Emperor coming back would be the sign of the end. Not the End Times, just the end of the story of Wh40k, ten millenia of torment, another dark age, finally coming to an end.
The game would still exist, but we'd enter entirely new era, deserving of the change to the title. It wouldn't just be "Warhammer 40 000" anymore, but something like "Wh40k; Imperium Reborn" or "Wh40k; Age of Conquest".

If Sanguinius did come back, the whole Imperium will surely erupted in a frenzy mode. Pretty sure almost every imperial agencies and institutions are ready to pledge loyalty and service to the Angel of the Emperor, no questions asked. As for space marines chapter, I don't see any objections from them taking orders from the Great Angel. Sanguinius is just that awesome..
As compared to Papa smurf, there was a conversation about the stories regarding the presence of a primarch that was being exaggerated and papa G told him all of that is not true. Imagine the scenery in Terra if Sanguinius returns.. every stories that's being exaggerated about primarch will definitely be true and Sanguinius would immediately be proclaimed as a holy presence as well as the saviour for the Imperium of Man.
There was a conversation when Papa G returned, his demonic brothers who felt his presences all wanted to take a piece of him. Not worrying at all it seems albeit few caution here and there. But with Sanguinius, I bet not every demons brothers of his will want to take on him alone unless there would be some alliance of sorts. Chaos will be somewhat overwhelmed if Sanguinius returns. The level of HOPE he brings are too great and that's why I guess he won't be returning... It's just too sad to not able to see the Great Angel again. I wish he would be revived..

As you said sanguinus is all about hope, and when he died it's fairly symbolic of that hope dying, when he returns it would be the return of hope to the imperium altogether, which is I think the entire point.

Sanguinius was already uncomfortable with how the people of the Imperium saw/worshiped him during the Great Crusade, if it has been fully blown into the monstrosity that is the Ecclesiarchy, I believe he would very much be uncomfortable all the time. Probably throw himself onto every battlefield possible to avoid all of the crowds.

Honestly Sanguinius might take to the Primaris even more when Cawl tells him that he can cure or has cured the black rage and red thirst.
As for his demon brothers I think they would actually be at least a little scared to face Sanguinius except for Angron because he's Angron. I actually would like to see Sanguinius and Magnus going head to head on the moon where Guilliman and Magnus fought.

No, a figurehead doesn't have any true power. Sanguinius was the emperor, but Roboute was the Prime minister. It was Roboute's job to do what Sangunius wanted in regards to civil affairs.

Let us not forget that Sanguinius is foremost a Warrior Primarch as in he excels in combat and leading the Astartes from the frontlines. However, the Imperium is in desperate need for a superb governor and an administrator. Roboute Guilliman is the Primarch that the Imperium needs right now. Also, let's cut Guilliman some slack because he is basically trying to do what the Emperor did when he still walked amongst mankind. He must be in serious stress right now... I just hope that his brothers return to aid him so that the loyal sons of the Emperor can prepare for his inevitable return! :)

You can't forget that sanguinius was an excellent diplomat as well and that he was the closest contender to war master after horus
You all seem to be forgetting that Guilliman made Sanguinius regent of the Imperium Secundus over himself and the Lion, because he was the right choice.
Both the Angel and the Lion embodied the Emperor better than any other loyalist primarch, with Horus joining them if we were to include the traitors. The only primarch close to being an exact copy of the Emperor is El'Jonson, which is why Sanguinius is more popular overall - because he is the most human of the best primarchs. He, Lion and Horus are all great warriors and diplomats, moreso than any other, but Horus is a traitor and Lion, as much as I'm a fan, embodies his father's worst trait, which is to say, he sees his legion more as tools than his sons, just as the Emperor sees the primarchs. Sanguinius doesn't have this problem, the Blood Angels *are* his sons, not the tools he uses to ensure his father's dream comes to fruition.
Guilliman is already visibly aging because of the massive stress it is to run the imperium, I hate it that people hate on him for it. #stand with Smurf
The only reason Horus beat Sanguinius is because Horus was empowered by the 4 Chaos gods directly and unlike other enemies, Sanguinius could not channel his angelic rage that makes him such an overpowering fighter in combat against Horus. Like the Emperor, Sanguinius still remembered Horus as the brother he was closest to and even knowing how much he had fallen, he still could not bring himself to truly fight his wayward brother.
Sanguinius rage is powerful enough to overpower Khornes rage, that is telling something, but unlike other berserkers, Sanguinius retains full control of his combat prowess even while he is empowered by his rage.
But Russ beat him.
I like the fan theory about the death of Sanguinius and Horus was a cover up, especially the bit about the Emperor's compassion making him hold back. The Black Rage was already starting to emerge within him and the Blood Angels by the Battle of Terra. During their battle, Sanguinius gives into the Red Thirst and/or Black Rage and destroys Horus. The Emperor comes in, and Sanguinius is already too far gone. Sanguinius does some damage to the Emperor, and the Emperor is forced to kill his favorite son. But the Emperor, even in his state, knows the Imperium needs a symbol of hope. So, he obliterated Horus' soul and gives Dorn the current story.

