There is an area that sells animals called Dog Alley. Mostly puppies but I’ve also seen for sale: birds of all varieties, chickens, roosters, pigs, goats, kittens, peacocks, goats, and cows. I’m sure it varies monthly based on what breeders are there and what animals they brought. Exact breeds and reptiles-that part I’m not sure about. I don’t go to dog alley much because I want to take ALL the puppies with me and my little heart can’t handle it!!!!!

Thanks for the topic idea! Ive had a similar idea on my list for some time but just haven’t been able to flesh it out just yet. Never having been a vendor, I don’t feel like I can tell a vendor what area to sell is right for them, their product, and their customer. However, if you watch my other videos especially the grounds tours, you may get a better idea of the areas and what suits you best. What kind of times will you have for sale?

Yes there are vintage clothing vendors-but it’s most often casual clothing like tees and denim. You can find nicer pieces here and there like dresses and fur coats. Also, you never know what vendors will pop up and have some neat vintage items! That’s half the fun. I’ve never seen a vintage shoe booth other than cowboy boots. Shoes would be mixed in with other booths. Vintage clothing will be spread around the outdoor areas. You can also find vintage clothing at the Dixie Lofts, Civic Center, and tons of used denim at The Porch on Row 46. The Civic center vendor also has vintage formal and wedding dresses. Hi! How exciting! First start with Air BnB to see if there’s anything available. I recommend the Acorn Hideaway Suites in Canton. They are rustic rooms and the hosts are wonderful! I prefer to stay in town cuz after a day of running the grounds…I’m tired and don’t want to drive far! There are regular hotels in canton as well but their price doubles for First Monday weekends. The next closest town to look into is Wills Point-there is a Best Western there. I’ve also stayed as far as Emory in a yurt!

For a newbie, I say the best place to park is the first parking area you drive upon! Also, you’ll want to download the Trade Day Navigator App for your trip: You’ll be able to drop a pin where you parked so you can easily find your way back to it!

We go quite often. We always park in back of the Civic Center and shop in that area mostly. Hope to see you there!

No admission-it’s free! But, parking is $5 or $10 depending on the lot. If u want to do some extra walking, you can park at the Canton Marketplace for free and walk over to the grounds.

Hahahah Yes I admit I have made a point to try and slow down to pronounce the T because I say it so fast otherwise and it’s comes out more like Caaa-nnnnn! 😂😂 It’s on purpose for the newbies to actually know what I’m saying-but my normal vernacular is to say it like you!

Hi Scott! Such a great question! Local Air BnBs for First Monday are usually lacking closet space and tend to be ‘rustic.’ In a perfect world, I would personally love a modern/updated space that isn’t theme-y. Something with lots of natural light and painted white inside. Full length mirror is a must, too. Many places have a sliding barn door for the bathrooms and really I’d prefer a normal door that shuts all the way vs the trendy alternative. Distance wise, I personally don’t want to drive further than 10 minutes to get from the First Monday Grounds to my room. I have done it, but further is not my first choice. Something well lit outside for safety and unloading the car from a day of shopping. Easy self-entry too! And also after we have spent a whole day at the grounds, we then head to our room, completely forgetting to stop somewhere for snax and drinks. And we are too tired to go back out! Lol Maybe a welcome basket with a few sweets and snax would be good! I hope this helps!

Yay Denise!! That’s amazing! November was such a great month to visit-I just love all the hustle and bustle. And it’s so easy to empty the pockets haha! And I love downtown canton, and they are always improving it too! Such good food and great shops. We eat at Val’s, Pony Expresso, and Latham Bakery regularly. Isn’t the book shop so cool? And some of my favorite clothing has come from the downtown merchants. I’m so happy you found my info helpful! That’s exactly why I’m doing this! Hope you can visit again soon!!!🛼
