I might be wrong, but I have a halo extension, and it is essentially just heavy monofilament fishing line. Is it the same for toppers?

Hi Lacie. Not sure if you read comments on years old videos, but wanted to say I have found your videos to be soo super helpful. I have super baby fine hair, and have also started a new chemotherapy for, originally stage 4 breast cancer. Its been a long 8 years. But this new treatment causes thinning. Joy ☹️ I thought of just shaving my head, again, but also debating a topper. So thanks for all the great advice in your videos. Its gona help me when I can finally make the purchase. Hi! Here is a link to a topper grip: amzn.to/3qaKdSP. You can sew on your own halo wire but I’ve found it works best with lace front toppers. Am a recent topper wearer. Here is what i do to minimize stress on my bio hair. 1)Limit time I wear topper to 2-3 times a week when I go out 2)Removed one of the front😮 clips and repositioned single front clip to center of forehead 3) thread hair pins, not bobby pins, through the fake hair, through the cap and into my bio hair. Hi Lacey. I’m totally binging your videos as I plan on buying my first topper. I have early hairloss, so I don’t want a lot of hair, therefore a smaller base. Do you have any idea where I can have a comb put in to replace the front clip? I totally don’t trust myself to sew anything lol. Also, I could swear you had a video that showed something you placed between the comb and your head, but remember what it was!
Hi Beth! I don’t know of anyone who can replace a comb except for maybe the company You’re buying it from. I promise it’s super easy or maybe find someone local who can sew to do it. And the video you’re talking about is on my IG highlights of “topper hacks” where I showed using barber velcro to keep it more secure 👍🏼

What topper grip did u use? The ones I saw on Amazon, everyone complained u could see a small metal ball sticking thru your hair. Tks
You just have to tuck that in. I use one from Milano wigs and one from Thin Hair Thick. 🤗
I just bought a topper, but I wanted to know, what things can we bring to prepare ourselves from the weather when out and about. Meaning, I am afraid it may get so windy or raining that my topper will be obvious. Thank you
That’s a good question but honestly, only whatever you would bring for your regular hair. A brush maybe? Possibly some root powder for touch ups. I’ve never had a problem with wind or rain and wearing my topper 🤗

What hair topper grip works best for you?
I have one from Milano Wigs and also Thin Hair Thick-they both work great!

It’s a silk top from www.tosshaircollection.com and used to be called the Bria topper. She carried a similar color called Sophia I believe ☺️

I think you’re talking about the piece I’m wearing in the beginning. It’s a silk top with wefting from www.tosshaircollection.com in the color Bria. It’s not always available though so you’ll have to check with the owner ☺️
What kind of tape do you have on the inside of your topper on the part line?
It’s called scar tape 👍🏼

Would you say toppers can cause the same amount of hair los as clip in hair extensions?
I feel like toppers can be less damaging actually! Your head holds up most of the weight rather than your hair like with extensions 👍🏼

Does a silk topper always needs to be glued in the front? I have enough hair in the front and less at the back. I'm looking into buying the Raquel Welch top billing. Any advice or feedback? 👍
Lace toppers do unless it’s cut to the rim. Silk base toppers do not as the silk is based on the cap construction. 🙂
As far as for the Raquel Welch, it would need to be glued on unless you add bangs. 🙂
I bought a Dimples topper with the small base. Oh my..it’s a struggle. I do have hair at the top of my head but such a small base is difficult to keep in place without using a claw clip or other decorative hair item and style the hair in such a way that the topper doesn’t move. Too much bio hair and the clips don’t close! Love the hair, but learned the smaller base it just too small.
Hi Geri, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having a hard time. Adding some hairspray to your hair where the clips will go makes all the difference. 🙂
@@lacie.rodriguez will try the hairspray idea…hadn’t occurred to me..some of those hair thickener powders may also help..will try both

Hi! I apologize I’m not very versed in clip in toppers for black women. I’m sure they exist but unfortunately I’m having a hard time finding reputable vendors. Most options for black women are marketed as closures. I’m still working on finding more inclusive options 🤗🩷 promise I’ll update on my channel when I do!

What kind of cap are they do you know? A silk top is usually flatter. Are they human hair?

They are lace tops? Have you tried getting them wet and drying them upside down? Or giving them a good blow out with a hair dryer? Sometimes when hair pieces sit for long periods of time the hair tends to lay flatter. A good refresh in the style should help with that. I’ll work on getting a video up for how to get volume 👍🏼

Are these ok to wear once in a while? Like on weddings
Sure! If they’re mostly going to be stored, then I would have it on a mannequin head away from direct sunlight. Also, adding a little oil hydrating serums about once every two weeks. ☺️

Another thought..smaller base is better with less volume toppers and shorter hair toppers
It still depends for me. There’s a limit of how small I’ll go. But yes, short short hair needs a smaller base usually. I can’t go smaller than about a 6x7
I dont have a problem with my bio hair getting damaged my problem is , how to not look like a bubble head. I have a beautiful serenity topper sitting in the box because it looks weird on me.
It might help to pull the topper back and have more of your bio hair come out in the front. 🙂

Do not get aa large base if you have a smaller head! The topper will not lay flat, the hair will drape into your face and it WILL be too heavy.
