Richeese Factory isn't technically a fast food since you have to wait for around 15 mins for your order. But that whats makes it stands out compared to other fried chickens franchise. You got served a freshly fried chicken and a delicious cheese sauce over there.

pizza hut/domino’s in indonesia are like that jimmy, it’s not really your typical italian/new york pizza, you should go to a pizzeria for that. bcs we like our bellies full after eating pizza thats why it’s quite bread-y and full.

As Indonesian, I would advice you regarding the reason why you don't find it delicious when eating rice. You should combine rice, fried chicken, and ketchup on one spoon at the same time. It would fill your stomach and make the rice tastier.

Bahasa ibu orang2 Indonesia ya bahasa etnis asli Indonesia masing2.

I'm Indonesian, but spent my childhood in Malaysia. I loved KFC when I was growing up in KL in the early 2000s and the KFC in both countries are different (they didn't serve rice in KFC Malaysia back then) so I crave it whenever I went back to Indonesia for the holidays but I'm kind of used to the mash potato they served instead of rice in Malaysia. Ever since I went back to Indonesia I miss the mash potato they served in KFC Malaysia so when I just found out from this video they now serve mashed potato in KFC Indonesia, I have one thing on my bucket list for tomorrow

Popeyes just reentered Indonesia in 2022. They only have sweet chilli sauce in most fast food chains and you have to ask the servers/cashiers for the tomato sauce/ketchup. The fried chicken in KFC & McDonalds used to be bigger 7 years ago, they've sized it down. You're supposed to mix the float before you drink it, he servers didn't mix it for you.

Indigenous style cooked chicken is often 'dry' in hot humid SouthEast Asia because it will not go bad faster in the hot humid climate. Food is also more oily and highly spiced (Malaysia) or soured (Philippines and Sabah Malaysia) for the same reason. But you can find juicy chicken at places in Indonesia, especially Chinese cuisine (migrant part of population) created in temperate climate China's mainland.

McD chicken here taste different in every branch, also their ice cream, depends on the chef lol. & I realized if you buy McD french fries/chicken/nugget at midnight, usually it doesn't taste great. You should probably tried the local fast food one like richeese (you like spicy challenge? Try their lvl 5) or cfc for fried chicken. Jco for donuts. Hokben for Japanese bento. But you might be better to eat local food though like Padang food (including rendang, gulai ayam, ayam pop etc), Indonesia chicken cuisine (ayam geprek, ayam goreng serundeng, ayam bakar), soto, gado gado, martabak, too many food to listed😂

You are correct when you said Pizza Hut seems more like a restaurant than a fast-food chain. Due to their prices being higher than average Indonesian food, they modelled themselves as a premium fancy joint that you visit occasionally to splurge. They figured that Indonesians like denser, fluffier bread dough than crispy ones, so that's why the pizza is not crispy.
