Great to see you again online! Not gonna lie, I was looking forward for some updates. I hope you will get either your windows or your money back as soon as possible, it's always awful to hear about stories like these.
I'm so sorry you have had such an issue with the window installer. You are not alone, I have noticed on other renovation shows that delay in window supply and installation seems to be a worldwide problem.
The new facade should look beautiful. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. I was wondering about the original colour. Paint fades over the years, so there would surely have been a stronger colour to begin with than what is there now.
Yes it's slightly more yellow than the piece I showed, we have seen some pieces of the facade that never saw the light of day more than a few years so you are right.
Oh thank you, I was worried about what you were going to do about the exterior and I see that it will be even better than I had hoped!!! So sorry about the window problem... hope it will be resolved to your benefit! Too bad it will set you back on the project. 🤔
Do you know you can replace single pane window with a single pane glass which is triple glazing? Gives you the modern warmth and thermal energy but retains the original . The new single panel triple insulation is designed originally for historical restoration
I’ve been thinking about you two, glad to see this! The window saga continues. Here’s hoping this resolves satisfactorily. Question-as it sounds like your window guy orders and purchases from the actual window company, and then does the installation, if it gets right down to it, could you order from the window company at the builder’s rate and do the installation with your father? I know it’s a big job but maybe that could be a backup plan. Wishing you all sorts of luck with this situation and your project, bringing this property back to its elegant original state!
That is so disappointing and worrisome about the windows, it’s taken a long time to do what you’ve done and then having to wait for the windows and not knowing whether they will come through for you or not. So sorry this is happening to you, I wish you the best of luck in that they will come through for you.
I hope you get your Windows. That supplier should give you your money back. If he hasn't delivered your windows by now, what makes the judge think he will deliver them now. I will pray for you. Best of luck
Thank you! I think so too especially as he is banned from ordering from the supplier, but then again, he can have someone else order them for him, we will see in the end of may.
You need to check out a video on the SamandJessExplore channel. They were exploring a castle in Italy on the coast and it looks exactly like yours.Even the painting design and exterior architecture look alike. It's uncanny. It is their newest video
Yes what a place! Much older than ours for sure but it sure does have some similarities, even the exterior colour is very similar to what our used to be.
Good to see you again. Sorry for the shameful behaviour of the contractor and the naïveté of the judge. I hope you get your money back. We have a word for people like that in Italian. Well, we have a lot of them, but I’ll refrain from sharing. 😂
Ordering something that isn’t on stock or has to be manufactured: Cash on delivery. Never forget that. Especially in Italy. According to my italian father, an italian can nock your socks off without taking off your shoes.
Haha, that's a good saying! 😂 But yes that's what we generally do, but we couldn't do this because we ordered the windows during the bonuses and it was chaos so we had no other option.
That's so unfortunate and unnecessary, I hope that you can get your built back on track without anymore fly by night contractors. It definitely is nothing anyone deserves to go through.👍
The thing about your situation and any other building project lately is that this should not be happening. It's like the whole world of construction has gone to (you know where) in a hand basket. I have never seen in all my 57 years the hardships, headaches and outrageous cost to have a house built let alone remodel one. Hang in there. Some good will come of this.
Let us hope that your window guy is a conscientious craftsman who is just a poor money manager and can get his finances in order! These are custom-made units requiring skilled work, and there probably are not that many who can produce the quality of workmanship that you require. When you have to pay in advance there is always a risk.
Absolutely, with that beingg said, we ordered these windowss 1.5 year ago during the "bonuses" in Italy, there weren't a single company even giving us quotes back then, it was complete chaos.
@@VillaAroldi Do you have the ability to place a "lien" on the window company & it's holdings? If so do it right away... "First in time, First in line" may apply if the company goes out of business. 🙏❤️
@@VillaAroldi It isn't expensive to place a lien on the company & holdings. The longer you wait the more time others have to get in line ahead of you if they declare bankruptcy. 🙏❤️
Working with builders can be harrowing. There are those that are mostly honest but generally incompetent who don’t come for days because they juggle jobs ,then there are those who misjudge their time or the money needed for everything. Then of course there are those that are straight out dishonest and cut corners ,substitute materials,or just never intended to do the work in the first place .Our poor (excellent) builder was hospitalized after a suicide attempt. Not something we felt in any way upset about except for his situation of course.Months later, that good man refunded our money❤.Any way ,those folk we see taking on forbidding restorations such as yours and saving history in doing so ,I feel particularly sorry for .Best of luck for a fair resolution of some sort.
I am so sad that this type of thing happens frequently here. The money has been paid and the service has not been rendered. It is hard to tell the good ones from the bad. I hope you have better luck with your windows. Make him sell his property to get your money back. You should not lose out because you trusted him. shame.
