Dang excellent vid Steve.....you outdid yourself with this one!!! Very thorough and spot on. 🙂
I've had the Nomad II for about 6 weeks and have put it through it's paces. Having this prior experience with the compressor, I can say with the utmost confidence that your review left nothing out and was 100% accurate.
Anyone new to your channel can trust the results you publish. I've watched just about all of them and find them extremely informative. They have helped me make well informed decisions on larger purchases.
    Thank you Steve. 👍

Most excellent posting.I've been racking my brain and wallet to try and figure out the most effective solution to be able to air up my introduction to this world of air guns.I've enjoyed shooting sports for many years and am now retired in a very not gun friendly community that is extending into the entire state it seems.Being retired goes to say too old to use a bicycle pump to try and fill the tire on my car let alone an air gun that I have yet to see by any manufacture say how many pumps it takes to fill one from new and empty but have talked to enough people that care if I have a heart attack to purchase some kind of compressor. On another note I live in a 2 story apartment and will not subject my neighbor to a compressor under his floor for my enjoyment.I'd loose my mind if it was the other way around so that's out. You have now given me a solution. I'll purchase 2 more tanks for my pistol and fill them all off of my car down by the park then everyone is happy including my wallet. I was going to buy a carbon tank and this compressor but now I will get 2 extra tanks for my AirForce that should easily cover my need to enjoy this sport without the wasted expense of a tank I can't fill..Thank you very much !!! ;(

Steve, I enjoy your videos. I have an Omega Supercharger and Several Omega Carbon Fiber tanks. The Supercharger has been a frustrating experience and I should have went with the Air Venturi. The Supercharger with less than 2 hours on the time gauge quit working. It has been sent back to Pyramyd Air for Repair. I have preordered a Nomad 2 in that it will be great for loading my several PCP rifles. Thus PCP adventure has resulted in my purchasing five Top quality guns with all available accessories. My latest acquisitions are a FX Impact X 700 .30 and a Ataman AP-16 with both size barrels and air cylinders. I’m building a Airgun indoor shooting station that will allow me to utilize targets up to 150 yards out. I will be able to from my indoor shooting station be slide open a large window and shot targets set up on my property. I’m looking forward to completing the 28’X 12’ nice shed/building that will contain my Airgun shooting Station and my Area set up for my Parked Harley Davidson XL1200C Sportster and Harley Davidson Cafe. It will be a great man cave that I will enjoy with friends.

This looks like a great charging compressor at a (sort of) reasonable price. Here's why I say "sort of."
I'm an aging boomer. I have been shooting air rifles for 61 years. I own a couple right now: a Hatsan 125 Vortex Sniper, and an Air Arms TX200. Both are .22 caliber.
I was looking at the Air Venturi Avenger as a first foray into both PCP shooting AND a .25 cal rifle. Charging, however, is the major hurdle.
I'm almost 70 years old. As you know, owning a home in Florida isn't cheap. We may not have huge heating bills as I had in Vermont, but cooling is another story. Once I pay for all the living expenses, there isn't much left from Social Security and a retirement check. So I watched this video with a high level of interest.
I was damned excited until I got to the last few minutes and saw that "Reasonable price" was almost 3X the cost of the Avenger rifle.
Conventional charging systems are worse. WAY worse. If I want to get a carbon fiber pressure bottle to have filled at a dive shop, I'm looking at $550-$700 for the tank. It is becoming clear to me that this is a rich man's sport.
BTW, I love the use of citrus as a support for holding the Nomad ll at a specific angle. THat is perhaps the most novel use for Florida citrus I have seen to date.

Good stuff. Just got mine couples hours ago but my buddies are topped off thanks to muscle power and I will have to do some shooting so I can use the compressor. BTW it looks and feels very well made. Even the user manual is in color and easy to follow. This compressor actually wasn't my first choice but the other guy recently raised their price by almost 50% . A nice FU to the consumer but this consumer went elsewhere.

Sorry Steve, I know Air Venturi is a sponsor but I had two, the longest lasted 3 days filling Hatsan 50cc cylinders(tiny) Both came shipped with water in them and I added pure silicone( no B.S. petroleum distillates) to no avail. Put the credit towards a new Bullpup. To all y'all askin' I'm just sayin'. Buena suerte amigos.

Hi Steve, I’m owner here and mine is doing great. Great review and demonstrations. One think in my opinion you forgot to mention is that if you are going to run it from your car battery’s you have to turn your car on, when I saw you doing this inside the garage I was OMG, but then I noticed you didn’t turn your vehicle on. Doing it like that could kill your battery, and you don’t want that to happen if you are hunting...

    • @AEAC
      @AEAC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Valid concern for sure but not a must that I can see. I took a reading before & after and one fill of the marauder reduced the battery's capacity by about 5%. Best, Steve

  • @robertmuir734

Bought one to fill my pcps. New to the game but very impressed. Compared to the water cooled units it is simpler and "cleaner" and much more portable. Not being rated for bottles is unfortunate but it means for those without bottles you simply dont need one. Also, from what ive seen the is one of the few (only?) That allows the user to add oil fpr lubrication while the others seems to be oilless. Without oil the wont last as long. Also, big thing to note would be its noise level. On the meter i have at about 3 ft or so it was hitting in the 80-85 db range and right next to it in the low 90s. Expensive but so far over probably 15 fills (not many I know) with 3 or 4 in one day I am very happy with this unit. No need to go to the shop for an air fill when you can do it at home or on the road any time.

Got mine. And was curious if my fill time's would be at or close to your tests, since I have 3 if the same rifles you did.
Sadly mine's much slower. Almost double the fill time's on each. I understand there's going to be variations between pumps, gauging, weather ect. But that's alot. It's always running in the low 20s on load. No leaks. Hate to call in to PA and complain mine is not running as well as the one they sent you to test. I have other compressors for rifles and for my tanks, so it's really no biggie. But now that I tested it, I'll be bothered it's not up to par as other's. I'm sure PA would not have any problems with exchanges. It's new. So I just might. Then again... The next one could be worse. Lol.

Design Engineers are amazing taint they? Sit compressor on something in the vehicle engine compartment, nice rifle also in engine compartment.....No Thank You!!
Go buy 20 feet of number six stranded copper wire and four crimp fittings and extend that inadequate short wire.
Now store it all in the rear of your SUV, or pickup bed, or on the ground and lay rifle on a blanket or something. Wire will now be long enough to avoid working in and around engine compartment. Also make sure you start the vehicle and let it run the five minutes it takes to charge your airgun. Another reason to avoid the engine compartment.
    Cheers
    Kit

would have liked to have seen you fill a gun from the bottom up and pushed this to it limit a little closer. The units have mixed reviews and I know some use them in a way they aren't intended to be used for (e.g. tank fills) some will have to fill their guns from empty so it would have been nice to see that demo'd rather than go easy on the machine to make it look good. Lastly car should be started when you use the battery.

Hey Steve, just don’t get it. Why buy a compressor that can’t fill a carbon fiber tank? It takes 4 minutes to fill your gun with this and 29 seconds to fill your gun with a tank. Then to top it off you really can’t fill your bottles or tanks with it. Who wants to wait 4 minutes in between shooting? Get a real compressor if able and a carbon fiber tank, or just the tank and fill it at the local dive shop.

I’m on vacation and I was having a good time target shooting and zeroing in my scope and this happen on the fourth refill that sucks. I’m disgusted 😡
