Gun Barrel City is 22 miles away. Hotel rates are reasonable. I usually book a room 3-4 months in advance. Also, there are plenty of good restaurants on the main road (334) or W. Main. The Canton Flea Market is incredible. Its the largest in the world. You will need at least 2-3 days to see it all. I usually get to the hotel in Gun Barrel City on a Thursday evening. Get to the flea market before 9 am on Friday so I get a up front parking spot. On Saturday, get there by 830 am.
Tyler is a great option too! And my lower back calls for a scooter. Actually this past month- I did 2 of the 3 days totally on foot just to test out my scooter theory-and yes I personally need a scooter! 😜😜
@@thecantonjunkie Well take care of yourself, I'm 61 and i know if i were to get a scooter i would wear it out. I have been going to Canton Trade Days since the 70s. I got a lot of videos on Canton Trade Days if you want to check them out. Have a nice weekend.
Hi Scott! Such a great question! Local Air BnBs for First Monday are usually lacking closet space and tend to be ‘rustic.’ In a perfect world, I would personally love a modern/updated space that isn’t theme-y. Something with lots of natural light and painted white inside. Full length mirror is a must, too. Many places have a sliding barn door for the bathrooms and really I’d prefer a normal door that shuts all the way vs the trendy alternative. Distance wise, I personally don’t want to drive further than 10 minutes to get from the First Monday Grounds to my room. I have done it, but further is not my first choice. Something well lit outside for safety and unloading the car from a day of shopping. Easy self-entry too! And also after we have spent a whole day at the grounds, we then head to our room, completely forgetting to stop somewhere for snax and drinks. And we are too tired to go back out! Lol Maybe a welcome basket with a few sweets and snax would be good! I hope this helps!
You left out a disgusting thing there where in that flea market there's hundreds of backyard breeders and puppy millers selling puppies a lot of them can be sick and that area is filled with parvo.
I’ve heard rumors through the years of this but also know of tons of successful stories from adding one of these puppies to a family. I personally am a proponent of adopt, don’t shop, but many families find their fur family in Canton. If there is a Parvo problem, some kind of investigative reporter needs to research that-something of which I am not. 😉
Hi!! I stopped in your place this past Antiques Week! Your showroom and that entire facility y’all are in is just beautiful! And omg that lunch Buffett was the best surprise of it all 🤣😍 We miss y’all in Canton!
Glad I watched this! I remembered to make my reservations for October canton days. Woohoo!!
This upcoming October? Dang! You are ahead of the game!!!! Get it!
First Monday Trade Days is on my bucket list. I love flea markets & someday hope to get to Canton.
You must! I’d recommend March, April, May, Oct, and November as the best months to visit especially for first timers! Hope to see you there!

Wow! I’ve been going for 10 years and it’s just the best! I’m sure a lot has changed over the decades!
Tyler is 40 miles away. Nearly all the hotels are in town, away from the hwy, I-20.
I am a vendor there . The weather
More like the crazy weather forecasts! 🤪🤪🤪
I may build Airbnb just north of I20 (3 mi). What do u look for in a perfect world for your First Monday Airbnb??

If I see any at upcoming shows I’ll let you know the price points!
Total BS, more like a Canton booster film on why to spend more $$$$ in Canton.
It’s called sarcasm 😉
