Thanks - the positive reinforcement is really the best way for teaching dogs.
I'm so excited for my new Papillon puppy River (coming home in 5 weeks)! When he's old enough we'll definitely be working on awesome tricks like this. :)

I love your videos! Inertia is progressing at lightning speed, which isn't surprising! All your videos are informative as well as entertaining. A good sense of humor goes a long way, even with dog training.
I just got the Pupford treats in the mail today. My dog LOVES them! She’s much more motivated to learn new tricks because the reward is great! Thank you for recommending high quality treats!!
I bought the book and LOVE it! It is so easy to follow. Sometimes my kids and I will choose a random page and teach our dog whatever trick we land on. I like that it is built in progressions and really easy to implement.
That dog has its attention on its master throughout the whole video. Its eyes didn’t divert even for a moment. Implying a deep bond between them that makes the dog focus on its master only, like nothing else can capture its attention away from its master. Amazing. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I used to have a sheltie that LOVED learning new tricks. She would go through a whole routine just for one treat because she loved the tricks so much! And if I kept it too repetitive she would start adding to the tricks herself (i.e. I thought her to hold a treat on her nose and when she got too good at that, she decided, on her own, to toss it and catch it). Emily really spoiled me as far as trick training! Boy did she build my confidence though! ❤️❤️❤️
Just got a German Shepherd puppy at 8 weeks. I’ve been religiously watching your videos/reading your training book so I was ready. She’s so smart, training has been incredibly easy so far. Thanks for your tips and tricks!
As soon as I watched this video I bought his book immediately because I’ve been wanting to find out new ways to play and train my very clever shih tzu, she’s turning 1 this month and I really wanted to take advantage of her youth while I still can and she already knows all the basics (because she’s freaking clever) lol so thanks for this video!

How to teach a dog a cool trick: Step 1: Get a collie that already knows the trick Step 2: .... Seriously tho I have a lot of trouble teaching my dog to sit pretty because he's not a gooey collie who can already do backflips so I would have liked a bit more tips
I think every dog is different. You need to figure out what motivates your dog best. I have one dog who loves to work and can learn a trick after 2-3 tries - as long as I have a treat of some sort. Her sister on the other hand takes 20-30 tries to learn a new trick and is motived by real meat or cheese. Just keep working with your dog 5 minutes per day every day and it will come!
Hi! To sit pretty I usually make the dog sit and then I help them by taking one of the paws in my hand and slowly lifting it up while showing the treat as shown. When the dog starts to get the hang of ut I help him less and less and then he can do it by himself 😄 the helping hand really shows him in what direction to go and is good for a dog that hasn't got the muscle or confidence to to do it on his own. Has worked for me and my dogs so far 😄
Uh haha but I think the collie was an Aussie. And I kinda agree I wish it was Actually trying to teach your dog. But I am so gonna get the book for my poodle
@LunaBC they are one of the easiest dogs to teach though I have a viszla and although really smart she loses focus really quickly while collies wouldn't. As well as that collies are also in a way bred to be easy to train. They are ussaully trained to be shepard dogs which means that they must listen really well
Finally a new trick video! It's been a while since previous one with Sara Carson was published. I'm really looking forward to see more of this kind of stuff. Thank you!

