Exactly what I thought. In the past they messed up with the fassades. The red one on the main house its just horrible. The bricks led open would bring some interesting optical composition. 😊
It is always good to have a break in the beautiful mountains. The villa, stables, and garden are such a big project. I greatly admire your hard work and great results! Thank you for taking us along on your project.
I am sure you know what a pallet is. If the bricks are stacked on the pallet, the whole pallet can be moved around using a fork lift or pallet jack. You don't need to touch the dirt. The pallet will sit on top wherever you place it. Using the pallet precludes your having to move each brick by hand.
Thank you! It's Cervinia, but there might be a snow paradise in Slovenia too, haha. Yes, a lot of hard work but quite rewarding as there is an immediate difference.
There is a specific power tool that has a *much* wider brush for that job. I have seen it used on other renos. unsure what it is called sorry. P.S. found it here in this YT video: "Comment nettoyer ses briques ? Ep 14". Channel is called "Déborah & Paul - La Grange"
Henrik, it is a lot of hard work cleaning off the render on those walls but at the end it will look magnificent. Love the idea of an oblong window below the soffit, this will filter in some lovely light. All the best to you both from New Zealand
Some "Gentrification" projects suffer from damp. The original walls had the damaged stucco removed. It looked nice, but the stucco was there to prevent water penetration.
Yes you are correct and we will add a new protective product that repels water without suffocating the stones, it seems like it's working because I see quite a few old stables around here that have exposed brick.
Dig out a small area and let ur wife design a patio with the brick and fill it with a sand and mortar dry brush it in all the cracks with a push broom and spray it all off with a sprayer on the end of ur water hose!!! It will make a beautiful patio outside of ur big glass doors when u get it in and close to ur pool..😊😊
Love to see you back into it😊…you should really look into Tercoo rotation blaster tool for removing the rest of the plaster on your brick Walls…its just amazing!..kind regards from Denmark😉
Yes that would be an advantage but there would be so much sand and dust in the pool while we are working so we can't do that now, the pool is going to have to wait until all the exterior work is done.
Great to see you again. Two questions: 1) Are you going to stucco back over the bricks or leave them exposed, and 2) How is your father doing? I am so used to seeing him show up when the work is most difficult that I missed his presence.
Welcome back. 1- Was your daughter successful in her competition? 2-Safety glasses, please! 3- was the "plaster" cement- based? 4- Windows Saga? Any progress??? 5-Love the music- What is title? Thanks from Florida, USA
It's Anna's daughter, unfortunately she had an accident and could not continue but she did great up until that. Yes, I took you up on that later in the video when there was too much dust. I think they used too much cement for some reparations they had done previously, I managed to get rid of most of it though, it's not great for the wall as it traps moisture etc. No news on the windows, yet, it will be months before that. Which music are you referring to?
So sad to see the OSB where you beautiful glass door should be. Sending positive vibes. Maybe your window supplier will shock us all and actually deliver all the windows by May.
Love the elongated window plan. Forgive me if it's ignorant, but is there no option for media blasting the bricks to clean/polish them? Love the dogs too! Have a great week
Thanks! It would be an option, however, we only have a small bit of the scaffolding covering the stables so I would have to go back n forth with a rental machine.
@@VillaAroldi I see. The house we are looking at has star vaulted brick ceilings and some barrel vaulted brick ceilings in the "taverna" they called it. Dirty hole full of trash is what I saw. All of them have been plastered over. I am watching hoping to learn! Appreciate the response. Houses are very different her in USA or my Wife's home in PL. You guys are doing great work. Can't wait to be fixing up my own place.
Yes it would absolutely be an option, the only problem is I need to rent one and then return it ang go back and forth as I don't have scaffolding everywhere so I guess it would be too much work just getting the machine for it unfortunately.
Not at this point, as for all the remains we will deal with that later, it's not a problem, we are going to have excavators that will do a lot of work for the future outdoor kitchen and garden work.
Oh you don’t were musk to protect your lungs ..please be health conscious so important after hard work you need good health to enjoy your accomplishments ❤🎉 life is short and health is the most precious thing please protect yourself with simplicity of wearing musk !!!😢
How are you managing to do the renovations your self. According to a CIL(A) building permission you have to nominate a firm that will do and sign off in the work, and doing it yourself is not given as an option.
You should be wearing a mask when generating so much dust! I know it's a nuisance, but better safe than sorry. You have a lot of patience to remove all that plaster and cement.
I love the exposed brick - makes the barn much more characterful! Thanks for the video of the gorgeous alps.
Glad you liked it!

It's still a long way to go, but your attitude is great. ❤
Maybe use cement board rather than plaster board (gwb) in the basement electric area...

Great suggestion, it will be very different down there in the future though, it will be a habitable space without dirtfloor etc.

Try palatizing your bricks. Then you can move the pallet as needed. Worth the cost to avoid the hassle. Enjoying your progress.
Not sure I understand, should I put something underneath to remove the dirt easier or?

Do you think you'll skip the main house for a while and build the pool? The main advantage from doing that is less area for plants to grow wild.
