Like, I see so many people showing random-ass websites as "proof" of outlandish claims for things done by world governments or the Illuminati or some shit, and yet they don't stop and think that these governments/groups definitely would have the power to just remove those sites or bury that information or even just have these dudes taken out so random people can't find out "the truth" about what they're doing.

I happened across a show on the history channel concerning Oak Island, in Nova Scotia. Not knowing it had been on the air for years, I watched some of the episodes. The total acreage of the 2 islands is 140 acres. They have dug, excavated (different technique), metal detected, theorized, conferenced, consulted, on and on and on. The episodes are mixed up with past season clips, an annoying narrator, and just about every modern device known to to subsoil detection and recovery of whatever. It’s still running after 12 or more years. Nada. I don’t bother; they will not stop until the money runs out.
So has that whole treasure hunt just been monopolized by these guys from the history channel? That makes the fact that it's somehow *still* going on so much dumber

Those guys are reportedly the owners of the property now, so until they hang it up, the hypothetical treasure is in private hands.

Hmmm, this is giving me cool story ideas. Aliens that send a small conclave to colonize another planet, but have to uplift and direct a local species for it because they could send so little that this is genuinely the best way. I do agree that ancient aliens is a religion . I also agree that some of their theorys are a bit far fetched . However, I also believe that they get it right in some instances . I think that no matter what Jesus would have been an alien as he is a spiritual being and not of this world. Anything not of this world would be alien. Artificial insemination would be one way of describing immaculate conception . The powers needed to separate the red Sea could have been superior technology and anything that was done that early man didn't understand, including aliens with super powers , or space ships , or whatever , would seem miraculous and certainly they would have been considered God's. I also think that there is evidence in support of those claims. For example, if it wasn't a space ship that was painted in some of our old masterpieces than what was it? And there's the old sculptures that show astronauts in space suits. Why would they even exist unless they were made by people who saw them. I think that their theorys are just as good as any other theory and they make sense to me. They made me more of a believer than a non believer . I don't think that evolution got it right.
My theory on masks is that there were pandemics even back then and the face coverings were for the spreading of disease and not for religious reasons. Crazy ? Maybe, but the Bible does speak of diseases that wiped out civilizations. Just a thought

I love how genuinely slapped together some of the claims on this show are. Like I might have commented before, if aliens gave Davinci all of his designs why did they give him designs that wouldn't have worked? Sure the flying machines and the tank are impressive but... we can run models and do math to determine that none of them would have worked. So, what?

I recall the show said Socrates was influenced by aliens or was an alien when he made Philosophy. But I do agree that it does seem to play up how the achievements of none European ones we're influences to a ridiculous degree.

-the creature aliens hybridised with to make humans
-a hyprid of human and alien.
The big plot twist at the end of the show will be that there were never any humans, all of us were just aliens all along.

Flood myths exist because of natural disasters occur so often course the ancients would sit around and come up with a myth to explain them. Chinese whispers make the floods sound bigger and better and the next thing you know it’s the entire earth that was engulfed in water. The fact that its many different cultures have similar myths can be explained by stories travelling as wanderers would go from town to town telling stories for food and lodging. If you examine the myths from isolated cultures they vary quite widely from the myths of peoples that weren’t isolated by oceans and vast distances.
Dragons, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that ancient miners found fossils and myths sprung up around them. The depictions of dragons vary depending on the origin of the fossils as they vary also. It’s also another case of stories travelling.
Pyramids, well a pyramid is the easiest shape to make a tall structure of stones built on top of one another so the foundations will take the weight. The higher you go the more weight is put on the bottom courses so you’ve got to put less stones each course to minimise the down force created.
The problem is logic gets in the way of the grift so I can’t blame von Daniken just making shit up as he goes along. It makes for a better story.
