    Steve, I have this compressor, and have owned it for a year and a half. A couple of months ago, I noticed coolant pooling under the compressor. It seems one out of about 20 have a problem with the coolant return line fitting to the coolant tank cracking and leaking. I think it's caused by over tightening at the factory, since this fitting is under no real pressure. The guys at AOA were super helpful getting me the replacement part ASAP and it was easy to replace, but the fitting has a brass nut which requires a really skinny wrench to tighten. Not a real problem, but it is a good reason top not run this unit on your carpet!

    Only thing is you didn’t mention the (if any) air filter. For that price price point a molecular sieve is a must and can be added for a nominal price. My Bauer has two molecular filters, but then again, it was nearly 3 times the price of your Omega. Looks like a good option for a second backup for me. In between my very dirty running Davv twin cylinder and the Bauer. That way I would only have to use my Davv in a severe emergency.
    Thanks Steve-O, Outstanding review as usual. I may pick one up 👍

    I'm using a modified $200 Tuxing auto-stop compressor until the unit can't be rebuilt. It charges my rifles from 1000 psi to operating pressure in less than five minutes. I believe manufacturers will tap in the vast demand for reliable, affordable compressors. The Benjamin branded Nomad looks promising and it will suit my needs perfectly.

    Yo Steve, I have had the Super Charger for about 2 years and haven't had to put any grease in her yet with about 130 hours on it. I was thinking about checking how much grease is in it and adding whatever is necessary. Why do you have to take the plug off the burst disk screw when filling? Does the grease level rise and start coming out of the burst disc cavity when full?? Thanks in advance … and thanks to you and Michael for putting your own money in the give aways for service men and women. You guys are great!

    • @AEAC

    Steve,
    A while back you did a review on the Omega Super Charger as part of your PCP fill guide. Which unit do you like better? Do you personally use any of these for your fills, or do you review them and send them back, while relying on scuba shop? Can't imagine that, but thought I would ask.
    The market seems to be coming out with lower priced options, and of course, the lowest of all, the Yong Heng for $300. Some users seems to like them, and have had no problems. Others have had complaints and issues right out of the box with no warranty or support from fly by night distributors.
    What is the warranty on the Omega's? Is AoA the only US dealer for them?
    Thanks Steve.
    ATB,
    Michael

      BeachGunner I've been running AEAC off the Superchager used in that vid and sold it 2 days ago with 49 hours on it. It's been flawless for me. I'm familiar with the Yong Heng... sold everywhere, Ebay, Amazon, Walmart etc... and have read all the forum exchange on them. I'm sure it's fine if you get a good one but too many don't. The Omega line is designed and owned by AOA. The warranty is one year but I've NEVER heard of one breaking, ever... knock on wood, lol. Steve

    pumped into your tank? You didn’t mention it and seeing the purging produce so much moisture just asking...

    • @AEAC
      @AEAC  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sabino S No moisture filters on this one. There was so much moisture condensing because its super humid here in Florida right now (77% at this moment) and I purposely had the outside door open 4' from the unit to show its moisture separating abilities. Best, Steve

    • @sell682
      @sell682 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel thanks Steve! Would be nice if one came with the unit for the price because moisture filters aren’t cheap $200-500 , and you don’t want to get that water in your gun. I would only assume if one can afford to buy a 2k plus compressor he/she are not filling discovery’s but potentially ; daystate’s , fx , RAW...ex

      I would say it really boils down to one thing; costs. I recently got my version from Walmart for $300 delivered to my door. The machine is entirely manual and, while apparently well constructed, is a fairly crude instrument in comparison to the Omega. You can see it here:
      www.walmart.com/ip/VEVOR-High-Pressure-Air-Pump-110V-30Mpa-Air-Compressor-Electric-Air-Rifle-PCP-4500PSI-Paintball-Fill-Station-for-PCP-Airgun-Game/200744514
      The Omega looks fantastic and I'm sure is made of higher quality equipment. I just think the average PCP air gunner finds the YH type product less challenging from a budget perspective.
      Please keep up the great work you do on your channel. I love watching your videos and the one you did on the Kral Puncher Breaker is what made me choose that airgun for a recent purchase. Your editing and presenting skills are excellent. I enjoy your eloquent style and concise delivery!

