I've been playing amateur football mz whole life and I've heard the almost exact same speech at least 10 times from different coaches. In the it's always the same. "Go out there and give your best!"
👍 Mid game the most important thing is more often than not in a situation like this to give some energy and motivation to the players. Tactics are prepared pre game.

This really shows the issue wirh Flick. He is not a good communicator. It is not just about motivating others, but also about directing their motivation by providing structure. Flick clearly lacked the latter. He also says „you need to do it“, implying that he gave them everything they need not accepting that he is in that together wirh the team. Seeing various clips of him it is clear that he is seeing himself as unfailable. Either they win because the players followed his guidance or they lose because they were not listening. This mindset is dangerous for any coach. His winning season with Bayern might have only been able to accomplish because the players really did not like playing under Kovac, so once they switched Flick had all the trust and could just play on his strength. But once the going gets tough, he hides behind his players.

There is a four part documentary about the last WC that shows it in great detail. He‘s a great buddy type coach as long as there’s smooth sailing. But once you find yourself in the middle of a storm, he completely loses it.

Germany was in a difficult moment, and Germany is not Barca you cannot compare this especially not a country with a club, i can also say look what he did with Bayern... That's why i think Flick is the best option now because he has one of the best experiences of all coaches on the elite level that are now available to coach Barca.
