- I wanted to travel from Boston to Springfield, MA using only public transit - no Peter Pan, no Greyhound, no Amtrak. I also wanted to try out CT Rail. In this video, I attempt to loop around New England going to Springfield and back using the most public transit that I can. With a couple of tight connections in the schedules, this was sure to be a fun challenge.
Full route, as originally scheduled:
7 00 AM MBTA Worcester 1503 to Worcester
8 50 AM PVTA B79 to Amherst
10 50 AM PVTA B43 to Northampton
11 50 AM PVTA G73E to Springfield
2 20 PM CTRail Hartford Line 6455 to New Haven
4 05 PM CTRail Shore Line East 3034 to New London
5 36 PM Amtrak Northeast Regional 88 to Providence
7 25 PM MBTA Providence 1814 to South Station
Awesome video would love to see more vids like this.
I'd never thought I'd see the PVTA in someone else's video but here we are
I call that my home! Center of Massachusetts north of Worcester
Ik this video is so old but I've driven the PVTA bus 3301 in the thumbnail. I love the hybrids ❤
Hartford Union Station looks like Wilmington Delaware Station
bro the guy over the announcements on the Shore Line East sounds like Joe Biden, 30:00. But aside from that, what a cool video! I gotta try taking PVTA sometime, I have a some family friends out in Northampton so maybe I'll try then.
I Wish Dey Connect CTRail MBTA & PVTA Together
There have been talks for many years about extending the MBTA Commuter Rail to Pittsfield via Springfield
@@redsox1935 they should do less talking and more action
First!