The blood Angel's still have one of his feathers preserved. It was what helped save Seth in the whole Baal gets eaten by tyranids.
I think it would have been a great story. He wakes up and has completely lost his foresight. He's happy to be back, he see's his sons pure joy. His mind turns to his brothers filled with nostalgia he asks about them, they all have perished or lost to the warp. But what about his father? on life support. He's lost, confused, alone, and devastated. What did he die for? Desperate for direction he turns to his sight only to be plagued with the death visons that have tormented his children for centuries.

I think the best possible scenario for the imperium would be: Guilliman leads the empire, hes the best administrator/empire builder of the primarchs, and he makes Sanginius warmaster.

I thought not. It's not a story the Ecclesiarchy will tell you. It's a Custodes legend. The Man-Emperor of Mankind was a great psyker, so powerful and so wise that he could use his powers to influence the nascent Imperium to create... hope. He had such a knowledge of his powers that he could even keep mankind from religion.
Psyker powers are a path to many abilities some considered to be unnatural.
He became so powerful, that the only thing that could stop him was him losing control of his Imperium, which eventually, of course, happened. Unfortunately, he made his 18 Primarchs to lead his Imperium, then 9 turned against him in the Horus Heresy.
Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

Also, remember that he was injured when he held The Eternity Gate. He wasn't even at his 100% when he singlehandedly faced an entire chaos marine army!

Guilliman has given a remark that miracles started to happen wherever he is due to the worshiping. Just imagine Sanguinius, he's already an absolute beast on the field of battle. Now having the benefit of the worships, he's basically a lesser god compared to his father. Sanguinius is the Emperor's grace and wrath, now with a divine aura that would burn away the spawns of the warp, an aura that would make his foes drop their weapons and bow in awe, an aura that would make lesser men think they're in presence of a god. He might even be able to convince some of the traitor primarchs to return to the fold.
When Guilliman returned and took control, the high lords tried to get rid of him. But in case of Sanguinius, they wouldn't even DARE to think of such a thought and be grateful when Sanguinius offered them the choice of a life in luxury when he takes over. And for his beauty, grace and charisma, Sanguinius could easily convince the Imperium to start forging a permanent alliance with the Eldar, the Tau, and at least a cease fire with the Necron.
I can see this future could become a thing should Sanguinius' soul is found (and last i heard it's somewhere inside the Vengeful Spirit, not an easy feat to acquire it), because i know the Emperor would be willing to take great risk to focus a great amount of his power to see the most beloved son returned.
This would take at least 5 novels to explain. And then the Blood Angels would turn into the Poster Marines that the Ultramarines are now. He would accept the Primaris because of the cured curse and lead a glorious crusade. But he will realize he needs a master at logistics and resurrect Guilliman. Yay Ultramarines!
Actually, I can see Sanguinius resurrecting Guilliman and waking up the Lion so the 3 can deal better with all the Imperium.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for the Black Rage or Red Thirst. The Primaris Marines didn't take long to succumb to either. This is explained in at least the two novels of Darkness in the Blood and Astorath: Angel of Mercy.
That being said, I am forever hopeful my hawk boi father returns!

I wonder if Sangy pants could convince Magnus to turn loyalist. I mean, we all love Sanguinius, and he's quite charismatic so if ANYONE could convince Magny Magic, it would be our Glorius Hawk-boy.

I would hope he’d give every single Lamenter a hug and tell them how much he loves them and how proud he is of them.
The biggest problem with a Sanguinius return is the Imperium itself.
The Lion would break systems to make them work for him, Guilliman will work within and change systems to make them work for him, but Sanguinius may struggle staying between the lines and trying to make 'everybody' happy.
Sanguinius would be 100% for the primaris since Cawl initially believed he had cured the flaw in the gene seeds like the red thirst....oh how wrong he was.
Also Sanguinius would have no clue about the black rage or even the idea of the legions being broken up. He dosnt even know that they won the war against horus!
The whole thing would be a total mind fuck for him.
I have been a fan of your content for a little while now Chapter Master Valark and this is probably your best series in your channel yet. Keep up the amazing work!
i could see that sanguinius would use the imperial religion to a digree, just altering things as needed to suit things more apropriatly. otherwisle i agree, he would be too mutch for the game. so while i am a BA player and would love to use him in 40K as well as 30K, i think for now at least he should be left as the spirit aiding the blood angels gean-seed line.
tho i also think that if he returns at a point after guiliman has come back guiliman probably would give sanguinius the sword

Sanguinius as the new Emperor, Guilliman as prime minister and Johnson as the warmaster.
These three together could not only reform the imperium, but bring humanity back to the golden age.
All the other Primarchs would just be interchangeable if these 3 returned
Nassir Amit defied Sanquinius with the Angel's blade at his throat. I doubt Gabriel Seth would be much different. His opinion wouldn't be different and he'd voice it as openly toward Sanquinius as he did to Dante.
True but I believe Seth would acceot and even welcome Sanguinious in the end. Seth is a warrior first, like Sangiy, and a leader/"father" second, like Sangy. Basically they both love to fight and have absolute love for the Astartes under their care and command.

