It’s disgusting to think how much we pay for commercial pet food only to learn of the horrible and sometimes deadly items that’s allowed to be included.
That’s your fault for abusing your dog or pet ! Knowing the risks of dry kibble ! Money isn’t an excuse, don’t own a dog if you can’t afford the food basics !
Can you just come out with a dog food brand so I don’t have to worry what I feed my dog.

There is no real good dog food unless you home cook or raw feed, and if you must feed kibble, do 20 percent fresh or raw food to their kibble.
I was going to buy Carn4 yesterday. It was so pricey even to see if your dog likes it or can tolerate it. It was at 1 store which was about 25 min from home. It was too far to buy extra bags. I just could not justify it.

We feed Kindful Lamb and Brown Rice recipe! We also add toppers like sardines and fresh fruits and veggies. Cooper has a chicken sensitivity and this food has been so good for us.
My German used to stay drinking Water day and night, he would wake me up in the middle of the night for more. I switched to raw diet and they not worry about water anymore. So thank you so much for all your advice ❤❤❤❤
Yes, my Lab would drink lots of water on his own and he would touch his bowl to let me know if it was out of water. If I had only known. Breaks my heart that I could have done better for him.
That's because there's no moisture in kibble it's ultra highly processed dry type of dog food that's why he was so thirsty!,raw has high moisture content best food for dog,next is home cooked glad you switched to raw I bet you've seen improvement?.

Also, for whoever is reading this.
Something that is rarely said in these food analysis videos for the average person thinking about their budget.
The lower the protein percentage the more over all volume of food will need to be consumed in order to satiate your dogs hunger.
Meaning, more food will need to be consumed more often often resulting in obesity and vet bills resulting from the obesity and/or more food eaten over time resulting in you actually spending more money than you think.
At the end of the day you are paying for protein both quality and amount
So the better foods may be a bit more money upfront
But if you break it down and run it across all variables
Such as volume needed for satisfaction in fullness and vet bills due to poor nutrition
You will find you actually will save money on a 2-5 year period.
However,One thing you will find out that over a 10 year period you will spend more on a dog with good nutrition, but this statistic is due to a longer living average for a dog on a top nutrition diet, but this trade off seems fine 😆
Done correctly, many homemade diets are less expensive per pound than commercial food. And you know exactly what your pet is getting.

I use 4 health a tractor supply product. Beef and rice (with wholesome grains) I looked at the first 5 ingredients didn’t look that bad

Can you just list the healthiest kibbles? The more videos i watch the more confused i get
I like when the video is more "if you feed them this, that's okay, just maybe add this to your dogs diet also" cuz I don't think she really is saying these brands are off her list and they are the worst and nobody should buy them. She's just try to get pet owners educated about ingredients and the process the food goes through then we need to decide based off budget and what sort of dog we have and their health and age what is best.
I feed my two cats mostly chicken thighs and raw ground beef. Once a week, a tin of sardines on Sardine Sunday. I also feed them Weruva wet cat food. Family owned. As low or lower levels of calcium, phosphorus and sodium than Hill's. Important for a cat's kidney health.
I use Weruva and raw meats too.

I just found you on TH-cam and I love all your videos. I recently lost my heart dog to Bone Cancer and am getting ready to get a new puppy in 2 weeks and want to make sure I am doing all the right things! My boy I lost was way too young, and I feel like it was because of the stupid food they sell at grocery stores. I started home cooking his food, but feel I did it too late and it was not enough to save him. I am completely heartbroken still over him! Thank you for this video!! I had been waiting for the Nutro brand because that's what I feed my 5 lb chihuahua. I add some dehydrated duck from Stella and top it off with peas and carrots. Twice a month, I feed her sardines in water no salt and she devours it.
Be careful not to feed too many peas. They have starch and can make it difficult to absorb needed nutrients.

I always trusted what the bag ingredients said until 2 years ago when a friend started hauling ingredients to and from pet food ingredient warehouses.
One of the cat food ingredients is plain brown cardboard ground up into small flakes 😢 .
The chicken he hauled that I seen was called feather meal. It's all big "brand name" companies I will not mention.

