How did they do?😊
Indonesian are diverse, but I have doubt all of them are Indonesian 😅
Did you have to ask this question?
They're not indonesians. Shame on u! This is like a jamie oliver version of everything.
Made nasi goreng or acted like Indonesian? FYI, I considered people who was born and raised most of their life in the west as Westerners, no matter what their race or ethnicity.
The mom with the tofu and ginger: Indonesian fried rice do NOT use ginger at all, plus I understand tofu is a substitute for meat but we do not use that. Plus, egg is VERY common, if not to say a must.
Make sure the mums or dads you use don’t have allergies or intolerances. It feels a bit unfair to judge a dish you can’t really eat.
I was just about to say this very thing!
white people being white
Being allergic to everything
I agree! Especially if it’s a common ingredient in the dish.
Agree. It's their job to taste everything.
do they not know what they’re eating before they sign up to do it? (genuine) bc surely you’d know the dish well and the potential for it to be in there 😅
Every Indonesian Nasi Goreng I have ever had has had an egg.
Me also. In Indonesia included
These weirdos don’t even look like theyre from Indonesia lol
@@zaihussain9069.. they're not weirdos, and ppl eat food from everywhere these days. Ppl live everywhere too.
@@Changelingheartthe title says “Indonesian mum” sherlock
Ok 😊
I like the blind taste test so people taste their own food as well.
Interesting 🤔
I'm not Indonesian, but i live in Indonesia. How is it possible that my Indonesian language skills and knowledge of nasi goreng and rendang exceeds theirs? These imposters, and yes I am using that word, don't know how to pronounce the names of very commonly consumed dishes and don't have basic understanding of food presentation. Of course a sunny-side egg comes with the nasi goreng. it's called nasi goreng matasapi.
D1 hater
@@Johnweely and rightfully so
"Indonesian mums" where? 👀
In Indonesia, you put the nasi goreng into a bowl to mold it and turn the bowl upside down into a plate. You put the fried egg on top. You have cucumbers and tomatoes on the side. It usually has a red colour because there's a chilli or tomato sauce. You need chicken and veggies like napa cabbage and maybe kangkong or water spinach. I'm not impressed.
Oh great. These “Indonesian mums” again. Including Jenny, the one who called palm sugar “gula melaka” and used shrimp paste in her rendang. 😑 Surprise, surprise, in this video she calls sweet soy sauce “kicap manis” just like a Malaysian/Singaporean would 🙄
Are you trying to tell me that you couldn’t find a single Indonesian lady in the whole UK and had to resort to using a woman who cooks Malaysian dishes and passes them off as Indonesian? I don’t think she even used _kecap manis_ in her _nasi goreng_ and that ingredient is what makes Indonesian nasi goreng “nasi goreng” 😭 She even says “bagus” about a dish, that is such an ang moh thing to do because they think “bagus” can be used for food as well, like “good” in English.
She's Jenny from da bLOck 🤪
@@Kerem-mf9oylmaooooooo
Damn that's sharp observation
Yeah
The title should be not indonesian mum
never heard peanut butter is an ingredient for nasi goreng here in Indonesia tho…..
Are you sure they are Indonesian? 😮
the way they pronounce Nasi Goreng is suspicious
Indonesian here, I think they are not having Indonesian look
I think the second mum is
No Indonesian would pronounce Kecap Manis as Kicap Manis like that 3rd mum. She has got Singaporean twang with her British accent 😂😂😂
They're British Indonesian
I knew it. They ARE NOT Indonesian.
I'm not sure they're Indonesian 😂
The last one who eat with fork is very suspicious
Lol the accent is weird also
Just see the ingredients i doubt they are indonesian
@@farrrfarrrrawaydia besar di negara barat ( US) yang hanya tau garpu dan pisau untuk makan. 😄😄
They're British Indonesian
Why do persons take part knowing they have dietary restrictions? They can't judge the dish fairly if they can't taste all parts of it. Nice video though 👍
Sooooo no chance we can have the Nigerian guys and the Indian guys back for one last hurrah? I just need the humour back.
😂
Absolutely 💯
Yess please 🙏😩
Most nasi goreng has eggs. If they're Indonesian, that's not how they pronounce Nasi Goreng
They're definitely not fluent in Indonesian and not growing up in Indonesia.
yeah its weird they didn't know eggs are usually in nasi goring. Am not Indonesian and even I knew. lol I dont know about this episode..
They're British Indonesian, you hear their accent of course they would butcher the pronunciation, they probably don't speak bahasa Indonesia as well.
