Rust doesn't bother me, that being said, rust makes working on trucks a lot harder, especially the bolts and nuts being rusted. That's a clean truck tho I like it a lot.
Interestingly, this K5 blazer plow truck was still plowing yesterday, All these years later. That fuel tank gauge sender never worked, the gas gauge always read overfilled, so it was defective when I installed it, I repaired a small problem, and it never read, what a waste of a $100, and dropping the tanks a fairly big job, because there's a skid plate etc
I have a 90 K5 Silverado with hitch and tank cover. Bought it new changed the fuel pump in 1997, 2019, and have to in October of 2021. Pain in the rump. Solution. Never buy OEM even if you have to buy a product from China which I hate to do. GM and Ford fuel mechanical product are crap. Secondly. My 90 inside is perfect carpets etc and flooring like new. Up they come carefully and installed a hatch. There's a site on here of a guy who cut out for a marine hatch. Great job other than the caulk I use Sealant tape double layers in the dips single at the tops. Looks like a factory job. Please if your keeping your K5 or buying one. Do this simple job that the factory should have done save yourself a headache. Now I'm 81 talk about getting to old to do this .
I bought a 96 Crown Vic a couple years ago, new MVI, and it was in good shape, but I got it back to my hometown, filled it up and it ended up leaking half a tank of gas out in the tim hortons parking lot..... I wasnt impressed.
I had to drop my tank replace it sending unit what a nightmare the one thing I did learn is to when you replace the hoses make them about 6 inches longer

if you drop the tailgate and look down the crack it reveals easy access to the tank strap bolts or atleast thats how it is on my 85 k5
