  • It's not clickbait, there are no 10 steps to success here. These are my picks for cars that you can buy and own for free without laying out the cash upfront. You'll need to have an income and a pulse to qualify for a car loan, but after that these cars as long as you don't put giant turbos on them and big ass rims you'll be golden!

      780 scores across all 3, $30k available on credit cards (2% utilization, pay 0% interest, pay in full monthly, have like $600 sitting in cc rewards), and I only make a measly $18-20k a year. I figured if I can get my stocks account built up beefy, throw a 10-20% down payment, my bank might loan me. Rob is right though, 2005 Gallardo is a perfect example, they've been $90k give or take, for like, 8-10 years? You'd essentially own a Lambo, for the cost of interest, and insurance. As long as you don't drive the living shit out of it, which then you'd be counting in some good maintenance costs and *some* depreciation. However, Stradman said *one* of the major maintenances (minus clutch) on his first Lambo, was like, $3k? Not even bad.

      @@Steve-hi1db nope. Could probably get financed for it with a sizable down payment though.. more focused on stocks/crypto at the moment than a Lambo. I watch a lot of Rob Ferreti videos which is pretty much why I was here. And I'm also deep into finances, another reason I was here.

    Great advice. This is why I bought an NSX and a BMW i8! But, people need to beware of an i8 out of warranty. The AC Compressor can fail and cost you $18k because it can implode and send shrapnel through the refrigerant lines that also cool the high voltage battery. This is starting to be a common issue.

Can keep the 2016 for a couple years and drive it and still be able to sell it for about $60-65k. So not much of a lost on a car that can be enjoyed. Places like light stream will finance anything if you have great credit (I think it’s like 700+). Don’t need to worry about the usual ~10 year rule that the typical banks use, and light stream at least is an unsecured loan and they don’t want to be on the title as a lien holder which makes selling it down the line easier (although I think most serious buyers can deal with a lien).

      R34 GTR’s are very expensive as is and will be even more expensive when they are US legal. You’ll spend a fortune on one but you’ll never loose money on it, so yeh buy one and enjoy it for awhile then move it on and recoup your money. Just keep in mind your looking at F430 type prices for an R34, if you bag any of the rarer models like a Midnight purple car or Nurburgring Spec II you’ll pay even more.

    BMW 1M are for sale in the ~50k range. M2 CS? Yes its brand new, but there is a chance it will always stay close to its MSRP like the 1M. STI S209? I think the biggest risk financing a used car that you want to drive for a few years is getting into an accident. Any accident (big or small) just kills the value and I'm not sure there are any insurance policies that will make up for it when the time comes to sell.

    No mention of a Lotus Elise, Exige or Evora? I bought a low mileage Elise for $31K and have put about 10k miles on it over the last 3 years and could probably get $35K on BaT for it this spring. Can't complain about that. If I had to do it over again, I might have got the Exige instead for the supercharger, and I would love to have a little more civilized car like the Evora as well. All of them hold their value and will go up some too if you take care of the car and keep it mostly stock.

    Maybe it doesn't count as they are not cars, but the truck market has been stellar in terms of low depreciation. I bought my F150 new in 2018, and according to NADA value I could turn around and sell it today, almost 3 years and 25k miles later, for what I paid pre tax & title. Basically getting my down payment + what I've paid into it back to cover cost of ownership.

    really the thing that forces a vehicle to hold its value is limited supply verse demand.
    This rings especially true with a vehicle has been discontinued.... Notable examples include Lotus Elise, BMW 1M, BMW Z coupe, Subaru Baja, FJ Cruiser, Honda Element, Subaru WRX/STI hatch, Land Rover Defenders (time will tell with the new one)

    I bought a 17 NSX for 125k low miles in 2018, then I bought 2019 with 1800 miles from my local Acura dealership around April 2020 so right as the pandemic hit us hard, I got them to let it go for 130k and sold it earlier this year for a profit. I rented both for a few days during the month to cover payments and it has worked great so far, thankfully no major accidents just a chip window which the renter covered. I wanna get into a 991.2 GT3 RS now but I feel like they are so overvalued and I'm not sure they will rent as well, also the payments will be much bigger for a 250K+ price tag.

    Can someone explain it to me, maybe i got this wrong.
    So you get a loan, then you get the car, own it for 5 years, and then sell it, getting "most" of your money back , and then repeat?
    The caveat being it has to be a desirable, in demand, plateaued in depreciation.
    How can an average person pay back 50k in 5 years. I'm missing something i don't understand.

    • @usaclaimsthemoon4198
      @usaclaimsthemoon4198 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t pay it back, you pay your minimum monthly payments. Then in 5 years either w minimum depreciation or even appreciation, you have gotten all the money you paid for those monthly payments back. That’s a theory he is suggesting, but so many variables.
