As a SCUBA diver I would like to warn you about the danger of putting an air tank vertically. We always lay it down, so it cannot fall over and break off the valve. If that happens you are in big trouble, 300 bar escaping at once is not a joke.

I seen some of the prices on some of those nice airguns they can get up there in price. If you plan on using a airtank for your airgun you might as well spend little more and get something like this to refill your own airtanks.
Let's say the Omega Super Charger costed $2000 dollars and if you had a retail store fill your airtank for you say for $15 dollars. If you bought the Omega Super Charger for $2000 dollars it would pay for it self after like 133 refills. If you take your airgun shooting quite often I would think getting something like the Omega Super Charger would be worth it.

I bought a Pyramid hand pump and what most new to air gunnery don't know is a hand pump takes a lot of strength PULLING as well as PUSHING! Attaching the hose to the gun is very sloppy. You lose air as you attach the hose. And couldn't they invent a wheel of some sort with a counter weight that would take the effort out of pumping? I was going to invest in the best air gun compressor on the market until I read that they break down very easily. The hose on a Pyramid pump is flimsy and you have to be careful not to break it. I ordered my second pump from Pyramid and the plate you screw to the pump looked like a very heavy stamping machine stamped large furrows on the plate. I sent it back never to do business with Pyramid again.

Hello Steve. As usual great video, tons of useful information. In addition to your airgun skills i'm highly impressed by your video making skills for someone who is not a full time TH-camr I don't know any airgunner who can beat what you do. I'm very grateful. I have a question and still didn't find any answer on the web. Filling your rifle with a pump from about 1500 psi to it's limit may take anywhere from 100 to 300 pump strokes depending on the cylinder/bottle volume, the max pressure and the pump stage. So to fill the rifle you open and close it's intake valve 100 to 300 more time than filling it with a scba which will open and close the valve only once per fill. Isn't that gonna wear out the rifle tank seal prematurely? What do you think? Thx ! Btw I'm gonna heavily contribute to spreading your channel it deserves way more subs and views.

Had a great interest in getting a PCP rifle for getting rid of pesky starlings, then I saw the prices, for not only the guns, but pumps (even hand pumps are expensive). Yeah, rocking a nitro piston rifle for thjat. Much cheaper and it does the job well enough. I know they aren't as tack driver accurate, but up to 40 yards I haven't missed a bird yet (and that's as far as I need to shoot for my barn and land layout). You really have to like and want to get into PCP shooting as that's a hugely expensive affair. I think the technology is very cool, especially some of the big bore stuff, but yikes, I can't justify the cost. I'll stick to my powder burners for big stuff. I'll still watch the videos though, it's definitely cool.

I dont know why you guys bother with air guns when you can use a nice .22 lr or cb caps if in unsuitable terrain . Airguns is all we can use in the uk without a lot of hassle, and then only 12 piddling foot pounds of energy. God bless the usa and the second amendment

@@annabeltheunicorn9374 I would love to just be able to use the .22, unfortunately, to use it on the Starlings and House Swallows means shooting up at an angle to pick them off a wire or barn roof. That sends the bullet off far into the distance. I do live on acreage and not many houses around, but there are a couple within about 3/4 of a mile in the relative direction I need to shoot. It's just not worth seriously injuring someone, or worse, so I need to use an air rifle. .22 CB would be possible, the problem is, you can't find them anywhere.

They are very aggressive and will kill local native species, take over their nests, kick eggs out of nests, etc. They are not protected here and practically every state encourages culling them as much as possible.

I thought that was wrong, funny thing is they are quite rare here these days and even starlings are not in the numbers they were. Raised on shooting starlings first with catapult and later air rifle. More satisfying thwop when you hit a starling dont you think? Sparrows ok but just a puff of feathers lol. Getting too old for shooting now but enjoy watching people who do.

Stop by with your SCBA bottle and ask for a fill, most likley you will be met with open arms and the crew will love to hear about your "very cool pellet gun". give it a try the worst you will get is an appology as why they can't do it.

I could tell right now, (min 15:50), the little red knob that presets the pressure set needle on the Omega suercharger, is not going to last very long. It seems his hand is exerting quite a bit of force to set the needle, (shaking like a lot of torque is involved). Little things tend to break over time with situations like that.

Great video and nice choices of what to highlight and the deliberate choice of changing background music was a good idea between the various options.
I was aware of all the products already so to me the real highlight was the omega compressor really, and in particular the short breakdown on expected regular maintenance in operation. That's a thing most other sources of information skim over with just a "low maintenance" statement.
It was high up on my wishlist already but based on that and not seeing too much bad rep on them around after they've been on the market a while I'm tempted to look into getting one eventually when it won't mean emptying my entire savings account. So for now the good old Hill handpump it'll be as primary source of compressed air.
I often wonder how those daystate compressors hold up against the traditional workhorses in that size category like Bauer compressors which I've seen used for diving and such. Still torn between for example the Omega one or a used portable/semi-portable electric Bauer compressor, both are in about the same price range depending on model and condition for me.
I also wouldn't mind the huge Dräger ones at the fire departments that I've seen while there to deal with some IT related trouble of their computers and air quality testing software, I'd love to have even just a fraction of that compressor equipment equipment or stockpile of carbon fiber tanks it's really neat stuff. A first stage compressor which fills up a tank larger than a typical bathtub to a moderate pressure which then gets up to the working pressure of the storage cylinders by the Dräger, those machines in operation are quite noisy but they tend to be in a room of their own a bit away from the fill stations so it's not too bad (when the doors are closed).
Being in a room like that is a bit humbling when knowing what kind of energy is locked up in those bottles and fill lines along the wall. When I was there at the time there were about 50-60 tanks in wheeled crates ready to be shipped out after they returned from hydrostatic testing and were refilled there, it's quite a difference from the usual filling setup in a dive shop.

+Extra stuff Thanks Extra Stuff. I know the Bauer name... it's a good one. But if you check out Coltri's site www.coltri.com/, you'll see that they are everything Bauer is and more maybe. Agreed on being intimidated by the compressor room at the dive shop. I got in & out of there as fast as I could... not to mention it was deafening. Thanks for the comment. Best, Steve

I own a smg .22. i have 3 hpa bottles for it. which i started out having a hand pump for it. it was a pain to fill just one bottle. so i bought a gx portable hpa compressor off of amazon for $380 u.s. dollars. The thing fills my bottles in about 15 to 20 minutes. i can fill all three in roughly an hour. and have around 750 shots i can get off before needing to fill them again. since the smg .22 comes with hundred round belts and can empty a belt in a matter of seconds, you go through bottles fast. i REALLY recommend the hpa compressor i got for anyone getting into hpa air rifles. the thing can be powered by a car battery. so when i am out in the woods, i can fill my bottles with my car and not have to leave to fill up again. its small and portable. It doesn't need any water to keep it cool too.