      You are or will be getting the same unit as I did. I've been very pleased with mine. I preparation I suggest you get a quart of quality compressor oil (W30 non-detergent in essence) and watch some of the videos people have posted if you've haven't already but, I bet you have :). I will tell you they are loud and the exposed metal tubing and such on the pump get hotter than hell once it's been running for a while. Don't expect much from the instruction manual, although I will confess their English is better than my Mandarin. One last thing; mine didn't come with any warning about what is considered a high temperature and I've chosen 65*C since I saw it on a tube video.

    • @wileydr
      @wileydr 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AIR Nashville thanks for that comment. I received the pump yesterday 5/4/18 and filled with the recommended ISO #46 hydraulic oil (0’Reilly AW 46) that thing is noisy about 80- 90 dB. Brought the Gauntlet from 1200 to 3000 in about a minute, didn’t time it but fast for sure. Yes the instruction booklet could use some improvement, but it’s English is better than my Chinese (and it’s only in English go figure). So far I think it’s a “WIN” purchase. Yes I think I will limit my temp at 60 degrees I have heard it mentioned more than once.

    Steve,
    as always you've given a great review. As I own the gray/black Super Omega Charger, I find no difference in the fill times. My low 90 CF bottle fills in 90 mins or less from 2600 psig to 4500psig. I always give proper care to it. I asked AOA about the fill times and they said it was always in specs. Perhaps you can speak of the difference between this new Red Super Charger and the older Black/Grey Super Charger, and how this one is better?
    I lubricate the piston shafts outside with lithium and silicon lubricants after each use. I have made the removal of the side panels easy to make such maintenance feasible.
    My rifles love the air coming into them, clean and dry. As an HVAC&R "guy", I know pressures well, and how to remove moisture in any air system. Please explain to us how this more expensive air pump is better than what I have currently.
    Sincerely,

      Jeff,
      I've had an Omega Supercharger in my possession since April of 2016 and have put 49 wonderful hours on it. It's an excellent machine but without question, takes 90 minutes to move my 97 cf tank from 3000-4500 psi (as shared in its video review in May of 2016). This Omega Turbo Charger I just received and reviewed for ya'll moves that same 97 cf tank from 3000-4500 psi in 28 minutes. Those are the numbers I personally got... they don't lie.
      Now if you have something to back up your ludicrous statement of publically challenging my integrity then let's have it, otherwise yes please do move along.

      Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel there is a big drawback, this model has no auto stop for anything under 4500psi but they have a auto stop for a few bucks more or you can mod it.

      Matthew Poole Cool, thanks. Has it been good for you? How long have you had it?

    • @carbide1968
      @carbide1968 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel only had for part of the summer so not long. I have to say so far it works good, also there's a few of your subs that had it longer and have commented below and like it. You might wanna review one. It would be very good for folks like myself with very limited cash flow.

    Need a 5000 psi compressor

    Would love you to review yong heng for us po folks... $2200+++ for a small bite size compressor. Ummm nope. Too rich for my blood forsure... It wouldnt even pay for itself. If i was able and/or willing to spend 2grand on a 4500psi compressor then id just go for The 120v Daystate for around $1800+++ tho and let her rip. Also you COULD even save a few more hundred by buying the Daystate Comp without the DS "name" by getting it from the actual maker of the compressor, who actually makes them and sold them to DayState to sell under their name at a markup ;)
    [Alot of products in the Airgun world are party to this occurance. Ive found a couple companies that tend to do this quiet often for example is Rugar, Diana, & Umarex... Im sure the list goes on and on and on and on...]
    Thats is All. Everybody have a Good One! PEACE!
