Rear Shocks Install and Upgrade for Harley Davidson Sportster 1200

Thanks @RazzInMiami for suggesting this very much needed rear shock upgrade for my 1997 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200. These Progressive 412 shocks are 13" with heavy duty springs which raised the rear fender about an inch or two.

Just looking at doing mine... but do I spend big $$$ and buy the External reservoir 990’s or stick with a more basic 430.

How much ground clearance did it increase on the bike.? I want to change mine, it scrapes on the speed bumps.

I hope that's not grease you put on the bolts. Loctite is what should go there. Very different thing.

I was noticed your mechanic piled tools and parts on the seat and clanged the shocks together removing them from the box.
