I find Carlo Ancelotti's apporach interesting. His understanding seems to be that today's world-class players don't need to be motivated - they need to be calmed down. They need a surrounding where they're treated as individuals and feel fully protected by a natural father figure who's really a friend to them.
No wonder they e been underperforming for the last 8 years. Its a generational thing, the lack of respect and engagement by the players was pretty shocking. I was surprised to be such little leadership from the senior players like Thomas Muller too
Thomas Muller should have shouted at the players on Flicks behalf in my opinion. You need the senior players to be like assistant managers in a situation like this. That was one of the key ingredients to Chelsea’s success for example, with John Terry backing Mourinho 100%.
As a Croatian my opinion is that none of these guys should be called back for the national team. If this attitude happened in our camp ..oh boy.. You can clearly see they don't care
You also need the manager to be able to motivate the players and play as team. The manager is responsible for picking the team and the players for the national team so that’s already on Flick if he’s picked a load of players that have bad attitudes. I get it players shouldn’t have bad attitudes but then they shouldn’t be in the squad. I also believe his man management skills aren’t that good given the players body language. He wasn’t able to get a player to speak up in the Japan match reviews etc. and when Kimmich did (the captain), he got shut down. Being a manager is not just about the tactics. It’s people management as well. England had this problem for years with on paper great managers but the players weren’t motivated. Yet Southgate who on paper wasn’t a good manager has been the most successful England manager since 1966. Now your national team manager is the complete opposite of Flick. He gets your players up and ready to fight as a team even if on paper they’re not as good as some of the teams they’ve played and he hasn’t be a big name in the management world (his last jobs before the national team were all in the Middle East ).
@@tombardsley3081 Bro i have see you in every comment to justify the lack of motivation of the players as if the manager was the only one obligated to motivate them, These people are elite professionals and there is also leaders between the players, do you this that vicente del bosque was a nice guy? It was Puyol who had to jump in for the players to be concentrated, Flick did what he could do and a applied in Bayern were they got player like lewandoski, Muller and other who called out the ones who were not behaving correct, 2010 Germany had Schweinsteiger hod called out their defense line against brazil for letting them to score a goal. Nagelsman also closed this germany national team control, being two in a row would show you that sometimes the players simply think that they are above the team.
@@Zetagamescr Flick didn't do all he could. Germany still had Muller and Neuer for this tournament. Hiding behind the players not being motivated is just a poor excuse for a manager that didn't get it right. The buck stops with the manager. It's on him because he picked these players. International management isn't the same as managing a club. England had leaders like Ferdinand, Terry, Gerrard with an on paper elite manager, yet what happened in South Africa in 2010? Nagelsmann has already done better despite having the same players so Flick has no excuses.
Disgraceful, in any half normal team in any sport (or even in a classroom) the instant response would be yes Sir/yes boss.Incredible lack of interest and respect from them.
More than half of the players in the national team are way younger than him and probably won’t pay much attention to him if he tries to talk to them. It’s not that easy.

Anybody in this room could have easily bet his life savings on a German group stage exit. There´s no way a team like this gets anywhere
All they thought were their money contract. No sports motivation. That s why Klose said about modern German football player attitude.
Thank god barca have him as the coach
This is the German adaptation of The Office
Flick is a world class manager. Germany didnt deserve him
Meanwhile on a small Island people desperately try to remember 1966...
No wonder they e been underperforming for the last 8 years. Its a generational thing, the lack of respect and engagement by the players was pretty shocking. I was surprised to be such little leadership from the senior players like Thomas Muller too
Muller ain’t a leader, he was carried by Lahm and Schweinsteigher
Any backstory available on this situation. That man has clearly lost the room.
They be like me in class, the teacher angry talking and nobody say nothing 🤣🤣🤣
Vielleicht ist das das Problem. Erwachsene möchten nicht wie Kleinkinder angesprochen werden.
Those players looked dead, no surprise that they finished that WC so early
2:25 tf bro. They just ignored him😂
Disgraceful, in any half normal team in any sport (or even in a classroom) the instant response would be yes Sir/yes boss.Incredible lack of interest and respect from them.
In this situation I would have freaked out as a coach
Bro I would have cried internally
Flick seems to be nervous and unsure about some things, and that translates to the players imidiatly.
Surprised Muller acted that way! Thought he was more of a leader!
He's a leader for the reporters.
More than half of the players in the national team are way younger than him and probably won’t pay much attention to him if he tries to talk to them. It’s not that easy.