God bless. 🥰
You have amazing videos and they have really helped me for training my dog who was not trained as a puppy and it was really hard to train him and then my friend showed me your account and it has helped me so much
We just adopted our girl Gracie whose parents both are blue ribbons. She’s very sweet but extremely smart and very flexible plus energetic. We thought doing some fun tricks like this would be fun for her we don’t think we will ever enter her in a dog show. But it’s fun to consider as she’s in the IOEBA which is part of AKC. But we love her so much you can see how smart she is. Within two weeks of adopting her she learned 3 tricks and 5 different training like stay, sit, wait Ect.
i wanted to teach my dog a trick so i chose bow and i though it would take days and days and days but after 5 minutes he already knows it and he’s a hard breed to train cause he’s a sheepdog, thank you!
My dog Kiwi and I are snuggling and watching this together. When we saw Vinny jump on Zach's back, Kiwi looked at me and I said no way. I only outweigh her by 40 lbs.
THAT IS FANTASTIC! My poodle is a *super* jumper. I'm spending all my training time encouraging her to keep her feet on the ground. This seems like it would be an awesome way to get some energy out, allow her to jump like she wants to, and get a rad party trick out of it! :D
Do you have any tips for how I can more easily translate the tricks that you show for small breed dogs? My dog is quite small, and I have a hard time using all the tips that you share. For example, the bow trick of this video suggests putting your arm under their belly, but for my little dog, this won't be so effective, even if using just a finger. I love love LOVE spending time with her, and she's showing such great enthusiasm, willingness and potential for picking up some fun tricks, I'm just personally having troubles translating many common tricks to suit her.
In a lot of your videos you suggest, "keep the training session short." What do you mean by "short?" 5 mins? 15 mins? 30 mins? Does it change by dog size or age?
I would say max 15 minutes. Otherwise the training may not be fun anymore. Personally if I’m trainging tricks I do only 5 minutes. His attention starts to stray after that long
I want that book! So much fun! I have a mini Aussie who’s almost 2 with crazy energy and extremely food motivated so I think she’s an excellent candidate 😁 Edit: just purchased the book! So excited!
Okay so these tips are super useful!!!! Now my 2 year old little dog can do pay down sit gentle. And almost stand and stay!!!! Thanks for the wonderful content
If you want your dog to do tricks for you.. I cant stress it enough. PETS FIRST. PERFORMERS SECOND. Probably the smartest thing ive heard from a trainer.
By far the BEST trick I taught my girl is the meerkat or, sit pretty. I call that meerkat🤗. She can hold that position for ages! We have a puppy soon and I'm excited to teach him the meerkat so they're both doing that at the same time.
I love this nook I've had it now for 6 or 7 years and have used the methods in this book to teach my two labradors almost every trick in this book and a few other books of tricks ad well we love trick training. My labradors are also trained as diabetic alert service dog's for me as I don't get any symptoms of a low blood sugar level at all they take turns coming with me each day to keep me safe they take turns so neither of them het burned out with coming out with me every single day even though i know they both would love to come with me each day and they love to work. When im out we often like to do tricks for people who we happen to see and meet when out and about and people love to see them and have fun watching the tricks if we share a few.🙂🐕🦺👍🦮✌️
I got ahead with my dog's training after reading Found out how to stop my dog from jumping on people. Learned that you quick turn your back on the dog when they jump and leave the room through the door. When dog finally stops jumping you give him a treat.
I just brought a new puppy home this week. He & my 3 year old dog aren't getting along very well at the moment. The puppy wants to play & he is jumping all over my 3 year old dog, & she isn't liking it (although it is actually what she does to other dogs when I take her for a walk lol). Have you got any tips to get them to get along & bond with each other?
My Little Dog, Know how to: Sit Pretty Spin Dance Walk ( Pound It /Fist Bump) A fun way to say hi, or Yay you did it! 😊 I’m still teaching, her new tricks. 💗
I taught my dog to back stall by using a washing basket with a broken handle and I would tell her to jump on that and then I lay next to it telling her to jump on it and then I put the basket on my back and get her to jump on it then I take away the basket and tell her to jump and then slowly get higher and higher

