Thank you so much for watching! Doing the work yourself will save you $1000's over the course of owning your vehicle. This is a very easy and straightforward repair to do in a driveway situation.

    Lol the mechanic I took my truck to was going to charge me $325 for the hub assembly, and labor was going to be $144 . I did a quick check, and O'Riley had it in stock for $150. So I promptly left, and now I'm here watching your video! Thank you by the way
    Edit: they also quoted me $298 for parts to replace the front rotors, and pads...

      Nice work avoiding getting ripped off. This is a pretty easy repair. Thanks for watching!

      Lmao rip off? funny thing is you don’t run a business so you don’t have to factor in overhead and other expenses. So yes, you can go buy a 150$ hub and put it in yourself. Or you can pay someone to obtain those parts for you and put them in for you.
      Furthermore I just did front brakes and rotors myself. Each rotor was like 80 bucks plus 40 for the brake pads. So 200 bucks. So why is 298 such a bad price?

    • @HarryHafsak
      @HarryHafsak ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, was it an OEM motorcraft hub they quoted? Maybe you should stop trying to rip businesses off lol
      $250 hub assembly marked up 30% to $325.
      I assume 2 hours of labor to put said assembly in. $144. Sounds about right.

      That's because they warrany the part not the labor.

    I have a 2001 f-150 "heavy" 7 lug. I'm looking for rims and I'm really struggling to find them. Any suggestions? Should I just switch hubs to a 5 or 6 lug hub?

      Do u think I should keep looking for 7 lug rims or consider changing out the hubs to a 5 or 6 lug........I know you said stock...but, I don't have a bunch of money to spend on brand new rims

    Son away at college and needed this repair done. So a local shop charged $240 to replace wheel bearing, hub and rotor to passenger side of 05 F150 It was worth the cost when a college student has absolutely no tools to do heavy work like this. Now important question, why does only one wheel bearing go out? I didn't hear you mention this in the video.

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  ปีที่แล้ว

      It isn't, it's just the one that went out first. The other is usually right behind it. Thanks for watching!

    On a 4x4, how important is it to replace both at the same time?

    • @2carpros

      Pretty important. I didn't replace my other one due to finances and 2 weeks later the other one just went out anyways. Thanks for watching!

    Is this easy or expensive enough that someone might take a good one from a truck to replace a bad one on another truck, and put the bad one on the truck that the good one was taken from? I let a friend of a mutual friend borrow my truck for a week or so which had no problems. Now all of sudden the right front wheel sounds bad while driving and esp when turning now as if it's rubbing (or maybe needs grease?), AND driver side of engine sounds like a lifter or pushrod is tapping. On top of which my 2 rear suicide doors are stuck closed on the bottom, dents and scratches in back, front of bed wall is bent pushed in under rear window, and tailgate top liner was ripped off and nasty dent on top corner above tail light. Plz Spare me any lecture, I've def learned my lesson about being a nice guy. And if course I can't prove any of it.
    And turns out the guy seems to be a pretty sketchy dude and doesn't return calls. Def not ever doing this again. Some people can be total scum.