2:32 "kicap manis to make it a bit more salty" first of all, it's kecap/ketjap manis, not kicap. second of all, "salty"? kecap manis is hella sweet, it's literally in the name! manis means sweet in Indonesian.
They can't even say nasi goreng properly except for the Malaysian mom.
0:45 you don't know personally anybody serve it with an egg???? Everyone in Indonesia eat it with an egg (unless you have allergy ofc)
How is that lady allergic to seafood but still able to eat the rice that was cooked with seafood?
I like Shafali, I think she was very fair and humble.
😊😊
nasi goreng definitely comes with an egg. not always, but to say you've never had it with eggs is a bit crazy.
Hazze being só surprised by it made me wonder if she actually knows Indonesian cuisine or that by being Indonesian she thinks she automatically knows lol.
Im not sure they are indonesian. Their indonesian vocabulary is more like our neighbour than my fellow indonesian do 🤔
These are Indonesian-passing Malaysians😂😂
Definitely not Indonesians, I guarantee you. Even if they're Indonesian descendants, at the very least they know how to pronounce nasi goreng the way locals do.
They're also not looked lije Malaysian either. They looked like Americans 😂
As a British Born Indonesia I am baffled to why my mum and aunties were not invited on this
Are you sure they are indonesian?
Compared to how real Indonesians usually cook them, these recipes are quite out of the ordinary..
You are saying they don’t know what ethnicity they are?
@@deendrew36 they probably don’t, especially Jenny who keeps one saying things like “gula melaka” and “kicap” which are Malaysian words.
@@KilanEatsandDrinks so people can’t speak different languages and live in or be from other countries??
@@deendrew36 WTH does that have to do with anything? This is like a Portuguese woman pretending to be Spanish to participate in a video called "Spanish Moms Try Other Spanish Moms' Paella" and then giving it away by calling saffron "açafrão" instead of "azafrán". We can tell someone’s origin from the terms that they use even if they’re speaking in English or any other languages.
@@KilanEatsandDrinks who cares though…it’s a fun food video! I feel like we are splitting hairs here.
Traditionally in Nasi Goreng, it used to have eggs on top and not tofu lol. And since when we use peanut butter in nasi goreng?? We def don't lol.
They’re eating Nasi Goreng with fork, there is no way they’re Indonesians
MANEEE ADE ORANG INDO MAKAN NASI PAKE GARPUUUU wkwkwkk
And the way they pronounce nasi goreng and kecap manis. Like, no Indonesian say it that way... it irritates me so much
yep
You eat rice with a spoon. Lol.
@@alanjyu Yes, and? Where's the freaking problem? We do eat nasi with spoon or hand.
You cannot put Indonesian suit and be Indonesian. Tell that to your boss, Buzzfeed employee.
@@way9883 and your point is? Because that's my point.
I must express my uncertainty as to whether they hail from Indonesian origins or were ever graced with the privilege of being born on Indonesian soil. Permit me to elucidate on certain discrepancies in their discourse:
1. Never have I chanced upon nasi goreng embellished with:
- tomato paste
- ginger
- peanut butter
- lime
2. In every rendition of nasi goreng, an egg must undeniably be present. In the Indonesian realm, a procurement of nasi goreng bestows upon one the option of selecting either a sunny-side-up or an omelet.
3. Nasi goreng, by its very epithet of "fried rice," inherently boasts a modicum of greasiness. This is why numerous Indonesian street vendors complement this dish with pickled vegetables, such as carrots or cucumbers, eschewing the inclusion of lime.
My musings lead me to believe that both the expositors and yourselves could benefit from a more discerning selection process in identifying the rightful arbiters of culinary authenticity
I’m really furious when the title of this video mentioned “Indonesian” mum, but none of this mom are Indonesians! Let me list the flaws:
1. What makes nasi goreng nasi goreng is Kecap manis. Sorry, it is what it is.
2. No one says “bagus” to compliment food.
3. The R is Goreng should be trilled by tongue, not rolled like in English.
4. I never saw nasi goreng with a lime though, looks like Thai fried rice.
5. There’s always an egg in fried rice
Advice for the team, if you can’t find real Indonesian mum, just make the title as “fried rice by Asian mum, and it will solve all the issues mentioned.
To be fair, I believe they are ethnically Indonesian but they live in the UK maybe some born and raised there. That can cause a lack of knowledge for the authentic cuisine. But I haven't seen it as bad as in this video...
