I zero in on vintage jewelry at the local thrifts, so this information you have shared is priceless. I feel like I went to a classroom course watching your video. I think it's time for me to invest in costume jewelry books and guides and start learning this stuff. Thank you!
Omg this is so educational thank you, I moved into a smaller place so I have to sell smaller things like jewelry. Knowing the terms of things I'll be able to describe them better in my listings
I am just loving your videos! Your "history lessons" are so fascinating. I mean, I never would have guessed that some pieces of costume jewelry are actually valuable. I won't pass up those fancy baubles at the counter ever again without taking a second look. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom!
Very informative video, I have been collecting jewelry for over 10 years and just recently I was forced to start Selling some of it. I would usually buy from estate sales or auctions and never thought about looking for marks and all of that stuff . Watching your videos has brought some light as to what I have and how to price things. Thank you very much .
where are YOU?????? You are ssssooooooo experienced in this realm that I have always found immensely fascinating. I am a child of the 60's-70's. I saw so many of these jewelry growing up and truly these costume jewels were so well made.
My dear cousin gave me two trays of vintage costume jewelry to sell on ebay for her. I found your videos (1&2) highly informative and realistic. Thanks, looking forward to video #3.
Thanks for that awesome video.I always love to learn about stuff I dont know anything about.I had to restart the vid and get my resale binder to take notes. This is the #1 reason I love this community,it brings so many different types of knowledge to the table which ultimately benefits everyone if they pay attention. Thanks!!
I appreciate all your videos. Have been looking for things to keep my eye out for when garage saling this season and you've given me a lot of great info.
I always wondered what they meant when they described their jewelry as demi parure on Ebay. Now I know! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Love the intro style to your videos also. Very classy.
These videos are great! I've learned so much in them. I am just starting to get into Ebay full time and this information will really help me. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us!!!!
Thank you, Lady Vintage, for these two instructional videos! I sit here at 5 AM, getting ready to go do what I always do on Saturday morning, go rummage through OPJ (other people's junk), learning so much from these vids. I come across jewelry ALL OF THE TIME, but never knew what I was looking at. There are two women who show up constantly at the same locations I am at, always buying jewelry. Maybe with your help, I can cut in on some of their profits for myself!
Love your very informative channel. I've been watching just a little while so I'm glad I have more to go. What will I do when I run out of episodes? I guess I can start over. There's always something I miss the 1st time around. Keep up the good work! Thanks for sharing.
Yes maam, the reseller binder is a must.I have everything in mine from ebay marketing tactics to a section on stuff I know very little about like MCM furniture, and now that jewelry in your video. Thanks for that awesome video.
I found some beautiful Vintage Brooch's last summer but really sold them far too low a price now will try to remember Weiss...will have to watch this again and take note's!!! Thanks!!!
Fantastic info. I hardly ever wear any jewelry and I know next to nothing about it. I have had a stash of old/vintage jewelry in a box for years that I know nothing about and was thinking I would give them to my daughter to play dress-up with. I guess I need to check them out first :-)
@cherryvintage - Thank you for this! I have a trove of high end costume jewelry that I would like to get into the hands of someone who is expert at assessing and selling. If that’s you, or someone else, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks again! - Chris
I would love to know more about how/what to do when we get something that is missing a few or a lot of stones (if it's a really good/rare piece and worth the effort.) Also, what you can do to verify the maker of an unsigned piece (for example I have a pair of stunning, OLD Juliana chandelier earrings--but no mark.) Also, if you can explain more about how to make the smart picks, what tell-tale signs to get excited about, countries of origin--which are good/bad, also red flags to avoid at all costs...etc. Thanks so much for your help and time doing this. You have a wealth of knowledge and a calming voice.
Another excellent video! Another term for a pin/brooch/pendant is 'Enhancer', that is, it enhances a chain or necklace. Surprised to learn that Lamoge pins don't sell for more on Ebay. Wonder if Etsy is a better venue for that brand?
This is a great tutorial, and I especially liked the fact that you spoke slowly, so I could take notes. I really aplaude you for taking the time to share your knowledge with others. Do have any other resources that you would recommend for pricing Costume jewelry? Also, I have a few questions about pricing my pieces for and arts show. Do you know of a good place to find pricing for that situation? Thank you again for your wonderful videos. Great job! Jeanne
I am excited about learning about costumer jewelry so I am looking forward to these videos. I recently acquired my first Lisner. However I need to replace a rhinestone. How do I go about matching the size and color?
Hi CV, you reputation proceed you by miles! Thanks for the wonderful video! You are more or less the only one I can ask about this so... Do you know about the electronic sewing machine, New home Xr-VII? If so, if it is clean and good working condition, how much would you ask for it? Thanks again!
Owls started becoming popular again because of Harry Potter and then they took off on their own. If I have items that are missing stones, I can usually find a stone to match and replace it with one of many jewelry glues. Cute little Calypso pin/brooch. I have several little weirdities that Daddy sent Mama from the South Pacific during WWII. Very touristy! Mama had some of those enamel floral brooches too.
Hi, Great video! Thank you for sharing this information and your experience in selling vintage costume jewelry. I've run into a few unsigned pieces that most likely are Designer because of the quality workmanship. I try to bring that out in my listings do you? Also, cameo jewelry seems to be very interesting to many people what do you think? By the way the book you recommended is really good and helpful. Thanks again, Rayne
Thank you for all the very useful information! I will be watching your videos a lot. I have a request. I was wondering if you could speak up in your videos. It's hard to hear you at times. Thanks again.
Thank you! I hope you can turn your volume up on your speakers because I wouldn't want to speak louder than I am because I would be raising my voice louder than normal conversational tone.
Hi CherryVintage! I hope everything is going well with you! I was wondering whether you are familiar with vintage luggage. I've got 5 piece set of 60s skyway luggage set. Was going to flip on craiglist at like $100, but saw the smallest bag on the set are being traded at 100$ on ebay. Where do you think I should sell what I have and what would be good price?
Hi, I was wondering your opinion as to what you think a full set of Judy Lee 'Forget me not ' signed, in excellent condition would be worth? I have the earrings, but could buy the necklace and bracelet too and the have a full set! Just wondering if it'd be worth the money?
Hi, to do the research on that, check Ebay, also check websites that sell vintage jewelry.Google both Judy Lee Forget me not, then try just vintage jewelry. When using Google also try clicking on the Google images tab.
i have several beautiful old clip style brooches...how to tell if platinum and diamonds? took one to gold buyers they thought real..but did not buy.. if have "p" on it..is that plate or platinum?
J Giltner my opinion of dr Lori is : she knows her stuff, charges way too much for an appraisal, and she also rates the value much higher than the market you will be able to sell it in, if at all. Personally I don’t care for her sense of humor, and she rambles on and on. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though. I have been in the antique business over 30 years as a buyer and seller. I’ve managed six antique malls, so I do have a little experience.
great finding you. I've got a large amount of jewelry I've been selling in my fb group for a couple years. I'm very happy to have found your channel because I just registered for my ebay store and I'm very nervous about it. your tips are great and I've already learned a lot. I have a set of those crown pins and the gems and pearls fall out easily. I was going to repair one of them with pieces from the other. I run a fb group called Vintage Jewelry Lost &Found. it was originally meant for pieces which are defected in some way. but now I have people buying and selling all kinds of vintage jewelry, assemblage pieces and art made with vintage jewelry. like those framed christmas tree. please check us out.
Where do you do your research? I'm curious because I own a ton of vintage jewelry and after watching your videos I want to find out more about what I have! Thank you so much! b
I have a vast quantity of clipon and screw type earrings. Would it be worth my while to convert these to pierced earrings? It seems that no one wants to buy clip ons.
Probably should have called this, information on costume jewelry, because I don’t feel like you are teaching us how to sell. Great info, tho. My best to you.
Told my mom so hard! Animals sell! I found this pretty brownish gem type of butterfly necklace. My mom wouldn't buy it cause she thought it was ugly. She's helping me start up my eBay store, but that also means dealing with her shit when she doesn't agree with me making me lose potential money. Instead she was like look at this necklace its better. Mom. Its flimsy. Cheap as shit. And stained on the back. I'd be lucky to get $5 out of it.
You seem to have a respectable amount of knowledge about the subject of vintage jewelry. As a long time collector and online dealer, my question would be why on earth you are still selling in EBay?? EBay is a great place to buy but a terrible place to sell. You might as well give your jewels away. I would suggest you move on over to a reputable forum like Ruby Lane. Just saying....
I would love to see part3. This was really great. Just watched part 1 and 2. Thank you.
I zero in on vintage jewelry at the local thrifts, so this information you have shared is priceless. I feel like I went to a classroom course watching your video. I think it's time for me to invest in costume jewelry books and guides and start learning this stuff. Thank you!
Excellent info and good photography as well. Many thanks!
The little calypso number is to die for!
Omg this is so educational thank you, I moved into a smaller place so I have to sell smaller things like jewelry. Knowing the terms of things I'll be able to describe them better in my listings

