I'd love to make a LC racing speed runner but where's the fun in that? Same as that limitless, its meant to go fast so watching that go past at over 100 would be really boring 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

    Normally when I start a new hobby, usuallyI start at level 10(pro), and work my way back to novice, and that's proven to be very expensive in the past. I been in rc over 25 yrs, but now I want to do speed runs, and for the 1st time I'm starting to at the lowest level, and the reason I went with 144001 is I'll probably destroy a few of em, and parts are cheaper, although it probably wouldn't matter much between the 2 little ones, but the limitless is gonna cost quite a bit to crash, and to equip with electronics. I see Birmingham Gt went 114mph with a 144001. That's my 1st goal. Having any kind of crash with a limitless at over a 100mph is gonna be expensive. I had to write all this out because as soon as you said, "if you want to go fast just start with a limitless" I was already online ordering one, and I had to remind myself, START ON LEVEL FOR ONCE, LOL

    I put an older LRP VSpec2 15x4 motor (34.100rpm at 7,2V) in it with stock pinion => 62.5 km/h. Runs awesome. More is not needed for a daily driver in my opinion. Motor gets quite hot after running one 1500mAh Lipo and directly after that a 1600mAh 2s Lipo at cool climate conditions. A potent cooling fan would definitely be needed in the summer ! Braking is even smoother than before. The sound of the motor, too. ESC did not get noticeably hotter than before. This car is GREAT for having fun with your old modified brushed motors !!!

    • @VallonesRCHobby
      @VallonesRCHobby  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No the truggy version is slightly bigger, 2850 in size as the buggy is 2838. I also would not go big on the battery as far as 3s. These cars can take 3s for sure, but to run it long on 3s is not advisable, so I stay in the 1500mah in size. Maybe someone on here has gone higher can maybe chime in, but personally I go 1500mah tops.

      You'll need to put a different connector on the esc. Unless you can find an adapter for the ec2 looking connector to deans or whatever your lipo's have. I would also check the esc for a jumper. Some of them have jumpers for nimh and lipo. If it has one, make sure you set it for lipo.

    I appreciate the value of the WL Toys products, but they don't last, period. Like you said, by the time you upgrade you've spent way more than you did on the Tacon and you WILL be messing up the drivetrain. Tacon makes EXCELLENT products. The fun of making it your own? I just got back into the hobby and at first i couldnt find a DIY kit. back in the 80s there was no hobby grade RTR kits you had to take the time and build it. When you were done it was a great feeling running something around that came to you as just a bunch of parts. I think in the late 90s early 2000 RTR kits got popular and i can remember people selling them for pennys because a grub screw came off the pinion or a brush spring fell off the motor and they no longer will run. They had no clue what was wrong other then it wouldnt work, It was kinda of a sad thing and i dont know if they ever got back into the hobby after. If you had the choice would you paint it like the RTR kit? would you use the same radio? would you go brushless or brushed? what about tires? would you put cool wheels on it or the plain solid color disk wheels? this imo is the fun of it

    Ok i have a scenario for you would really appreciate your perspective. Backstory is I am comfterbly poor but money is absolutely an issue. Getting back into rc after a long break so pretty much a newb. I have a decent charger already i bought a wltoys 206 evolution knowing it wasn't what I wanted. But allowed me to get a charger and a decent model. Would have lo ed a mini 8 or 14b Watched many reviews but was wery of long term repeated everyday use. Now have had the 1440nuber number numbers for about 300 minutes of pretty kind use and waiting on delivery of fresh diffs and riding on locked ones regrettably. But I am finding while mostly sturdy overall the the little fiddly bits n what have yous are just wearing and leaking and well generally pretty well expected all things considered. I am happy enough with the stock power at least for now. I have actually found the form factor and design of it perfect for what I want though. I am picturing myself paying so much in spare parts and downtime I should almost just abandon it to guest car status and drive a redcat blackout until I save enough spendable money to buy a lc tacon that I actually should have bought. The sc truck is just too clumsy and large to suit what I want to do.
    So i suppose my question is how sturdy the system as a whole long-term as a budget minded enthusiast. Is this thing going to cost more in parts and downtime fiddling and shimming and refilling etc. I love to wrench and fiddle but would prefer if my fiddling was enhancing or tweaking not trying to make it run like how i feel it should out of the box. Having never actually seen a soar live it is hard to say how much more polished and refined the fit and finish actually is. Anyhow sorry for rambling hope that makes sense.
    Appreciate your opinion thanks

    Come on! The WLtoys is junk. Do you get them for free? The metal on the car is paper thin and bends on normal runs. Metal does not mean good if it’s cheap metal. Also the electronics are terrible. If you did not know Banggood owns a large stake in WLtoys. The metal, gears, electronics are true hobby grade, the WLtoys is a toy.

    • @VallonesRCHobby
      @VallonesRCHobby  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I didn't get it for free dude, my channel is too small, under a year old, no one was sending me these at the time I made this video. The WLtoys would be considered JUNK if the price was double of what it is. It is not, it is under 100 bucks, there is not much that compares to it in its class. Show me a car that is pretty well built (yes I know, not as strong as the TACON, I mention this in the vid BTW) in this price point that can do 30mph out of the box with metal parts on it? Even the arrma voltage breaks at 100 bucks and can't even touch the speed of the wltoys. This car was probably one of, if not the best selling RC of 2020. Yeah it breaks, just like everything else above it.

    • @RA-bw2wp

      @@VallonesRCHobby first of all Banggood is a bad company. Many international consumer groups have cases against them. Won’t go far due to it being China. WLtoys is no magic company that makes amazing quality rc’s for cheap - you get what you pay for. Second - who cares about the paper thin metal bending & breaking parts on it. I had one, chassis bent by two runs and both shock towers and a shock shaft. Good luck getting the parts, so it either sits on a self for months or trash. Tried to order new parts from Bangripoff and after 2 months I called AmEx and the car went in the trash where it belongs. Metal is only good on a rc when it’s good metal. Who cares how fast it goes if it’s made of junk and parts could take months fromChina (Bangripoff). Actually one of the most durable rc’s is the XMax - all plastic. Plastic is better as it gives and does not break. A little wd40 on that plastic makes it great. I like all brands, but if you watch major TH-camrs like Kevin T, you would see that most stock metal chassis bend, even on expensive models. This WLtoys metal is useless. You need to make your viewers aware of the cheap quality no mater how fast it goes. BTW I am not a hard baser at all, so all the metal bending was pretty normal running. If you said this is a really good toy for the money, but the metal is poor quality and parts are hard to get in a reasonable time period, I would agree. Most other rc TH-camrs pretty much say this, ones with WAY more subs and views who seem to know more than you. Sorry I stumbled onto your channel, won’t watch again. You need much more knowledge.
