Physicists are capable of working in all kinds of sectors with their transferable skills they gained in grad school. They even work in social sciences, we literally have a multidisciplinary field called Social Physics that studies human social dynamics in societies using the models we developed in physics.

They should use AI developed in a way to bridge nerve endings in the spinal cord that will deliver signal through it to the regions needed to gain mobility .
Instead of stem cells , create AI that builds and bridge in organic form so that through direct injection or surgery applied directly at the area of trauma.
Let AI grow and learn where to direct as the brain signals try to divert to regions of the body through thought process and rehabilitation exercise training.
Just get a new bridge point established in the nerve receiving signal .
If a bridge connection can be made for the brain signal to pass through the body will reroute and adapt with training .

Real laws with teeth & public over-site to prevent medical procedure & drug corruption all throughout their industries with real enforceable fast tracked & costly penalties if violated, including, but not limited to denying them any form of financial funding & banking resources at all of your financial institutions. This is what's truly required to get your country's medical procedures back up to speed & drug costs down again. Heavy government regulation always equates to costly middle men, and much higher overhead costs, which thus equates into way higher medical procedures & prescription costs passed on to the patients. What's wiser, being a real hard *** leader on medical & drug companies, or slowly allowing them to bleed your country dry & eventually bankrupting your nation for every cent you have & force future generation to be enslaved at birth for your debts & your sin for not having put a full stop to the nation's bloodletting issue decades ago. This new generation must not repeat our mistakes, else surely face losing the last bit of their true freedoms, killing generational wealth in their country forever & their entire middle class with it. To me this question of what to do is a no-brainer! How about you? What say you?

When you have something that just has been discovered or created
You take many precautions before presenting that creation or discovery or information out to the masses
You wanna test and research every single aspect of it top to bottom throughly for years, for so many hazardous and health and protective reasons, making sure it's safe or works and how long it last or survive it's durability or stability
You go about it depending on what your dealing with.
So in this case this is a very, very sensitive study.
It also depends on if you dealing with a discovery of something or mixing and making potions playing with chemicals or such
So on and so on 🧐
