Good stuff. I had a 5192 (or something similar to that model) back in 1999. It came with two great games. Elf bowling and a golf game that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of! Do any of your machines have a golf game loaded on it? If so could you please tell me the name of the game? I would greatly appreciate it! I've been searching for a while and cannot find anything on a golf game that came preloaded on any Presario. It was a super simple game but it was awesome!
I have not done an OEM load of the software but I do have a 4800 restore and also have a Presario 5160 which should be similar, I will be doing a video on it shortly stay tuned!
I'm trying find my old presario, and maybe you know what it was. I thought it was a 4800 series unit, beige, with a sliding tray drive and the door. RCA A/V jacks near the top of the front. But I swear it had a Pentium 1 233mhz in it, not a P2. I believe the system was originally bought in Australia. I received it in 1998 or 1999 from an Aussie friend when their business upgraded. I think it had a 6gb hard drive maybe? I built an athlon XP system after moving, probably around fall of 2001, and got rid of the presario. Now I want it back lol Does any of this sound right?
Hey! Sorry I didnt realize I had notifications off and wasnt seeing replies! They made these beige units all the way up to the 4840 where they changed them to jet black so a 4814 is probably what you had they had the tray instead of a slot drive! I actually have 3 now 4 of these and Im going to be selling them off, feel free to shoot me a message on IG if youd like! Always love chatting its Yougotniiick. They did offer most of the USA models in AUS Id bet its a 4814. I have a 4834 thats a P1 and the rest are P2 4824s or up.
It probably be a better ebay find but an IDE Hard drive to USB enclosure would be ideal for your task or they make headers for IDE to SATA drive adapters, either of those would work, since modern units dont have IDE, OR just pop the drive into an IDE PC and copy the stuff you want to a USB drive, I can expand further if needed.
@@EricIsMe10 Of course any time! Also they do make a IDE to sata drive interface on amazon that Ive had decent results with its about 25 bucs! Just type that into amazon its the top rated one! Happy to help

compaq persario multi-media rocket pc i call it
Oh and that’s the way to call it! It was for sure a rocket in physical looks and speeds especially back when it came out
Any idea how I could hook the hard drive up to a modern pc and get the contents of it off?
