  • This is our 2nd visit to the Moon Palace Grand in less than a year. We love this property and couldn't resist the draw to return again. The property is one of the largest in the Cancun Riviera Maya region and does require some longer walks or waits for golf carts to transport you around the property. The food is very high quality regardless of buffet or restaurant. Service is wonderful, pools are everywhere to fit anyones taste. The Water Works park is one of the best anywhere and add the Flow Rider for added benefit. While this is not a budget option, we have found fairly good pricing options with promotions that the Palace resorts has been offering this year.

    Hey there! We have watched a couple of your videos on the resorts there in Mexico. We have been to The Grand at Moon Palace about 7 times now both with our kids and just ourselves. We've also been to a couple Secrets resorts (Akumal & Capri). We are getting married on April 1st this year and are completely torn between The Grand at Moon Palace & Secrets Maroma Beach for our honeymoon. We are curious which you would choose and why???

       @TravelNoBS Hey there! I was just wondering if you had a response to my comment above?

    • @TravelNoBS
      @TravelNoBS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply. For me, I would choose Secrets Maroma Beach as it is an Adults only AI, plus it is a little smaller resort with very upscale service levels. The other resort you should check into would be Excellence Playa Mujeres if your looking for an awesome experience and high level service. I feel the rooms at Secrets are just a little nicer than what we had at The Grand. We also love Secrets the Vine in the Cancun Area!

      @TravelNoBS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, the Beach area at Maroma is a lot nicer than the beach area at the Grand. If you like chilling at the beach and spending time in the ocean, Maroma is much better.

      @@TravelNoBS Awesome! Thanks for the reply. We actually wound up booking at Secrets Playa Mujeras. We got the nicer suite right on the ocean and lucked out as it was the last one and sold out! I'll let you know how this place is too!

      We've heard many good things about Planet Hollywood but haven't been yet. However, we have 6 kids that we bring to the Grand almost every summer from age 12-21 and they all have so much fun!

    • @TravelNoBS
      @TravelNoBS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will be honest and say if I were to choose one over the other, I would probably book The Grand for sure. The level of service and overall vibe are just a step or two above Planet Hollywood. In terms of value, Planet Hollywood is excellent.

      I'm being quoted 6 grand for 6 nights, so yeah it's pricey but you get what you pay for! Gourmet dining at all restaurants, full waterpark, activities for kids, lazy river, flow rider, night entertainment, fancy cocktails! and if you want a beautiful beach you can just go visit the Beach Palace in the Hotel zone and enjoy that sister resort with beautiful turquoise colored water. If you want a similar resort but a little bit on the low end you can try "Barcelo Maya Palace" at $400/night it's pretty decent.

    How was the seaweed? I think I saw some in the brief ocean shot. We went to the barcelo and it was 50/50. Half the time it was fine and the other half it was not.
    Edit : I see part 2 covers this. Honestly it's really dissapointed that this seaweed issue is plaguing certain Caribbean locations. Totally sucks because the ocean is so nice and warm.

      From my point of view, travel in Mexico is safer than in the US. They take many safety measures to ensure safe travel (covid wise). We've been to Mexico 5 times in the last years since covid came about and each time it's been to a different resort (Well, except for coming to The Grand 3 times with and without our children). Can't wait to go back there in a couple months.

    • @TravelNoBS
      @TravelNoBS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We went in mid November. I believe the resorts are taking great care to provide cleaning stations, added measures to prepare rooms, and even serve food. They require masks at all buffets and as you enter or leave restaurants. Always be cautious, but we have not have any issues.

    Uuuuugh was enjoying the video until I saw the masks. The whole reason we are going to Mexico is to feel as free as possible and not even think of Covid

    • @QueenOfOverdoing
      @QueenOfOverdoing 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Covid is in every part of the world, including Mexico. They also need to protect themselves from the thousands of people from various countries who come to visit their beautiful country to "relax and not think of covid". I've traveled numerous times to Mexico to different resorts throughout the last 2 years and none of them are uninviting due to the workers wearing masks and they take the utmost care in keeping all their guests safe.

    • @TravelNoBS
      @TravelNoBS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is not enforced too well, but always better safe than sorry. Realistically you only need to wear masks when entering or leaving restaurants.
