    I think every owner should be using an AOS or catch cans if/when they have the money to get one...and should consider it a must-have for any modified VB. The oil cooler I would raise some caution on for people who live in colder climates. Where I am it is nearly freezing 5 months out of the year. Oil temps are meant to go above 212F so that the water created by the combustion process can boil off and out of the system. Oil coolers on daily driver cars in the north are frankly more likely to be counter-productive to longevity and performance. A surprisingly large amount of water is made as a by-product of burning fuel. If your rate of evaporation and exit is lowered too far, you end up with condensation of that water in your oil systems. All that being said, if you live further south, drive like tickets are just warnings all the time or strictly track your car, an oil cooler may still be justified up north...so long as your oil temps can still peak high enough for long enough.

      That's a really good point on the oil cooler. It's not for everyone. I do track my car and plan on doing more of it next year. It does have a built in thermostat that only activates at a certain temp so it won't be cooling all willy nilly.

      @@HeavyMetalWRX I think for where you live you will be fine even if you drove gently. The extreme temp changes where I live make it the kind of item you would want to be sure you need. I have seen triple digits here in summer occasionally and the winters I see negatives regularly. my comment is meant for people in my circumstances. My people advised against the mod for the reasons I explained. I wish I had the link one of them sent me explaining how much water is created burning fuel. They told me that everyone knows you dont want oil temp too high, but that a lot of people dont realize that you do want your oil to be literally boiling hot. the closer you can be to holding between 210 and 220 the closer you are to perfection. My concern also comes from mishimoto a little, in that their thermostatic activations are 160, 185 and 200 degrees...ALL below water boiling temps...ALL allowing water to condensate in the oil. I want a thermostatic cooler that activates at 230 and cuts off at 200-210. If I could stay in that range I would be very happy.

    Great vid i was going todo my aos last weekend but decided to wait til after the tr trim imfo in case i decide i wanna trade mine in for that. i also have a question do you or have you heard of others having issue with windshield washer fuild light coming on every time you use like more than 10% of the brake pedal?

      Surprise, the TR looks like a dude. I saw the car and driver on it this morning. Brakes , recaros, 19incj wheels, eyesight but no STi transmission. Also possibly $48k. It's gonna be a no from me dawg.

    • @JoshDillon-lm3hw

      @HeavyMetalWRX yeah I don't think it will be that much it doesn't have active suspension was hoping they were going todo sti Trans tho but same here it'd be cheaper to buy a brake kit than trade in an I can live without the Recaro even tho there nice an already have sti wing on my car

    Dumb question, but if I'm keeping my vb wrx stock, do I need an AoS?

    • @erdinczor1
      @erdinczor1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No dumb questions. I think it depends on your driving habits. If you're not lugging, not modding and not pushing it too hard you don't NEED one per se. But it's still a good mod to keep the car healthy. To answer you more directly, no u don't need one. Is it a good thing to have? Yes. Compare it to bigger/better brakes. Do u need them? No. Well they help? Absolutely. Except it's not for the brakes in this scenario, it's for your engine. ⚖️

    So that's how I could get a Perrin CVT cooler and an Oil Cooler at the same time, putting the oil cooler in the strut brace. Congrats! I'm new to this (WRX and mods) and I'm willing to give it a try on everything but the CVT cooler as I have to install a new one, not replace it. I got my WRX a month ago, do you think I should get the AOS asap? Or would be better to get the front intercooler and after that the AOS.
