The great thing about this is you can tell she is trained correctly. She’s not timid at all and it’s obvious she’s having fun.
Thank you Thomas! You are correct! Jasmine LOVES doing tricks, and has a lot of fun doing them! I trained her using positive reinforcement- it's called "Clicker Training". So she thoroughly enjoys doing tricks because that is how she earns good treats! :D
@@MyFavoritePupJasmine Just from that answer I can tell you are a great pet "parent". Last year after a divorce I got my first dog since I was a child (I'm now 47!) and I had completely forgotten how much they can change your life. I, too, have spent countless hours teaching my dog tricks (not as good/as many as yours) and just like you said, he loves the treats and the attention and I'm almost certain I can see pride in him once he masters a trick and I know I feel it when he does! ha. I use treats and a clicker too. SO MUCH FUN! Thanks for sharing.

There are a ton of good training videos on TH-cam. Just search "clicker training" and the trick you want to learn. That's how I did it. :)

I have a cattle dog. We don't have cattle so he was getting bored and his herding instincts we getting out of hand, so we taught him to herd the cats (we have 5) at night so we can lock them up, it works! He also knows the house rules, so he will enforce them. For example, if a cat scratches the carpet, he puts his nose under the cat's stomach, lifts his head up, and the cat will be in the air so they can't scratch the carpet. If it's one of our larger cats, he'll herd them to the crate, if it's a small cat, he'll carry them to the crate.

That’s amazing! I have a border collie McNab cattle dog mix he’s a lot and is only 11 weeks! We plan on getting goats and chickens! Good luck with cattle dog!

It's called a "capture" behavior. Using clicker training, I would click and give a treat when she was being vocal... and it adapted into 2 syllables. Which kind of sounds like she's saying "Hello"! :)

This is amazing. I don't understand how people say this is bad and your cruel to your dog. Dogs love to please their owner everything they do is so they can be praised by their owner. Dogs love the attention and they love feeling loved.

Thank you!! Yes, I did teach her all these tricks. I learned about a method called "Clicker training", which uses positive reinforcement. (We use treats.) I started just wanting to teach her basic obedience. (Sit, Stay, etc.) But she picked up so quickly and she seemed eager to learn more. So I book a book on dog tricks, and just over the years, she's been learning more and more! We still are learning new tricks. Jaz LOOOOVES it. She always wants to do tricks. If strangers come over, and walk by the treat jar, she'll start doing her resume hoping to earn a treat!! She's a goofball! (and a sweetie.) It just takes a lot of time, patience, and some good treats!! :)
