Here in Brazil this film was very successful. The theaters were packed and even today there are many fans the film oassa semore on tv Thanks for sharing these locations.🇧🇷🇧🇷
THIS IS GREAT 👍. I WAS BORN IN 72 AND THIS MOVIE GOT ME IN LOTS OF TROUBLE. I WAS YOUNG, WILD AND FREE WITH SCARS TO PROVE IT. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE MEMORIES.
great video ,great job...great memories you bring back to me...I was a teenager at that time I used to live in a barracks and fabric area in Buenos Aires broking windows with my pals ,we felt like the warriors we were 11 lads at the time...but we still in touch from time to time...thanx for this piece of art. nick......greetings from argentina.
Thanks for a wonderful series. I was 17 when this was filmed and being from Staten Island, I went to film school in NYC early 80s and visited many Manhattan locations.
MultiSweener That’s awesome! It’s a classic and then some... I actually have to get back out to Staten Island in future for The Godfather Locations... Can’t wait for this thing to be over.. I will get to Part 5 soon enough. Thanks a lot..
Cool video that barber shop looks almost the same 40 years ago even thought they modernized buildings can still see the resemblance thanks for another tour nick and a walk down memory lane🤙
on the rocks entertainment Isn’t that amazing? .. My pleasure bud! .. Many thanks to you for appreciating and watching. I will keep the tour going strong.
CAN YOU DIG IT?...I can!The first time I saw the Warriors was in the early eighties. It was one of those movies that really stuck with me for some reason🍇❤
Eating Grapes Haha Awesome! It’s so damn good yet so simple. That’s a powerful combo. The ultimate intention and obstacles commence in gritty fashion. The funny thing is, I didn’t see this for the first time until the mid 90s.
3:45 Maybe I'm making too much of this, but the door (today) where Mercy emerges from seems to have been painted a color VERY close to that of her blouse in the film!
@@NickP I first saw this movie as a re-run on tv when I was probably about 12. Introduced the directors cut to my son who is now 14. Lifelong love of this film --- I used to live in NYC and now live in MN so your showing all the places is definitely a big combination of nostalgia for me. Thanks for all of your work on this project!!!
Justin and Max Games That’s Great to hear and greatly appreciated! ..I discovered this movie a little late myself. It wasn’t until high school that I watched it for the first time. That began a bit of a trend haha
You missed a shot. If you stand on the corner of 45th, opposite Y&Y barbers, you can see the same angle of one of the shots used for the fire engine scene. There were 2 different locations for the fire scene. The 1st 1 is the empty space a couple of buildings around the corner from Y&Y. Lastly, that actually IS a Warriors paint tag above the barbers (there's other movie related tags up there as well)
I grew up nearby that train station also another great movie was filmed at that location the French Connection when actor Gene Hackman shot the bad guy by the 62nd St. exit
Fiquei sabendo por um amigo que trabalha em Hollywood que iniciarão em breve as gravações de The Warriors 2. Depois de 45 anos poderemos apreciar a continuação deste filme épico. Obrigado aos produtores e cineastas.

New Utrecht train station is also where the car-train chase scene ended in The French Connection. That's where Popeye Doyle shot the assassin in the back after the train came to a halt. The staircase where that was filmed is in the direction you're heading in at the very end of your video.
That station was a stage set for motion pictures. The Cowboy Way with Woody Harrelson and Subway Stories by Rosie Perez was just a couple filmed there along with The French Connection as Ronald H mentioned. There's another movie filmed there too but i don't remember which one. They were on the train in a scene and multiple clips showed the same background thru the windows trying to look like the train was really traveling. I was 8 years old when the Warriors was filmed there. That was my old neighbourhood. I lived 2 blocks away on 64th street. 3 am my grandpa walked me there to watch the filming. the fire department was there from the fire house on 60th street to put out the fire on the car and to also wet down the street for effect. The local Maffia was also standing around keeping an eye out as they did in the filming of Saturday Night Fever. Good old days.
@@brooklyncarmelena5755 - Yes indeed. Brooklyn has lost much of its personality over the years. Movie theaters all gone, clubs gone... mostly all co-ops now. 😢
@@ronaldh8446 I know so much has changed. I moved out of state 7 years ago because it just became unaffordable to live there. Everything changed. The charm of what once was is all gone now. Different cultures moved in, and the majority is filthy looking where I used to live. It's sad. Sometimes I just want to go home, but there's no home to go home to anymore.
Agreed.. This is one of my favorite parts of the movie lol. So good... I think I had the most fun doing part 6. Part 6 is done. I got delayed w Part 5 because I need the Union Station shots but the virus has held that up. I might release the last two parts out of order but I really don’t want to do that way.
This is Part 3 of what will be a Six Part The Warriors 40th Anniversary Filming Locations Tour. Enjoy!