I wanted to ask your opinion on a brand of raw dog food I was recommended. It’s called Instincts -The RAW Brand-. I’m a novice at reading ingredients but so far everything seems fairly healthy and free of preservatives. But I’m not 100% sure. I’d love to know your thoughts or anyone’s thoughts on the brand. Just an FYI, Rachel Ray dog food was found to contain dog DNA in 2020 ☠
U of New Mexico studied six dog food brands. Two were found to have dog DNA. They did not identify the brands.
I strongly believe euthanized dogs from shelters are being used in dog food. Horrid and despicable.
Idk...10 yrs back maybe....my dad and i hunted gators. The buyer told us the meat was mostly going to dog food. Some of them would sit i the sun long throughout the day in the heat,sun...bloated and all...they still took the bodies for processing. South Louisiana

There's no one perfect dog food. Every dog responds differently to the same diet. Some might not do well, while some thrive on it. It's not just about the food but stimulus and environment that create a happy healthy dog. I feed mine with home cooked food and sometimes I split half and eat the exact bland food without any seasoning, with the extra for my dog are seaweed calcium and mineral blends. With that said, almost 30yrs back, my aunt had dogs that lived on Pedigree canned and kibbles (most famous brand back then), scraps from dining out, etc. Everything we consider unhealthy and bad for today's dogs, but they lived til 16 and 17 respectively without any diseases except for cataracts due to old age. So I think it's not just food, but balance of everything that keeps them whole, happy, and healthy.

I did raw for many years with both of my chihuahuas and it really fixed my one dog who used to have a lot of stomach issues before I put him on the raw. My other one though got to the point of throwing up too much and I was tired of cleaning ground meat off my nice white couch 😔 I also found their breath was very stinky with raw food. I do believe the concept can be a good option for most dogs but to make my life easier I now cook for both of them a chicken or beef stew with veggies and rice, sardines, eggs, fruit, peanut butter, whatever I eat they get too! I have never been a fan of kibble - becoz I wouldn’t want to eat that every day of my life! Can u please do a video of how to integrate a new puppy when u have two older dogs who are not liking the new puppy? I just discovered your channel and the puppy videos are really helping! Nutro is darn expensive to have these issues!
Our Gwennie loves Front of the Pack air dried food. Yes, it's pricey, but it lasts us longer because it only makes up about 1/3 of her meal. I add bone broth, fresh protein and veggies. I feel she gets a very balanced meal. Portland Pet Food Company makes great human grade homestyle meals that I like to use as toppers.

Another informative video. Corn is fed to pigs to fatten them quickly. I really don't want my dogs and cats eating it. When I want to upset the "Hill's corn is good fans," I call it pig food! LOL I thought Rachael Ray started out as grain free. Somewhere along the way, it went to grains and nothing was said. Several RR wet foods contain carrageenan, which has been banned in Europe as a carcinogen. I do miss "30 Minute Meals." LOL

It is grains that dog owners should avoid. Too many carbs can cause kidney problems, arthritis and diabetes, especially in older dogs.

Dr. Tims Metabolite...would really love a review!! We give that with primal raw toppers , steamed broccoli ,carrots & Dr. Tims Elk probiotic topper powder mixed in with a bit of warm water to make a gravy. Also was adding goats milk as well but currently out.

I use to feed my dogs Nutro, During that time my dogs had lots of rashes other skin problems, nails breaking and I had to give them anti-inflammatory medications. I started making my dog food out of chicken livers, gizzards, broth, beans, rice, quinoa and some veggies. Now my dogs have no more skin or nail issues, no longer need anti-inflammatory meds and they are much happier more energy.

Love your channel Rachel, your videos are so informative. My dog, now deceased, came down with diabetes 2.5 years ago. My vet prescribed Royal Canin which I fed her mixed with boiled chicken until one day she stopped eating the kibbles and only ate the chicken part of her meal. I did some research, unfortunately I had not found you yet on TH-cam, and found ketonatural dog food (with very good reviews) and in spite of what my vet said replaced the Royal Canin with the ketonatural plus chicken. As I said before, my beloved Lola is no longer with me but still I am curious to know what your take is on the Ketonatural dog food for diabetic dogs.
