I agree some people I notice when guys especially they go slow on the way up, but they drop the weight. Well you need to work some muscle both ways is what I was always told Physical Therapy as a teenager.
We not only get very practical exercises and advice on how to do them, but a dose of encouragement and optimism from the get go with the ''never too late'' message. A big thank you.
Hello Ed. I am 62 and have had fibromyalgia for the past 6 years. I am now getting to the point where I can start exercising again, but I have to go slowly so I don't cause myself a lot of pain. I have started walking about a half hour a day when I don't have a lot of hip pain. I know exercise is good for me, but it can be hard to force myself to do it when I know it will cause me to have even more pain. I am also learning to play the harp and these exercises will help me immensely as playing the harp is very physical. Having good posture and upper body strength helps a lot. I do take breaks when practicing and my teacher is very good at teaching pain free technique, but I think doing these exercises will help me a lot. I also love to garden and re-finish furniture, so having good upper body strength will allow me to continue to do the things I love. Thank you for your videos. I am going to be following this routine and see how I get on. If you have any other suggestions for people with fibro, I would love to hear them as well.
Hello there, sound like you are on the right track! Remember to pace yourself with physical activity and make sure you add a meditation component to your routine, it will really help to decrease your muscle tightness, help you to relax, and boost your immune system. Elizabeth has over 70 free ones, check them out at www.expandingpathways.com/meditations/ Good luck, stay positive and keep on going!
I am 65 and suffered a fracture of my proximal humerus in four places including the glenoid fossa. I tripped over a small wastepaper basket and stumbled because I had flip flops on. I chose to heal naturally and luckily I have recovered without chronic pain. I went to physical therapy 3x a week for 9 months and almost have my strength back. I completely lost my grip from having my arm in a sling for 7 weeks. It’s amazing how quickly you can become weak. Now I am regaining strength all over because I am de conditioned from sitting around healing my arm. A little scared I can’t maintain. Your videos are invaluable. This one caught my eye because you mentioned grip.
Hello Karen, thanks for sharing. I'm happy to hear you are on the mend and getting stronger. Also, I'm happy that the videos are helpful. You’re the best when it comes to showIng how to do these exercises and explaining how many to do and how often! I’m starting my weekly routines and look forward to following your routines . ❤
I struggle with triceps. I’m glad you show us to just do one way to the time and support your elbow because sometimes you can move your arms were doing this exercise and that gives you a reference point.!!! ❤ thanks
Greetings from Ireland Ed! This and the osteoporosis video has been a Godsend. I need endurance for playing my harp and for my osteoporosis and these exercises are perfect. I can't believe I'm using weights even if only 1.5 kgs each 😀 My kids have been telling me for ages to use them. Thank you so much for your time and encouragement 😊 and your expertise. God bless you and yours. Kindest regards, Naomi Lacken
Hello Naomi from Ireland! You are very welcome 🙏🏼. Elizabeth and I have always wanted to see Ireland someday , we will stop by and lift a few weights together 😎
A few years back when I was doing physio with a water bottle one of my fine sons presented me with a homemade contraption made with a short piece of a straw with a washer either end and said ; this is for you Mom! Suited to a mouse! I hope you and your wife do come to Ireland 😀

I don’t see the link to balance exercises, but thanks for this one! I’m really working on my strength..doing what I can at home. (No gym for over an hour away) Thanks so much, Ed!
Morning Ed, these videos that you share here are perfectly brilliant, Thank you. They are building up my muscles and bones slowly. I have been practising your hip and arm strength exercies on alternate days, but when I get to lifting weights above my head I have decided to miss them out on my left shoulder as I have osteoarthritis and my elbow sticks out a lot. I have been doing some of your frozen shoulder exercise as they are the same as my physio gave me. Im not sure if I would be doing it more harm? What do you think. By the way I bought your book 10 minute Strenght Training, there are so many options lower strenght to more difficult, Thank you so much. I have a dexi scan booked for July l sure I will have better results.😊
Helping a little bit, but because I do mixed videos five days a week was thinking that shouldd I stick to say two videos for a few weeks then choose differnet ones for the next few weeks? You have so many videos I sometimes not sure what I should do becsuse they are all good
I like the way you give lots of options. In the last exercise you raise your head just a little but this hurts my neck is there another way perhaps standing?I do have osteoarthritis in my left shoulder. These exersices are great, so thankyou very much.
With the tricep exercise my elbow sticks out very much thatmy head is in the way, should i just do the good arm, or is there something else i could do? Thank you.
Hi Ed, I'm 66 and last year experienced illness resulting in weight loss (was already thin) and lost muscle tone, especially in my arms. I am well now and wanting to rebuild muscle and have started doing arm exercises with small weights. Is it possible to fix/eradicate loose arm skin from muscle loss with arm exercises? And can you show me some exercises please that will build some definition on my arms?
Loved these Ed can you plz tell me how do I manage such exercises with golfers elbows on both arms.... I'm genuinely interested please. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge :))
I am 66 in a week or so and have been doing exercises to lose some weight. Power walking/30 seconds/exercise. I also try to do some upper body weights, and trying to do some simple yoga. Wondering if you could suggest to me, with someone who is trying to lose some weight, but also wanting to build strength and be more flexible what kind of schedule I should adapt for myself? Thank you. I really get a lot out of your videos.
Hello Dianne, good job with all the exercise! I would recommend talking to a dietitian about the weight loss but one idea is to look in to intermittent fasting. I've been doing the "16-8" method which means I skip breakfast and try to get all my calories in to a 8 hour window. So it ends up being a 16 hour fast daily with a 8 hour "feeding window". Also, make sure you are getting enough protein to build muscle and retain lean muscle mass (my latest video th-cam.com/video/EPKe8dEtYls/w-d-xo.html ) Good luck!
1. Can I used water bottles all through out the exercise, instead of shifting through different cans? 2. Can I include my cardio workout also in the schedule you mentioned? It's a good work out. I look forward to the change.
@@FrontRowwithEd Ed, this is a good strength building workout. I did it today. I have suggestion (a request :0 ). It would be wonderful if you could record one set of 8 repetitions in real time. It would be great.
Thank God, somebody saying you can do anything no matter where you’re at even laying in bed, we must stay active to the day we die!!! ❤🙏. I have vertigo and it sucks because now I have a different type of vertigo messing around with me so I try to work on that I try to read and walk try that 😂🤦♀️
Sorry to hear about your stroke. However, the exercises should help, I would talk to your PT also to see if you need to make any modifications based on your situation. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Yes, try it standing up and see if you can find a more "neutral" neck position that doesn't hurt, good luck and keep exercising!
