    If they have a Panglacial Wurm and a Ashnod's Alter, you can sac all their creatures

      I figured this was gonna cover the "look at hidden zones" part but I admit I had no idea you can't "fail to find" if the search effect was generic.

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel
      @ThisIsACommanderChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For sure. It's just one of those cases in which you can't fit that much text onto the card to explain everything (like with Protection from...).

    I tend to go for NeCROpotence as opposed to NecroPOTence since I link it with Omnipotence in my mind. I'll have to keep in mind that I can peek hidden zones while OppAgenting, don't think I'd taken the opportunity to look at their hand before.

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel
      @ThisIsACommanderChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a handy way to get a snapshot of what's coming your way. Just a little bonus perk to the main reason you run Agent. Oh, and I sort of bounce back and forth between pronouncing it either way.

  • @andrewrockwell1282

    A good topic. Does it change a bunch of things if they have a panglacial wurm in their deck?

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel
      @ThisIsACommanderChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm pretty sure that WotC made Panglacial Wurm and also that GW Selvala just to be used for really complicated situations in Magic. I've mostly avoided the Wurm because it doesn't really see any play in Commander and I mostly try to keep the series about things that you are likely to see. Maybe one day I'll get to a video dedicated to the Wurm.
      But short answer is yes, you can put it onto the stack if they have the mana available as the text of the Wurm basically grant it the ability to be cast during a point in the game when players don't normally have Priority. But you wouldn't be able to do anything else beyond that as all other normal game actions would require you to have Priority.

  • @bouboulroz
    @bouboulroz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Alright, but can you make your opponent remove their pants with Opposition Agent, or do you need the controlled player to have priority for you to make them take that action ?

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel
      @ThisIsACommanderChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sadly, you cannot. Not quite an action governed by the rules of magic. But hey, that's what rule zero is for I guess.

    • @bouboulroz
      @bouboulroz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThisIsACommanderChannel Wasn't there a ruling made during an un-set tournament regarding Hurloon Wrangler ? IIRC it was something about removing clothes being faster than activating mana abilities.

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel
      @ThisIsACommanderChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bouboulroz Yeah, someone tried to attack with the Wrangler and would have been unblockable, so before blockers the opponent tried to remove his jean pants. WotC had to send out an updated rules to judges that for Un-games, the rules and laws of the location that the game isntaking place trump the rules of Magic. So, of you're at a location that let's you take your pants off (like someone's personal house), then that's a legal game action, but if at a public location that requires pants (like a school, library, or LGS) then no pants is a no-go.

    This comes up alllll the time at my store this is a useful video to keep on hand. Thanks! Could you do one on Sphinx of the second sun? Lots of people get that card wrong( me being one of them)

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel
      @ThisIsACommanderChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha! Yeah, that card does confuse a lot of folks, not so much on the what it does, but it seems to the the when that it does it. I have been thinking of a new series that is a sort of "Yes, that's actually what that card does" series, like how people can use Reconnaissance to pull creatures out of Combat and untap them after damage has been dealt. If I ever do that, SotSS will be an easy contender.

  • @kiwifruit7738
    @kiwifruit7738 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Love the video, didn't know that I could look at the hidden zones while searching the library.
    Could I make a suggestion for a future video? I made a deck to force a draw with Jon irenicus and many people get confused with the rules when I give a card they have to sacrifice like dandân and I force a draw. Maybe is too niche of a case for a video.
    Anyway, love your content and I hope you have a great day

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel
      @ThisIsACommanderChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ah, yeah, Dandan has a special kind of Triggered Ability that is called a State Trigger and they are prone to creating neverending loops. Probably one of the most common I teractions with State Triggers is when people try to counter the ability of Dark Depths with something like Stifle. Technically yeah, it gets countered, but then the state is still true so the game just does it again.
      Could easily put together an episode on State Triggers.

    Hi there!, just one doubt. When i play Opo Agent and i am controlling my oponent, can i exile as many cards as i want, or must i follow the indications of the tutor. Lets say teh tutor allows my oponent to search "a creature" then i understand that means "one" creature. Same as if it says "2 basic lands", or "up until 3 cards" etc.. I mean i must follow the restrictions of the tutor card... I ask this, cause otherwise i feel it would be too much...

    • @ThisIsACommanderChannel

      You'll have to fallow the laws of the search to the T and only exile exactly what they tutor was able to search for.

      Nope, CR 718.6 prevents a controlling player from forcing a controlled player from conceding the game. Also, a controlled player may still concede a game while being controlled.