They're Indonesian ethnically but nationalty is English. We have similar stuff here in America. Like Koreans who aren't originally from korea
I kinda think reason 2 and 3 are unfair.
It doesn’t have anything to do with cooking nor rating foods.
Whenever if they are or aren’t fully Indonesian, they dont have to act 101% like authentic Indonesian on International channel food videos .
I don't think they're Indonesian born and raised.
The way they said nasi goreng and kecap manis is not Indonesian. And which Indonesian put peanut butter in Nasi goreng.
@victoriaanastasia420 nah, Jenny is using Malaysian word and accent. How come she is Indonesian but not knowing Indonesian word and perfectly knowing Malaysian accent and word?
This might be the nicest "mums try" video I've ever seen. Everyone gave very constructive criticism and fair scores, rather than just bashing and lowballing any dishes that weren't their own as some mums have in the past.
Isn’t that great!!
How come adding kecap manis will make the dish more salty 😮😮😮
Like come on 😭
Correction: these are english mums not indo mums .. and we do have eggs served with nasi goreng here in indo :O
Since when nasi goreng uses lime and ginger? Im not sure they are real indonesian. Tofu in nasi goreng is killing me….😂😂😂😂
I've always been given tofo on the side of nasi or mie goreng when in Indonesia
@@vilia-k2u the lady probably watched Jamie Oliver Egg fried rice video before she participated in this video 😅
Not a single hater. Love them
Positive vibes
Wait what. Indonesians do tell do you guys don't put egg in Nasi Goreng. I've had it in India many times but all of them has an egg on top. Not the sunny side up one more like a fried egg I reckon.
We do. They are very common, sunny side up or fried omelete. There is a joke about restaurants often putting a single egg on Nasi Goreng, calling it Nasi Goreng special and charging extra for that damn egg.
@@baskorobhanu9589 I see. The 2 of three women in this video didn't have egg so I thought maybe we are getting the wrong one.
Are they really Indonesian though? 🤔
Peanut butter on nasi goreng?
Are the Indonesians in the room with us!? And that one that never had eggs on nasi and doesn't eat seafood please dont invite her back
@@urmwhynot agree, she's woefully ignorant.
I don't think they're purely Indonesian, because the pronunciation of nasi goreng itself and the ingredients are very different. Plus, every Indonesian nasi goreng have to have atleast egg that is somewhat friend into the rice or just basically fried egg ontop
If you're surprised that your nasi goreng has an egg on top of it, have you ever eaten nasi goreng before?
so random but is it just me who thinks hazze looks like the asian version of evangeline from nanny mcphee 😭😅
As an Indonesian they are not Indonesian espcially the way they prounced nasi goreng was like how a bule would say it 😂they giving me more malay/singaporian vibes, but the third girl looks kinda eurasian
Are you sure they are indonesian? 🤔🤔🤔
Already know who is the winner based on how they pronounced the nasi goreng
No wonder they say "making food look appetizing on film/pictures is difficult" I mean look at the presentation of those plates!?! BuzzFeed when you know better, you do better.
Well tbf the mums plate the food themselves, it’s supposed to be authentic to them
Nasi GoRANG
If you’re allergic to meat, don’t be rude to other mums ffs “I prefer meat”. 🤡
Could you make the same content with the real Indonesian mom?
I feel like only the chinese lady is possibly Chindo (Chinese Indonesian) or the only one Indonesian in there. NEVER. IN MY LIFE. Have i seen indonesian fried rice served with a lime or with a BLOCK of tofu. What in the heck??
I don't see anything that looks like Nasi Goreng among these dishes.🤣
what do you mean peanut butter in nasi goreng????
nahhhh man they cant even say nasi goreng and indonesian properly we dont claim them 😅
Yummy ❤❤❤
wdym nasi goreng with tomato paste?????
Sorry but I'm slightly annoyed that they are using forks to eat the nasi goreng. The spoon is right there. Honestly please. We are Asians.
they re not Indonesian mums😅😅😅
Hazze's dish didn't look like proper Nasi Goreng at all. The rice... what the heck was that.
