Kidney disease is the result of drinking less water and excessive medicines. Try herbal or home remedies as far as possible and ensure your pet is drinking clean water continuously. The water bowl is often covered with dust and fur and pets avoid drinking water because of this. I wash and clean the water bowls daily, and keep an eye on whether they're drinking enough water or not. If not, I force-feed them water with a syringe.
My latest dog 4 year old fox terrier has never been fed that pet fast food garbage. If it has a long shelf life what does that tell you. I wonder why it causes plaque and tarter and requires a tooth brush. My dog eats a raw animal food based diet and i have never had to brush his teeth in 4 years.
My golden rule with pet food, is don’t buy any brands that are sold in supermarkets. You pay for what you get, high end expensive pet store only brands are superior over any supermarket brand and are fine to feed to your pets. The pet food industry is very competitive these days, resulting in far better foods than the past. Many are using human grade meat, adding natural ingredients and producing much better quality food. They even have additives now, that make your home cooked pet food, nutritionally balanced, which was always the problem with home cooked pet food, getting everything they need in it, was very challenging and involved an incredible amount of research if you wanted it completely balanced. Pet owners have forced the industry to do better, no matter what the cost, because many pet owners will pay for the very best for their fur kids. I have been a vet tech over 30 years, and have seen how pet food has changed drastically over the years for the better.
@@LHLK-q2v I don’t buy pet food at a supermarket because it’s extremely poor quality. I have been in the veterinary industry over 30 years, so I can assure you, I’m very well informed.
This. Just walking into a boutique pet store and picking anything _at random_ will get you a better food than anything you find at a grocery store or large chain pet store, IMHO. And if in doubt, check label for % of protein, fat, and KCAL - if the percentage of protein is low and the fat is high, and the KCAL is also suspiciously high... it's *loaded* with oil and grains. Maybe alright for dogs, but no-go for cats. If it has no KCAL label _at all_ don't even waste your time.

no they don't they are not carnivores they are omnivores. These corporations have a better balanced food than most people are informed enough to provide at home
Convenience and retail cheap model
Thank you. When I was younger, went to my local butcher. Scrap beef. Chicken. Knuckle bones.
If this had been the US, each and every single food item would've had an ingredients list 5x longer and each ingredient barely even pronounceable.
You should google “horse meat ground beef EU” if you think Europes standards are so much better than the USA
it is very similar for human food in the UK and Europe
I always thought, if we can't eat it then for sure my pet's can't as well. So I'm glad such care is being done in making their food
That's not a good thing to abide by....
There's actually many foods we can eat that dogs can't and vice versa.
Seeing the oeople eat the dog food being tested is really different😮😮
it is better produced then some food cooked at home
@@LHLK-q2vbetter than fast food for sure!
I live in America I've fed all my animals purina dog chow and purina cat chow. They do very well on it. Purina has been around for 126 years. These new boutique foods that cost a arm and a leg are ridiculous. Purina brand is the best in my opinion.
All american food is cheap poison.
Naturally, Im sure they did their best to make themselves look good, as we all do. But I clicked this video completely expecting to end it feeling guitly about not preparing my cats food myself from raw ingredients (something I would love to do that simply isnt possible right now) but was pleasantly surprised with the opposite. Rather the video was a fluff peice for the company or not, it worked in making me more comfortable picking these guys.
Partly why I stopped watching this channel.
@@jmc8076 so what are you doing here
if their products are so high quality, why don't they mention on the packaging what exactly goes in, instead of just meat and vegetables? why don't they mention the exact preservatives they add?
Cause they are liars and don’t care about the animals, but are amazing at pretending they do
@freebeeaddict-pt3on - Jelly on the packaging had me wondering the same thing! What's in that jelly!
they do, different regulations for different places dear

Has any research been done in what causes kidney disease in dogs and cats that have been fed on one brand of pet food their entire life?
Kidney disease is the result of drinking less water and excessive medicines. Try herbal or home remedies as far as possible and ensure your pet is drinking clean water continuously. The water bowl is often covered with dust and fur and pets avoid drinking water because of this. I wash and clean the water bowls daily, and keep an eye on whether they're drinking enough water or not. If not, I force-feed them water with a syringe.
I sometimes eat my dogs poo. 😢 I'm not sure why. But, I just can't resist sometimes. Please don't judge me 😢
The German chef is most dedicated.... Seriously ❤
The German Chef is awkwardly so cute and Brit science cat lady!!
I only feed my dog, food that I would eat. If I won't eat it, why should my dog?
because you and your dog ae not the same and require different things
@@LHLK-q2v how so? I think you might be on to something.
@@LHLK-q2vAnimals require real food too…
My latest dog 4 year old fox terrier has never been fed that pet fast food garbage. If it has a long shelf life what does that tell you. I wonder why it causes plaque and tarter and requires a tooth brush. My dog eats a raw animal food based diet and i have never had to brush his teeth in 4 years.
really showing how uninformed you are
My golden rule with pet food, is don’t buy any brands that are sold in supermarkets. I have been a vet tech over 30 years, and have seen how pet food has changed drastically over the years for the better.
how uninformed and ridicuous, you buy your food in a super market
So happy to see the dedicated and loving people who work for best results for our pets, i will for sure look for the 11+ for my 3 best friends :)

