can find a larger wacom pen it should work. if you want a larger more comfortable stylus

What some people don't know is that Chrome OS on this tablet is similar to DEX on Android

The part most people dont understand is the management of devices for school. Ipads are the worst. These are so easy to manage with google admin and we need tablets for pre k - 1st grade. This will have a decent shot at fitting that role. Got my hands on a demo unit yesterday and i was pleasantly surprised by what it can do.

its now over a year since the Tab 10 Chromebook was released...
chrome os might have been updated 8 times .... what new changes
... is the operating system better suited to the Acer Chromebook Tab 10,, now?

I was wondering the same thing. I've seen it refurbished on Amazon and Newegg for around $160. It's tempting at that price. But then again it should probably cost that much brand new so I don't know.

really excellent review, sir. Not a lot of non-biased reviewers out there; most are over-the-top and breathless. You are quite refreshing. Question. Can you link to the keyboard you are using in the review? Thanks

This Chrome OS tablet is way better than I expected I love Chrome Canvas the pen works great. I often get updates. The only problem I have is that a dongle is needed to transfer data. Don't let people discourage you from considering getting it. The battery lasts a long time.

At only a year old and $179 Amazon Renewed, sounds like a bargain compared to my 2018 iPad.

Google has no part in the hardware of this tablet. They only make the OS. Including the pen was a design choice by Acer, not Google.
