Don't forget, Charlemagne was born, created his empire, died, and had his empire largely die because of stupid inheritance laws. The entire Carolingian Empire, aka why Europe is the way it is today and why Germany and France exist as countries, is because of the Carolingian Empire, the entirety of which had its duration during this period. Charlemagne is one of the single most important historical figures in all of Europe, and debatably the world. He was born after the start of the middle ages and the middle ages can largely be summed up as "things directly or indirectly the fault of Charlie the Magnificent". Hell, the HRE, Prussia, and Germany only exist because of Charlie, and basically any conflict between France and Germany in the past 1200 years is because of Charlie (and dumb inheritance laws). I just... The idea of saying the period Charlie existed in never happened is mind-bogglingly stupid. You'd have a vastly easier time arguing about, say, the dark ages, which at least lacks a wealth of historical data (in Europe. China and other parts of the world happily chronologued all that).
This "Historians" theory falls apart when you look at the middle east The muslims have been keeping their own dating system based off a lunar calendar since the hejira in 622 AD when the prophet Muhammad and his first followers the muhajiurun were forced to flee from mecca to medina then known as Yathrib. The muslim year is shorter than our year being that it is lunar and not solar it has 354- 355 days compared to our 365 day calendar, but it is currently 1442 AH anno hegirae if those 3 centuries did not exist the Muslim calendar would reflect this. The Muslim powers at the time of 700- 1000 AD also would have had no reason to jump their calendar 300 years considering their ongoing conquest of Christian Spain and their attempt to invade France in the 700's. They due to theological differences and current conflicts would not have agreed with the pope much less the HRE. This conspiracy theorist should have been laughed out of any publishing house worth its ink. On the plus side if this moron can publish garbage like this that means my history of North Africa will be a masterpiece in comparison when I finish my doctorate.
What you're missing in presenting all that is something to prove that calendar started in 622AD instead of 325AD. Not saying it isn't there, just pointing out that it is a necessary part if you're actually trying to counteract the idea. Plenty of histories with other calendars existed that covered the time span, but the key is you need to be able to peg the calendars together on both sides of the rift if you want to prove that they're both equally reliable between the pegs. And don't worry about your masterpiece: The reputation of the field as a whole will always overshadow any individual's difference in merit. Reputation for the field overall is forecast to remain as sweet as that gasoline with "every scientist with a job agrees its safe" triethyllead.
I think the biggest counter evidence to this conspiracy theory is just looking at the Middle East and especially the degradation of the Byzantine empire. By cutting 614 to 911, you loose most of the sassanid Byzantine war (it clearly is documented and changed the ERE), you cut the biggest visible change on the world stage: the rise of Islam. This means this conspiracy cuts of a highly documented part of history that has been written and physically built independently of the Pope, the HRE and the ERE’s will yet the events and states of the Islamic world are known to them. Second, the permanent territorial loses of the Byzantine empire by the caliphates cannot be forged and with the jump to the year 1000, how the hell did the ERE lost all of it’s middle eastern and North African lands? So in this theory how is Byzantium even going to justify it loosing thousands of kilometres? Not just the rise of Islam can be used as a strong argument, but the loss of Italy by the Lombards is the same argument: how can you even forge the loss of territory to an enemy if said enemy took it in those phantom years? So did Byzantium just magically shrink in this theory? Also how did the ERE collaborate with the pope and the HRE, the pope’s answer to Byzantine loss of power. If the time cutting started at 614, then the HRE wouldn’t exist yet. If the time cutting started at around 1000, there would be 0 cooperation. First of all, you would need the lombards taking over Italy, then Charlemagne taking the Lombard kingdoms and then the pope naming Charlemagne holy Roman emperor because he can actually protect the pope compared to the ERE that was currently led by a woman which made her legitimacy harder to justify. German historians are the whackiest I swear

His time machine only had enough juice for one more trip, so thinking his machine must be overshoot, set it to an earlier point a couple centuries so he gets back home, and that's how he got stuck here, writing books in rage of how a bunch of stupid medieval bigshots scammed him out of his hero and his way home.

This also applies to the constellation/"comet" in our 0AD, which is said to have been a constellation of 3 objects.

I can personally say that those years did not happen, I was born in the year 68,230 BC, and I personally flipped my fancy new "Gregorian" calendar from December, 613 to January 912. Upon seeing this strange loss of 298 years, I proclaimed "1984". I held onto this until I met the prestigious author George Orwell, whom I told of my experience. George later thanked me for being the inspiration for his phenomenal novel "1984", a commentary on liberal wokeness that Orwell predicted would happen around the year 2020.

Man ancient Muslim scholars were so cool.
My thoughts exactly.

@@John.McMillan sometimes real historians do use ancient versions of the bible as historical evidence on stuff like Ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire, which are described in the bible in a good level of detail, providing a written source about them, something not so common from the perspectives it can offer, like the ones of common people. Dude, I was exposed to this via Mr. Terry history. Great video! It earned you a follow from me!
Truly amazing character development.
Najprawdopodobniej został on antydatowany, a w rzeczywistości wydano go dopiero około 1235, kiedy to Krzyżacy poczuli się zagrożeni utratą ziemi dobrzyńskiej na rzecz Konrada I mazowieckiego",
