Is the Halo TV show actually good?

- After 2 years I finally sit down and watch Season 1 of the Halo TV show. I give some explanation of why I waited so long to watch it and finally my thoughts after I watch the entire season.
A someone new to Halo, this was a nice assessment.
For me, I enjoyed watching the first season. But I was just looking for some sci-fi that does not feature trashing an established character to prop up a self-insert, and on that regard they (mostly) delivered.
Yeah I think that if you knew nothing about the Halo lore, it is mostly fine (I mean the fact that it ended and you are still not on what the show is named for, that's... well its something).
Admittedly I am judging it as a huge Halo fan with a Halo tattoo. I am not... impartial.
For sure going to check out the show but the changes remind me of reading peoples comments/post about the changes they would make to a game they didn't like without realizing they changes would make wouldn't fit with the rest of the series that the game is from.
Exactly, that was my concern going into this.
I am already disappointed by there being such big changes. But what is the ripple effect of those changes and did they properly think it through.
Halo has a lot of lore in it and certain critical events only make sense happening if certain lore is in place.
