Since I got this game about 9 days ago, it's become my obsession. That graze mechanic, slick visuals, stellar sound track, perfectly crafted difficulty modes (which if you play on easy, you'll still be challenged but will also feel like a God for completing each stage), and it's replay-ability value with trying new weapon set ups and such, really make this game stand out.
One of the best shmups I've ever played!

EPIC review! Such a thorough job! You deserve WAY more views and WAY more subs man!! Interestingly enough, I actually just obtained the Danmaku 3 Unlimited physical a week or so ago and even though I haven't played a tonne yet, I'm really enjoying the music, action, controls, mechanics and everything! No complaints here. Keep the vids coming, your stuff is wicked!

      Wow - thanks!
I just started this channel a month ago, and purely for fun - so I don't mind if there aren't too many views / subscribers. It's a pretty niche theme. Really nice to know someone's enjoying it, though!
Hope you get as much out of Danmaku Unlimited 3 as I did - it's a really top game.

Fantastic review. Sold me on grabbing the physical off eBay. Thanks for the solid content.

I love the click. Love this game. My god my first bullet hell and easily my fav. So far. We need to get them to have online leaderboards.

I bought the game as a digital first, and now will have a physical copy in a few days for the inevitable death of the Switch eShop (N++ Ultimate Edition is next). This game is amazingly addictive, and actively incentivizing risks by grazing bullets just adds to it. And this is also what Id recommend as someone's first shmup.
Edit: Ive even played this game with one hand while giving blood. The controls had to be mapped somewhat alien, but I did it

I bought the game. It's so simple to get through most stages. You can simply hold down the fire and you will pass through most of the stage(s) you don't even have to move ...just stay at the bottom in the middle and keep the fire pressed.

I'm looking to buy a shmup on the switch to take away with me on holiday this weekend. I'm worried about difficulty though as I'm sure these kinds of games are hard as nails. Would this game be suitable for a beginner to the genre? Cheers

Don't know about this one, bullet hells are usually brutal. Two of my favs though which are comparitively on the easier more doable side of the genre are Ecschatos and Andre Dunos 2.
The latter goes on sale frequently for 5 bucks or even less though, so. Might wanna wait on that one
I've heard Jamestown is very accessible as well, quite well received although Ive yet to Olay it myself
For sure would look into the above three though

@@jackburton2680 Thanks for the recommendations! I have had Ando Dunos in my wishlist for a couple of weeks now and I'm waiting for that sale price to drop. I hadn't heard of the other ones you mentioned though. They are in the wishlist now too. Cheers! 👍🏽🙂

Good review, but I'd change the thumbnail you have on this one. With such a popular, major game you should get more views on this. This thumbnail just isn't on par with your other ones. Give it a go, nothing to loose, make it match you other quality thumbnails. Just an idea to help you out.

After hearing physical release, I went straight to amazon. Only to see that the game costs £90. Excuse my French but fuck that. Guess I'll just have to get digital. Proper pain in the arse that loads of games that I want physical, are only digital. I've recently started playing shmups? Kinda re living my childhood. I hear you meantion bullet hell or something there abouts. I was more into regular shooters but these ones look fun too, if maybe a bit difficult to dodge all the bullets. I've recently been playing loads of geomortry wars, Skyfoce reloaded & anniversary n few others on ps4.. Proper addictive genre of games. I only bought a switch few weeks ago and these shooters are prefect for hand held play. Along with so many other styles of indie, retro etc. there's so much choice that it's hard to decide what to buy. Especially in the nintendo e shop. Don't help that there's tons of trash mobile games there. Oh this game you reviewed is about £9 in e shop so I'm deff buying it.