Boi, Sanguinius fought off the entire Chaos army alone, at the Eternity Gate, breaking a bloodthirster's spine over his knee at one point. After defending the gate all by himself, he still fought Horus, alone. MVP of the Siege of Terra.

I don't know Valrak. I would have 2 ideas.
1. Sanquinius would suffer early symptoms of Black Rage and because of this I would have anger issues. Making Dante his voice of reason.
2. Flash Tearers would still get angry about Primaris and maybe become close to loyal renegate chapter, because they just see their father figure wanting to replace them.

I just play with "That Man Is Dead" trope here. That this Sanquinius would be different from the HH Sanquinius that we know and love. I just like themes that some tragic event migth change character.

IF by ANY BLOODY miracle Sanquinius would EVER return to 40k setting I would rather want to see some way changed man rather them just bring the SAME guy from the past.

If sanguinius were to have a weakness, it would most likely be linked to chaos exploiting his black rage. Also maybe his return might force an alliance of the demon primarchs to solely remove him.
First, Sanguinius does not have the Black Rage, he has the Red Thirst.
Second, the Daemon Primarchs would become active, but they would never work together for anything short of Big E returning.

I like this hypothetical video. Knowing Sanguinius he'd track down Dorn (discover the truth) and bring him back if he can to assist him as well as the Khan. Those 3 defended Terra plain and simple. Also he would also ally the eldar, imperium, and neurons against chaos. Also part of the deep seeded anger the Flesh Tearers have is aside from the breaking the legions. I seem to recal in the third Blood Angels book, that the final battle took place in Sanguinus's tomb, in front of his body that was in stasis. I guess it's possible that some Yanari soul magic could restore him. I used to suspect that the Sanguinar was sanguinus reborn as a warp entity, but that has since been disproven.
I do think Dorn and Alpharius could make a comeback. All they found from Dorn was his hand. In the Fulgrim books, they cut off fulgrims foot and it grew back. So I imagine losing a hand is no big deal. And Alpharius just cause .... I am Alpharius.
Thinking how heroic sanguinus was knowing that if he stayed loyal he was going to die and that he alone could probably turn the tide and he was being tempted by litteral demons if he turned he could have assumed so much power and saved himsel from death but he stayed loyal sacrificing himself knowing what the cost of that would be
His body is on Baal...but in a Sarcophagos with ever flowin molten gold and blood. You can read that in the 2nd Blood Angels Omnibus or the Novelle series Red Third/Black Tide. Rafen fought on top of the Sarcophagos against a horde of mutants to defend it.
Inmo the question is if he was sane at all. One of the bloodline's flaws is a direct cause of him being slain and the mindbreaking anguish he felt echoing through his "children". A pristine Sanguinus would be a blessing but there is a chance he would be raving mad.

As Sanguinius’s spirit is still trapped on the vengeful spirit and it’s been confirmed that primarchs can be cloned, there is no reason that Sanguinius cannot return. On top of this the emperors sword is capable of giving a daemon “true death”. Sanguinius or even the Lion with the emperors sword would cause fear in the hearts of any daemon on the battlefield, even Daemon Primarchs

Perhaps the Lamenters will finally be free of their atrocious luck as well. I can imagine it now, a small team of Lamenters are protecting civilians from a Chaos invasion. They know they’re not going to last long, but they desperately fight to keep the civilians alive. Then, from the dark sky, their angel arrives. One hundred centuries worth of praying and pleading for their primarch to return, and now, he returns to save them all. He wipes Chaos off the planet. He then meets with his successor chapter, weeping for how much they’ve suffered in his absence.
If he ever comes back, I hope we get a trilogy of books, where we do not know if he can brought back until the very end, when the moment of truth finally occurs.

Valrak, bro, you are a bit off with the whole church Sanguinius angle. Ol' Angel Butt hated the reverance and adulation he received back in the day. He only reluctantly allowed it (Scars novel, contrasting Fulgrim and Sang) and never embraced it.
The sheer reverance, the blind faith, they'd give him would probably make him very uneasy.
He might modify the worship, but I doubt embrace it.
Ecclesiarchy loses their minds. Dorn would notice for a second before returning to "fortifying" their position, while the iron warriors continued to seige. White scars would halucinate when coming down before shooting up another line of jet. Blood magpies would strategize a way to steal his wings. Calgar would try to bribe yvraine into raising rowboat girlyman. Sanguinius would stumble upon Vulkan booping barking toads on the snoot. And eventually convince corvus to stop trying to stuff himself back in the engine of woes
My ultimate combination.
Guilliman as the administrator.
Dorn as the military commander.

Silver There was a moment in a novel(don’t remember it’s name sadly)but it was during The Great Crusade.Sanguinius killed one of his Space Marines and drank his blood,which is the Red Thirst.Horus spotted him and they both agreed out of mutual friendship/reluctance to keep it quiet between themselves.And the Black Rage is basically what Sanguinius felt before death.Pure rage.
