  • I was entrusted with a local couple’s 3500 mile 2021 4Runner TRD off Road Premium to install a 3” ICON lift as well as a slew of armor from C4 Fabrication. I supplied the ICON parts, sourced the tires locally, and did the install in the Synergy Performance shop/video studio. I hope you enjoy the video. If you have any questions or comments regarding this video, please feel free to comment and I’ll do my best to answer/respond.

    This looks damn near identical to my 2016 TEP/KDSS 4Runner. The same color, front bumper and same wheels. I don't have a roof rack on mine...yet. I also used RCI sliders. Nice lookin' truck! I also put Nitto Ridge Grapplers on mine 285/75-17. I've been thinking of putting some high clearance wings on mine as well. My front bumper corners are a bit scratched from large logs and rocks on the trails.

    Excellent work!!! This was fun to watch. I’m sure you figured out the pitfall of that rear trailing arm by now. I made the same mistake with my 5th gen. 4runner. I’m very envious of your shop! I do all my work in the driveway because neither my 4runner or Tacoma fit in my garage. I definitely wouldn’t discount the rattle can paint job. Rattle cans have nice quality paint these days and you really did a nice job spraying it.

    • @Mr_SynergyPerformance

      No. I sold this unit as a new vehicle, and recommended against the KDSS since they had plans to lift it since day one.

    • @ColoradoStreetboarding
      @ColoradoStreetboarding 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Will yeah that’s been the main reason I haven’t lifted my 15’ Trail .. and I don’t have an extra 10k lying around. And 10k for 2 inches just doesn’t seem worth it in the KDSS world. It does have massive sway bars in comparison so the on-road handling is very tight when cornering and the KDSS pistons do help give it a bit more flex than stock and standards lifts. Not more than “Long Travel” lifts, but those LT control arms are 6 grand alone. IF I do anything, it’ll be a Front Body Mount Relocation, not just a chop, and additional rear fender and pinch weld mods to be able to fit 34’s, maybe 35’s depending on the need to change wheels. Most lifts, don’t help flex, just clearance which also makes it more too heavy. Tomatos, Tomaatoes. Nice video overall. Truck does look sweet.

      @@Mr_SynergyPerformance No rush. But keep me in mind if you're looking for some work. I'm looking at having an Icon Stage 7 with the billet UCA and upper / lower linkages installed. A quick question since you're here... I'm a having a clicking noise during moderate breaking. It's coming from the front driver's side with stock suspension. I was wondering if that could be from the bushings on the sway bar link wearing out and if there's a way to reinforce those. Appreciate your time!

    • @Mr_SynergyPerformance
      @Mr_SynergyPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wisconsinoutdoorsman4782 I would be interested in bidding that job at some point. The clicking could be a sway bar end link. If you notice the clicking when going over a speed bump or small transition it’s likely that. It could be away at bushings, but that’s less likely in my experience.
