    I am a professional harpist and now that I am older (72) I have noticed weakness in my arms and shoulders. This is fatal for a harpist! But I have been doing these exercises for a month and find good results. I often have to perform for up to 4 hours at a time but now I can do it easily. thank you Mr. Harlow!

    Thanks. I’ll be 55 this year and have always been physically strong due to genes and lifestyle (dogs, horses, ADHD and don’t keep still, hardly ever sit on a chair). So I have never been much for “exercise”. But a few years ago I got sick in Graves and over weeks I lost muscles to the extent that every bone in my body was visible. Scary. I got so weak that I needed to practice standing up straight and to walk without falling. I needed to be reminded of these simple trainings that can be done anywhere at any time, thanks!

      Address autoimmunity to heal endocrine function; it always has a root cause in poor nutrition base. Always.

    • @elisabethgronlund6842
      @elisabethgronlund6842 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@olderandwiser127 is that meant in a helpful way, or to guilt trip? I’m asking sincerely because English is not my first language and I’m autistic, so I might misunderstand your comment. I will answer from the perspective that it’s meant as a comment of concern. There are many reasons for nutritional and digestive problems, and not all are due to lifestyle choices. And on the other hand autism, ADHD, chronic pain and poverty/ low economic standard, might also contribute to not so perfect food choices. So from that perspective and in combination of trauma etc etc Graves might follow. But, according to my endocrinologist it’s more complicated than that to know why and how I got Graves. And why my case is unusually serious. She has consulted medical teams in Sweden and there has also been medical and research teams from USA and Germany involved. So my first reaction when I read or get similar comments as yours (and all other comments like why I trust doctors and don’t try this or that method instead) is to wonder how there are so many experts that knows more than university hospitals do. But, that’s my first response. Then I’m thinking that we all wish to help each other and that I myself probably give advice and share thoughts about things I may or may not know enough about. And maybe you are an expert in the field or at least have good intentions. Either way, next time, explain what you mean so it’s clear that you’re not just guilt tripping someone who might have not lead a perfect life and then turned sick in something that’s for most people nowadays isn’t a deadly decease under normal conditions. Because even if we do take care of ourselves we might get sick anyway. And some of us don’t sort under “normal conditions”.

    Thank You, I have been doing a variation of these excercises for several years and i would say I am physically strong, but I have lost some muscle tone recently due to a substantial weight loss, so I am currently in the stage of rebuilding. As a result of your demonstration, I have extended the exercises that I have been doing to the level of compound exercises and I can feel the difference.

    I use the wall press up technique. I also use push up bars against the wall to avoid damaging the paint (added tip there) from sweaty hands. 4 sets of ten to start. My large frame adds to the weight im pushing. In a month I have noticed the difference!

    Thank you, I'll definitely do as much as I possibly can. I was quite brawny as a young man, but now in my seventies I'm beginning to lose a lot and I don't like it. I've always been active and walked and always loved gardening which evolves a lot of exercise. I still push the mower and have quite a large lawn and garden. I hate the thought of slowing down, but have to accept it and follow your advice. Thanks.

    Hi Will - thanks for this! Just a. couple of questions - with the 'overhead' move - how do we hold a dumbbell if we are using one for this move? Also do we need to do some kind of warm up prior... or can we just dive right in to these?! Much appreciated...!

    Hi Will, I just discovered your channel and I like it very much. I'm 68, and I need to build my upper body strength so I can safely walk and control my very powerful dog. I have a rowing machine. It seems to me the first two exercises would work the same muscles that a rowing machine works. Is that the case? Can I work the same muscles with the rowing machine? BTW, I REALLY like the third exercise. I've been doing them as two different exercises, but I've often wondered if I should combine them into one exercise.
