My grandpa did time for attempted murder & arson in Moundsville in 1946. He used to tell us stories about hearing weird things at night in his cell, how he was sent to the hole & it was so dark & he felt like someone was with him breathing down his neck & how the guy in the cell next to him went crazy because he kept hearing/seeing things. I’ve always wanted to visit Moundsville! I live in Harpers Ferry, WV & it has a pretty crazy haunted history too! Love you guys!

I personally asked Russell lassiter how he did it and what he thought about before he killed Red. The dark look in his eyes are enough to haunt you. He doesnt blink at all. I also asked why he did it and his answer is chilling too.
That the reality that we all have spirits. Unless they faked it which I doubt.

@@jr6905 How did I see him and ask him? To answer that question he is still currently in the prison system. No, I'm not an ex inmate I just maintain care custody and control of them.

My dad worked there until it closed. He said there was weird noises. Especially one floor wasn't used and sounded like someone walking. They would look and no one to be seen. I would love to go in there.
I think he caught the chair himself, probably unintentionally and startled himself. But I’m just a cynical ass lol

doubt many people have the patience to 24 hours of footage and im pretty sure the camera battery would die (idk im not an expert)

I’ve visited this place. It was crazy. Had my hair pulled near Red’s cell, and got locked in one of the cells by a tour guide with my permission, and the mechanism malfunctioned leaving me stuck in there for a while. I was so glad when it finally opened lol. There were a few other things but I don’t want to write a book here. This was all during the day. Had no desire to go back at night.

@@adenbaksh4843 they used to. Daytime was regular tours. Night was ghost hunting. You’d have to call to see if they still do it. Would have been cool, but I left the area before doing that.

@@mckenziedenea Hope you make it back again. It isn't likely that I'll return, as I've been there twice, and want to go to other locations I haven't been to. If I ever do come back to WV I'll probably go to the Trans-Allegheny Asylum in Weston. I was there to visit a patient as a young child, and it was hella scary. I'd love to see what it's like now that it's not being used as a hospital anymore. The building itself was intimidating enough as a kid, but with patients still being present it was terrifying. I'll never forget it.

I loved Fear!! Scariest Places on Earth was another great show.
I used to love Fear! “Oh my God my mascara is like running” was the best episode. My kids if I cry and I am wearing makeup one of us is going to say it. They should bring it back for us old schoolers.

i’m from west virginia. can confirm this place is CRAZY haunted. also if you like the architecture of the penitentiary look up parkersburg high school, it was built by the same man who built the penitentiary

On Sunday November 15 1992, the guards felt comfortable letting inmates walk around.
Believed to be a good friend, an inmate named Rusty Lassiter walked to Red’s cell.
They talked a little. Laughing and joking around. Then Rusty pulled out a sharp piece of metal. Pulled and sharpened off of his own bed frame.
Then plunged it into Red’s body. Repeating 37 times, until the guards finally arrived to see Red’s cell. The walls of #20 were drenched in blood.
When josh gets old and has grandkids he’s going to have good stories to tell. This video is amazing!

When I was little my parents would threaten to drop me and my sisters off here if we did behave. I remember telling mom I wanted to go to the pretty castle.
The museum was added about 4 years ago! At first it was just walking into a waiting room like how most jails are now. I’m glad to see you went there. It’s a big part of history in Moundsville.

49:05 when josh was speaking to the camera it looked like not only his shadow but a dark figure was behind him and when he looked away from the camera it looks like the figure flew away in the same direction

Officers would shoot inmates that stepped outside the line, so some inmates would push others out the line.

Explored this place a few months ago. Definitely want to go back for an investigation. This place just felt different the moment that you walked in. As soon as you even got in the parking lot you could just feel the energy. The kitchen area was absolutely insane. We could see shadows when we were there during the day.

I remember seeing this prison on MTVs Fear back in 2000. This was like the first haunted prison I'd ever seen and I was 11 years old, I thought it was so cool. Definitely a scary place, I love that Exploring with Josh went here.

Been following this place for years. One of the haunted locations Id love to investigate. This and Eastern State penn is on my bucket list. I know of some cool locations here in Indiana if you ever make it this way. We got some good spots here but would love to join the investigation,would be so cool to hunt with you, Seth and the rest of the crew
What I would like to know is even though the evp session sounded real and told them what cell they were and and their name and what happened to them, they could have asked the managers of this place if they have any documents of the past inmates for even more proof, and if it is true that it was the right person, this would be even more shocking

I have visited Alcatraz back in 2016, but this is next level!! Can't believe how gruesome this place is, holy shit!!😳😭 The cells where this one group leader was stabbed is TINY 😳 and underground . No wonder everyone went even more crazy down there....

I had seen a ghost hunting video on this and they said a women hung herself from a door frame and if you go at night into that particular room you can feel something hanging in the door way, and the children’s ward there was a video of a ball being moved backwards and forwards from one of the guys to a ghost

Lynnewood Hall in Philadelphia is off limits you guys, it's protected by a security system. They used to have two guard dogs there but since the security system has been installed they took the dogs.