Wow,that is shocking that the window guy did,it just goes to show there are bad people everywhere,No way will you get your money back,so make another plan. The facade will be amazing when youve finished,i always thought the orage was horrible but an italian thing as they do some bizzare things, anyway, good luck
Surely your lawyer will have informed you of the distinct possibility the window supplier will go bankrupt in the very near future, Prior to that he will go into Insolvency. The fact the judge has set a default period until end of May while the company has spent your money on paying taxes and is unable to order the windows strikes me as odd. I would seek advice asap. It may be wise to quickly seize assets before other creditors do.
We thought of that too, but he has not got a Limited Liability Company but a personal one, so that at least gives us a bit more comfort but otherwise you are right.
@@VillaAroldi That explains it somewhat. But in its effects may not change that much, even be worse. It's still a tad fraudulent. Better make sure and have a Plan-B agreed with your lawyer.
Hej då Henrik! Having dealt with construction in Greece and Portugal, I´m...not optimistic, to be honest. The man has dug himself into a hole and I can´t see a judge´s decision making it any different. Even if the outcome is that he has to pay you back, he can drag it out for years. It´s devastating, but rather than waste time lamenting, I would advise you to be realistic and make a plan B. Find the additional money somewhere and reorder with iron-clad insurance and refund guarantee. Abuse TH-cam for all its worth, get it to pay off! Do whatever it takes! Or you may be stuck in years of litigation and no windows.
Yes you might be right but they have changed the system here in Italy fairly recently and issues like this should be resolved within 1 year now so we still hope that it should be ok. In the meantime we cant order any new windows as he still has the chance of actually delivering them to us.
Personally, after having lived in Italy for eight years, I would never buy a property there. The bureaucracy is horrible, slow and very difficult to navigate, unless you have a good (and expensive) lawyer. It's not Sweden...
Yes you are right, it's very much a troublesome bureaucracy here but then again the country itself makes up for it, such beauty, food and overall very nice people!
Sounds like you will end up with no windows and no money paid back either because if he used your money to pay his taxes it means your money is gone and he has no money to pay you back with. Sure hope it works out though.
With all of your setbacks in the past I just have to laugh. You have no luck my friend and cannot catch a break. How's your father? At least the government got their tax dollars....right?

Absolutely, with that beingg said, we ordered these windowss 1.5 year ago during the "bonuses" in Italy, there weren't a single company even giving us quotes back then, it was complete chaos.
@@VillaAroldi Do you have the ability to place a "lien" on the window company & it's holdings? If so do it right away... "First in time, First in line" may apply if the company goes out of business. 🙏❤️
@@LoireValleyChateaux I think that's what is going to happen after end of May if he does not show up with the windows.
@@VillaAroldi It isn't expensive to place a lien on the company & holdings. The longer you wait the more time others have to get in line ahead of you if they declare bankruptcy. 🙏❤️
@@LoireValleyChateaux We are already first in line, no one else has had this problem so far.
Thank you for your kind words!
I am so sad that this type of thing happens frequently here. The money has been paid and the service has not been rendered. It is hard to tell the good ones from the bad. I hope you have better luck with your windows. Make him sell his property to get your money back. You should not lose out because you trusted him. shame.
Yes you are right, it's very frustrating. But I am sure we will be fine in the end, we will get our windows or our money back.
Wow,that is shocking that the window guy did,it just goes to show there are bad people everywhere,No way will you get your money back,so make another plan. The facade will be amazing when youve finished,i always thought the orage was horrible but an italian thing as they do some bizzare things, anyway, good luck
Thank you!
@@VillaAroldi
That explains it somewhat. But in its effects may not change that much, even be worse. It's still a tad fraudulent.
Better make sure and have a Plan-B agreed with your lawyer.
@@_PJW_ Yes we do!
Shit story....the windows😮😮
Yeah it really is!
I don't know how bad businesses stay in business. Hopefully you'll get a refund. 😊
Yeah I have no idea, he has no shame in his body I guess.
Sounds like you will end up with no windows and no money paid back either because if he used your money to pay his taxes it means your money is gone and he has no money to pay you back with. Sure hope it works out though.
@@TeresaMom1 yes, that could happen! Luckily he has done all of this in his own name and owns houses etc 🤷🏽♂️
its always window and concrete guys that are the scummy ones.
You could be right, we have not been lucky with our windows that's for sure.
So sorry you did business with a bad man! He should go to jail!
Eventually he might, im not sure what he is up to!
With all of your setbacks in the past I just have to laugh. You have no luck my friend and cannot catch a break. How's your father? At least the government got their tax dollars....right?
Haha exactly!
My father is doing great, hopefully he is back down here soon. Time will tell!
people should stop paying for things until the work is done its happening to often
Absolutely agree, but for this very time we weren't able to unfortunately.