I have been binge watching your videos and Bear (our new addition) has been doing GREAT!!! He loves us already and thanks to you my family can be the perfect owners for him. Stay safe in the storm. God bless. 🥰
You have amazing videos and they have really helped me for training my dog who was not trained as a puppy and it was really hard to train him and then my friend showed me your account and it has helped me so much
Hey Zack, I love the idea of having guest in your video... Keep it up 😁
Never heard of Chris Penrodi before but this was really good.
These videos help soooo much my dog always listens now😊
My dog Kiwi and I are snuggling and watching this together.
Super fun video, and cool to see the perspective from a different trainer. He broke down a lot of info in a really short video.
When a dog jumps rope better than you🥲
That’s true but honestly great job! Love this video and that pup is so smart! Love all the tricks!💜
Yeah, y'all think my 120lb Newfoundland mix is going to stand on his hind legs? 😂
They just need to build some strength but this comment was funny lol
My pitbull it’s very too heavy she would have trouble with this
@@ferretunicorn838 mine too! i was hoping they would show more that didn’t use their hind legs :( i’m not gonna make my 11 y/o boy do that
I love it. My dog knows so many tricks thanks to your page
I love love LOVE spending time with her, and she's showing such great enthusiasm, willingness and potential for picking up some fun tricks, I'm just personally having troubles translating many common tricks to suit her.
omg I love both these guy. Makes me confident I can teach my dog these things
Vinny and Chris are amazing bravo 👏
Your videos are Ad's heaven!
'It's nice to see such an active and happy dog!!!!!!
I was able to add on the roll over after watching this! Great video!
Keep up the good work zak! Close call on that mounting dog
The bow is so helpful thank you!
Omg this is a dream come true
It’s a miracle. Thank you
I love these new dog tricks very effective
Gorgeous Border Collie. So smart too.
it's amazing. I am wondering though does sit pretty and stand up will be a strain on my big dog's hind legs?
for the pupford treats do you have to put it in the fridge. You guys are amazing at training!!!
I have a mini Aussie who’s almost 2 with crazy energy and extremely food motivated so I think she’s an excellent candidate 😁
Edit: just purchased the book! So excited!
Kori M buy it
Okay so these tips are super useful!!!! Now my 2 year old little dog can do pay down sit gentle. And almost stand and stay!!!! Thanks for the wonderful content
He also kinda knows up
(Which means up from laying down sitting)
@@PellowKityAt he/she prob trained from the past owner
If you want your dog to do tricks for you.. I cant stress it enough. PETS FIRST. PERFORMERS SECOND. Probably the smartest thing ive heard from a trainer.
Great stuff here, bravo Chris, would love to learn more tricks from you with my Afghan Hound.....
By far the BEST trick I taught my girl is the meerkat or, sit pretty. I call that meerkat🤗. She can hold that position for ages! We have a puppy soon and I'm excited to teach him the meerkat so they're both doing that at the same time.
Thank you for all your tips, a great video.
hell yeah!! thx ao much...allready looking forward to try this with CAPI❤️cheerio🤙
That dog can jump rope better than me! Amazing!!! You guys make it look so easy!!
Are the Pupford training treats ok for 8 week old puppies? If not, what age would it be ok for them?
Best TH-camr ever I looooveeeee dogs
Great video! Very funny!😂
Zak getting hyped watching others train dogs ❤
I love this nook I've had it now for 6 or 7 years and have used the methods in this book to teach my two labradors almost every trick in this book and a few other books of tricks ad well we love trick training. My labradors are also trained as diabetic alert service dog's for me as I don't get any symptoms of a low blood sugar level at all they take turns coming with me each day to keep me safe they take turns so neither of them het burned out with coming out with me every single day even though i know they both would love to come with me each day and they love to work. When im out we often like to do tricks for people who we happen to see and meet when out and about and people love to see them and have fun watching the tricks if we share a few.🙂🐕🦺👍🦮✌️
that was AMAZING!!! i am so excited to start training my puppy!
Dream team dog trainers right here
Chris makes it look so easy
I got ahead with my dog's training after reading Found out how to stop my dog from jumping on people. Learned that you quick turn your back on the dog when they jump and leave the room through the door. When dog finally stops jumping you give him a treat.
I just brought a new puppy home this week. He & my 3 year old dog aren't getting along very well at the moment. The puppy wants to play & he is jumping all over my 3 year old dog, & she isn't liking it (although it is actually what she does to other dogs when I take her for a walk lol). Have you got any tips to get them to get along & bond with each other?
Does bow and lay down get in each other’s way though?
Do pupford ship treats to Ireland
My Little Dog,
Know how to:
Sit Pretty
Spin
Dance
Walk
( Pound It /Fist Bump) A fun way to say hi, or Yay you did it! 😊
I’m still teaching, her new tricks. 💗
"Doesn't matter the age, breed or size"
Me: What about energy?
(My dog is the definition of energy)

I taught my dog to back stall by using a washing basket with a broken handle and I would tell her to jump on that and then I lay next to it telling her to jump on it and then I put the basket on my back and get her to jump on it then I take away the basket and tell her to jump and then slowly get higher and higher