Thank you for your knowledge I have a couple of those hat pins with stones or glass
I have subscribed. Just trying to learn about this. Very well done and informative. Thank you!
My dear cousin gave me two trays of vintage costume jewelry to sell on ebay for her. I found your videos (1&2) highly informative and realistic. Thanks, looking forward to video #3.

Amazing Video! You are awesome for sharing! Thanks so much!
Where did you go? I hope you’ll put out more videos again!
I was actually looking for a sweater clip to go with my Peck & Peck cashmere cardigan.
:-)
Fantastic info. I hardly ever wear any jewelry and I know next to nothing about it. I have had a stash of old/vintage jewelry in a box for years that I know nothing about and was thinking I would give them to my daughter to play dress-up with. I guess I need to check them out first :-)

Really helpful! I have boxes and boxes of rhinestones I'll have to go through 1940s to 1950s. Maybe I'll have to start selling again. :)
Did you sell them? 😉

I am new to selling jewelry and was wondering if I should list items as a auction instead of buy it now ? Thank you .
what a great video
Cameos can also be carved from hardstones too
Do you ever re glue stones into older pieces? I have two brooches I love the shape of but they are missing most of the stones.
Hi CV, you reputation proceed you by miles! Thanks for the wonderful video! You are more or less the only one I can ask about this so... Do you know about the electronic sewing machine, New home Xr-VII? If so, if it is clean and good working condition, how much would you ask for it? Thanks again!

Great video more please ;)
what are stick pins for? I have a gold colored one that is not getting attracted to magnets.
You wear stick pins on your clothing pretty much the same way as other pins.
What mis the difference between dress clips and shoe clips in vintage jewelry?
Thank you for all the very useful information! I will be watching your videos a lot. I have a request. I was wondering if you could speak up in your videos. It's hard to hear you at times. Thanks again.

How can I get a appraisal for my jewelry, I can send pictures of what I have?
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Google Dr. Lori antique appraisals, she does them for around 60 usd online.
J Giltner my opinion of dr Lori is : she knows her stuff, charges way too much for an appraisal, and she also rates the value much higher than the market you will be able to sell it in, if at all. good!
Before you list something on ebay, do you clean it? If so, how do you do that? My first thought is to use toothpaste with a soft brush.
O.K. Got it. Thanks!
Parure 3 in a set
I have a vast quantity of clipon and screw type earrings. Would it be worth my while to convert these to pierced earrings? It seems that no one wants to buy clip ons.