They are not indonesian, their pronounciation of every indonesian word is wrong. NONE OF INDONESIAN EVEN WHO LIVE ON ABROAD PRONOUNCE NASI GORENG LIKE THAT
I'm half English half Indonesian I was like ROLL UR R and ITS KE-CHAP CHAP NOT KE-CHUP
None of that comes close to an Indonesian nasi goreng. And adding peanuts? Cardinal sin
Mereka nyamar jadi orang Indonesia kah? Pengetahuan tentang makanan indonesia saja tidak tau
Nasi gorengnya disandingin pake jeruk nipis 😂
Nasi goreng pake jahe 😂😂 lucu sekali mereka
Ibu2 indonesia asli yang pasti menyajikan Nasi goreng akan rame disanding kerupuk, acar, dan telur goreng
THEY R NOT INDONESIAN'S MUM
😂😂😂😂😂
WHY U LIE TO US
😭😭😭😭😭
I don't think they are Indonesia. Who put peanut butter in their fried rice? And lime? Never had lime in my fried rice as well.
The one who eat wirh fork surely doesn't know what real nasi goreng is. None of us eat with fork. Shes running too far from our ancestors.
Is Indonesian mums with us???
if they would be indonesian they would atleast pronounce ketjap manis or 'goreng' right
They're not even indonesians
is hazze wasian
I'm sorry, Indonesian mums who?
mereka ini indonesian mom yg pernah tinggal di indonesia atau diaspora yg dari lahir sudah imigrasi ya?
They're neither. Even diaspora indonesians can spell nasi goreng and kecap manis properly.
As a native Indonesian, im sorry 😢 i hate to say this but none of this "the nasi goreng" i know 💔
If our doing a Malaysian version please find real malaysian moms, the brits colonised us for so long so you better find real Malaysians.
I’m not even Indonesian, but I can tell those nasi goreng don’t even look authentic. looks so dreadful. Only the elder lady’s’ one looked good I guess
WHO THE FFFF PUT GINGER IN NASI GORENG??????
Nobody cooks nasi goreng with tofu 😂
Re-upload?
I loved all of they’re positive attitudes
Yeah 😊
kecap manis? more salty? hah? and its bahasa indonesia not bahasa, please correct it
Hazze is Indonesian? Hmmmmm...
Their Indonesian accent is weird. Doesn't look like Indonesian also 😂
Bagus is it not behasa, behase means languages
And bagus is not even the adjective we Indonesians use to describe the taste of food.... "Rasanya bagus" who says that?! smh if she meant "kerja bagus", then it makes more sense.
I'm half English half Indonesian no disrespect but learn to roll the letter r nasi goreng no it's nasi gorreng
This seems so lackluster like get my mum on here
Next time cast people who can pronounce the dish and the ingredients. This was hard to watch.
Yes the winner one indeed cooked authentic. The sunny side up is optional and in restaurants its usually how they increase the price.
peanut butter? what the...
They don’t act like Indonesians
Why are you eating rice with forks?
Loved this!!
Aside from their looks, these are not Indonesians by the way they're spelling "nasi goreng". You think your audience are just the westerners so you can easily trick them by putting fake Indonesians, eh? 😂
lmao why are they trying to cosplay indonesians? its so easy to tell if they're not indonesian
jenny's looked the best well deserved
Hazzie looks white
wasian
Are they Indonesian? That's not Indonesian Nasi Goreng. Peanut? Lime? Ginger? Oh come on. How they pronounce Nasi Goreng are too British.
Remember God loves you♥️!!
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Please repent, change your life around and live for Him🙏🙏..
He is coming back soon😊🥳........
Use me as the dislike button! Not accurate! They're not even Indonesian 😂
indonesians mums??
using lemon grass??
u lie
not that appealing nasi goreng to me... Uncle Roger may also be sad when seeing those dishes
Wtf pronounce kecap manis like thet
I can understand the sentiments of being frustrated and annoyed by not having even one authentic Indonesian nasi goreng served here, but I'm really surprised at people actually being downright rude. The 'nasi goreng' are done by UK citizens. Surely this would be a tacit understanding that true local Indonesian authenticity would probably not be found and highly influenced by generic Asian cooking styles. Prior videos by Chinese mums had already shown that authentic cuisine isn't a thing. The Chinese mums try each other Chow Mein video had one mum's dish serving sweet potato noodles with Vietnamese meatloaf. That's certainly not typical Chinese noodles and certainly not a Chinese sausage. Chinese mums try each others' fried rice: Salmon fried rice with seaweed isn't Chinese style but Japanese. These titles were not Chinese Mums try each other *Chinese* Fried rice or *Chinese* Chow Mein, and this video's title isn't Indonesian Mums try each other *Indonesian* Nasi Goreng either. The amount of vitriol for not being Indonesian enough is wild. If a Malaysian mum served up Indonesian style nasi goreng, should I expect the same level of malice?
Lying is still lying. They are not Indonesian mums. Period.
