To stay in the spirit of your idea I am thinking of the wltoys A959 A979 ==> Brushless size 2838 (and maybe 2845) ; also A959B and 979 B ==> size 3650 brushless :-)
@@filsdedieu100 The A959 v/s A959-B or A979 v/s A979-B are basically the same, but the only difference are their stock motor sizes ... If you upgrade them to brushless you can install whatever motor size you want by only changing the motor mount .
What do you think about Surpass combos coming with 35A ESC? I bought a 2838 4400kv and it comes with 35a but seems that any combo with 24** or 28** series comes with 35A , it will be a problem? it's that enough? Even Hobbywing combo comes with 30A
You can also fit these 2838 motors if you want a light setup, but you only need to buy the smaller Wltoys 17T pinion ... the 3650 size motor is a direct fit since it is the same diameter as the 550 stock motor.
The best 380 size motor I used is the trackstar 4400kv. I run it with a 3S lipo. I just sold my Lc Racing and I purchase an old kyosho petrol 1/8 to convert it into brushless.
Suppose the relaton between rpm and KV is correct, the voltage decreasing is 7.95v-->7.65v-->7.50v-->7.90v!how is that possible?!😅.The logical explaination is : the efficiency of two surpass motors(4500kv and 6200kv) are lower…
True, some brands make less efficient motors than others ... and I think this is one reason why the most efficient motor in comparison (i.e. Tenshock X-1401) cost twice compared to the other motors . I also notice the same with my 3650 motors, the cheaper ones are always slower 😆
Agreed. The theoretical RPM is based on actual voltage of the battery not the nominal voltage of the battery. I bench SuppIy would make for a more accurate test. And you could also see the current consumption of the motors. It was still an interesting test. 👍🏻
Hi I have a Mavruck Ion xb 1/18 I’d like to updgrade to brushless but what’s the best motor to go for I want it to be very fast but not so it breaks it I’ll be upgrading the transmission to handle the speed but what’s the fastest motor you can get for a 1/18 Maverick ion?
Sorry I cannot answer you directly because I dont own that rc car so I dont know the final drive ratio. You need to consider many things like the gearing ratio, size of wheels and how many cells of lipo when selecting the motor kv to use for your setup.
On eBay I’ve found that the max curretn is 50amps and another eBay seller is saying 75amps so I’m not sure what current it actually uses as you’ve got it in the video so you know how many amps the surpass 6200kv 2838 motor is?
I just received my EZrun Max10 esc and tenshock 6850kv motor for my LC Racing truggy. I’ll let you know how it goes. I know that the esc will need a wedge to sit a bit sideways to fit right on the chassis.
It depends on what result you want to achieve ... if you want to run a cooler motor, and more run time for the lipo battery but does not need a very high top speed, then you can go for the lower KV motors.
@@fran.6496 I have other 3650 motors but some of them were already fixed on my other rc cars ... maybe in the future , i will make that video. Thanks for your support to this channel 👍
Yes, I missed to mention it ... the battery was at approx. 70% charge (7.90v) 😆 , but I generally refer to 2S lipo batteries as 7.4v since it is what manufacturers write on the label of their 2S batteries (this way we will not confuse the newbies) despite the fact that 2S lipos can be charged up to 8.40v when full.
Can you mention which model of 1/12 rc car you have ? I can´t recommend it on large 1/12 monster trucks, but it will be fine in lighter 1/12 buggies using small pinion gears
@@sakerhaljek9689 I dont have that model of rc car, so I dont know what Spur or Pinion gears is has ... but if the gearing is not tall, the 2838 size motor should be ok

The smaller ESCs are ok with the 24 or 38 diameter motors as long as you dont use very high kv ratings