chow chow obedience... Don't eat the poodle...
Finally a inside view of a petfood factory, i’m switching brands. Nice to watch, to bad the sound is lost at the end.
Thank you for showing us your process and factory. It is exactly what I wanted to see. Very clean and sanitary. Please sell your food in the Colonies( U.S.A.). The cat food we get sold here mainly consists of rice, grain, beer and corn byproducts made from the processing of human food and should not be in the diet of an animal that is an obligate carnivore.
Its the same here in Europe. Don't be fooled by this 'documentary'. Go check the ingredients in the European products yourself. Its also mostly grain and byproducts from other industries.
It's also the same poor nutrition and ingredients from Mars and subsidiaries. Look at higher-quality food products: Weruva, Stella and Chewy's, Instinct, and Wellness for example, Even store brands like Authority (PetSmart) and Whole Hearted (Petco) are better than mainstream products (Iams, Fancy Feast, Whiskas, Meow Mix, Puppy/Kitten Chow).
@@greg1894 When we were living on a really tight budget between jobs, we had to switch from Fromm to Authority and our cats did pretty well on it. Versus them hunger-striking rather than eat Friskies "Grain-Free" which made me laugh. They were so adamant against eating it no matter how I doctored it I ended up throwing the bag out.
LOL why you calling us Colonist still
I'm sure these workers are good intentioned, its funny how they skip over the corn, wheat, soy, legumes and other ingredients that dogs and cats don't need, especially with all the glyphosate they contain😢
THIS!
This is clearly an attempt by mars to keep people brainwashed into thinking kibble is a healthy way to feed an animal.
of course they need it they are omnivors not carnivors and never have been, get informed
@@LHLK-q2vI think you need to get educated …..cats are carnivores and dogs mainly thrive on a meat diet that’s facts ….it’s so obvious your on the companies payroll with so many comments being a fluffer for mars.
I never ever a going to accept, that people giving dry food to their pets, as they do not stand the smell as the only reason. Better: Always feed wet food to your beloved pet!
before or after it rots in the fridge?
Due to dry cat food my furry cat had kidney disease...she is now on raw diet n absolutely well now.
any idea if this food is packaged for the USA also or just overseas?
Nothing compares to the real food that you cooked or not and give to your pets. Keep in mind, we as pets are what we eat. Think about what you and your pets eat in tems of macro and micro nutrition.
read the ingredients or how some of that food is processed, some of what people believe is not reality.

i cannot believe how the world is going mad about pet's food. historically, pets were there to eat our leftover so that we humans won't be wasting foods which is a curse and has bad karma! and with so many billions of people going hungry nowadays, doing this, is a great insult to human life to be honest...
I felt like this was just a big corporate ad and no real substance to it.
do see someone about the conspiracy theory
I used to work on a beef farm. Dont let them fool you into thinking they are all about quality. I have personally seen the state of rotted bloated carcass the dog food truck collects from the poop pile 🤮🤮🤮
Cats will not eat it. I don't know about dogs.
@@MaryReed-iy7fq yeah dogs would just gobble anything up, but cats will turn their noses and would rather not eat than eat something suspicious.
for this factory, seems pretty bizarre as all meat for any consumption has to be inspected, even for pet food. so i fact what you shared is a lie

Our rescue pups are senior and special needs. All require different diets due to allergies and health conditions. We have one dog who has allergic reactions to all meat proteins. Dry food is good or wet food for kitten and cats?
No dry food please…
@Just_Lurking8 OK can add chicken soup or a little water to dry food.
@@SanaKhan-pf7ydThey extrude this in very high heat four times, so all the vitamins and nutrients are depleted ,then they add synthetic vitamins to that… Feeding that to kittens, and cats is going to dehydrate them ,because it’s pulling all the moisture from their body… You would have to add six times more water or broth in order for it to balance out… It’s a terrible food overall. Good wet food would be: Tiki or Veruva for them.

I'm really worried on how many times they did mention liver. Cats can handle a very limited amount of liver, and with retinoids accumulating in their systems, consequences may be really far-reaching.
Not sure about cats but I know for dogs organs are really good for them! Dogs that hunt their own food will usually eat the organs first because they have the most nutrients. Foxes, wolfs and any animal that eats meat will eat organs first.