😔ngl he disappointed me
Bestes Team gerade in Europa
Freaking love this guy Our Coach hansiiiiiiiiii
First and foremost, Flick is a chilled out entertainer.
I can't believe I actually clicked on the video title and hoped for an inspiring speech. Really.
Yamal was late for a team session and got warned by flick 💀😂
I feel so bad for him he did not deserve that in the germany squad
I hope e comes back to bayern
players mostly connect in 1on1 situations, he needs to direct his talk to individuals and then the others would have to catch on
And to a lot of people thinking he would be incapable of managing a top club we can just make a guess, people who judge him on the basis of the German national team, the team is struggling after the World Cup 2014 and nobody notices it.
he literally won 6 trophies at bayern, including a legendary UCL run what are u even talking about mate
@@Sisphy1 that's my point that people downgrade him because of his tenure at the German national team. Which I guess the team is itself suffering since 2014
Much love brothers 🙌
I can tell you half of those players weren't even paying attention to the coach bunch of self entitled knobs no wonder the national team sucks these days
Laporta Cook something here 😭😭😭
He is cooking nothing 😆🤦♂️
It's part of Amazons All or Nothing Documentary
Flick to Barca, here we go!
@giwrgospetrou1159 cryyyy 😂😂😂
"show some emotion"
Everyone: 😐😐😐
When i see these clips i understand why Flick didnt succeed with Germany. Great tactician but lacking in man management
It’s more so the German players than him. 0 work ethic, 0 passion. Pathetic attitude. No wonder they got knocked out in the GS. So much for virtue signalling & focusing on “politics”
Flick was known for being a great man manager in Bayern
@@anubis8586 I agree with that too, the old generation of Germans like Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Klose had great mentality and were leaders. This current bunch lacks characters
These players don't even want to play for their country. They look like they already wanted to go home before the match begins.
@@anubis8586 that's on the manager as well. He picked these players so either he made mistakes with these selections or should be finding better ways to motivate them.
Muller looked like he wanted to ask "Do we still get the rest of the tournament off if we get eliminated?".
This guy deserves something better than Barça. The players will not respect him, they are such a bunch of spoiled kids used to doing whatever they want
bro tf are you talking? pedri, gavi, de jong , ferran , ter stegan ,araujo , roberto , cancelo spoiled kids? half of these players like dejong and pedri are definition of class . dont know what you talking bout
@@AdityaKashyup barcelona players don't have any spirit gundogan said it himself
@@Mangofoo when did he say that? He talked about the quality in comparison to other teams . Obviously they are under development it's a project. never said they're spoiled
Bros said a whole lot of nothing
Roberto Lewandinho
They are a bunch of brats, he said all the right things but you cannot get through to someone who's already given up. The problem is this spoiled generation of players.
It’s like he’s giving a talk to the local football team.
These german players are truly filled with emotions, have never seen so much fire in a team. 😂
Now we know why they lost against Spain, discipline.
Thank you so much❤
These players seem like they would rather play fortnite than represent their country in the world cup
These German players don't seem to bother him, unlike Barca right now
I can expect him to lead the team with such charisma in Barcelona, but I doubt he has the right leadership for Barcelona. Of course, my opinion can be refuted because of Pep Guardiola, but I think friction with some players can be expected. 🤔
Compare this to Peps "Sit down SHUT UP" entrance.
This is the manager that takes all the credit for Danny Röhl's genius.
Prime video playing dirty posting videos about Flick when his linked to being a Barca coach knowing that almost every Barca fun will watch
Hansi is born a movie flick
Been on top for so long ain’t no more fight in them…
That’s why they are struggling. They treat players like they used to 20 years ago. Players are different now days, they are more athletic and intelligent but they are softer.
These guys dont want to be there. They’re thinking about their holidays. Football is about passion.
Einfach traurig.
Even in a room of sulky too cool for this teenagers you'd expect at least a play along response from one of them
Can't even give the coach an answer at the end? Are they 12?
At United and Chelsea, the managers have to apologise for coming on time.
when i saw how the 2014 german team played and how the current national team plays, i was like what happened ??
Players: 🧍🏽♂️
Comments "😧😡Look at these players and how they're acting up... the disrespect is shocking "
Nobody was expecting anything from that German squad, and nothing is what they delivered.
In some point, a camera in the room influence players behavior. They intended or untended can show that they are not satisfied for some reason.
That's why they embarrassed themselves. It's clear they didn't like/want Flick.
Now, look at what Flick did to Barcelona?
And the players praise him there.
