    Fixed ! Rear left sensor was popped out. But also had power issues to the abs module. Patriot 2011, top 2 positive wires were ground ( 11 and 2 volts readings) By-pass between module and fuse box worked perfectly. All lights are gone. Speedo came back and 4x4 control also.

    @Robert Dotterer. So Robert the 3 combined warning lights come on when a wheel speed sensor is bad. On my 2010 Jeep Patriot those 3 lights will come on every once and a while but 9 times out of 10 they don't come back on while driving after I restart the vehicle.
    Now the issue on mine is that every time I start my Patriot & drive it, at the 1 mile mark, the 4WD! warning light comes on. Now here's two things I've noticed. 1: I hit a really bad chuckhole & it turned off the 4WD! light till the next time I started the vehicle. 2: The previous owner had p225/65r 17's installed when the factory size is p215/60r 17. I was told that if you don't install the factory size tires it messes up the speed sensors when they communicate to the computer, forcing it to cancel the 4x4 option on the vehicle, thus tripping the 4WD! warning light.... Great video btw, MD.....

      It's not your tires, its probably a faulty 4wd switch. I have a video coming out soon on that. The switches go bad a bumps set off the light. You can wiggle the switch and duplicate it.

      @@RobertDotterer So the light coming on at 1 mile is just like normal when that 4wd switch is bad then.. Because I was gonna put the vehicle up on jack stands and put it in drive to see if it had anything to do with a faulty speed sensor but one thing at a time. I think that mopar brand switch is like $45-$65....

      You have go be careful running cars on jackstands. Abs, traction control, transfercases, can all do strange things unless you can disable them

      @@RobertDotterer One thing I've been forgetting to do is clearing fault codes from the vehicle after I fix something. That all came to a head after I repaired ground pigtails with corroded wires not making contact and reconnecting one of the relays that was removed from the relay box down along the front left fender. After all of that I hooked my OBD2 scanner up and had 8 fault codes, some of them were for expensive issues to repair. So I cleared the fault codes which haven't came back on. Even the check engine light which was causing a P0420 fault code to stay on, that turned out to be something with that one relay that wasn't working. I also took the TIPM off, took it apart to see if the boards had any visual issues, cleaned he contacts on every fuse that assembled it. The 4WD! light hasn't come on yet but I did take the 4WD Lock switch apart and could see a corroded spot where one of the pins plug into the small circuit board. Those you usually have to buy new anyway, so since that lock could actually be what is tripping the warning light, I'll get a new one. Just found a website that carries them. It's shocking not seeing the check engine light on, or the ABS and the other 2 lights coming on and sending the vehicle into limp mode. That was scaring the shit out of my daughter and my wife. To me it was just another ''Swear at the damn Jeep'' while I would be driving it. That's the switch you're talking about right? The one on the center floor console. It's called the 4WD Lock Switch. I mean I'd scream if that's been the problem lol ......

      Good chance it's the switch. I have a video I recorded right after this on the switch. I haven't released it yet. The switch contacts go bad and when you hit a bump it momentarily goes on causing issues.

    If you unhook the the wire to the rear wheel bearing can you still drive the jeep

    • @RobertDotterer
      @RobertDotterer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will probably just disable the abs system.

    Did that also cause the problem with the 4×4 light coming on ??

    How much do you think this kind of repair would cost?

    • @RobertDotterer
      @RobertDotterer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I charged $80 to diagnose it then the sensor plus probably 1/2 labor. It really depends on pricing of parts and shop labor rates. All together it was probably around $200-$250.i don't really remember the price.

      @@RobertDotterer way better than I'd anticipated. Problem is my fiance had bought a jeep before we had gotten together and the jeep had the CPU in it replaced with a 2012. Her jeep is a 2010. So I'm not entirely sure if it is sensor related or programming because we has to replace the CPU back to the 2010 in order to fix the AC over the summer.
