FINALLY Adding More Power To My GT-R!!

- These two parts alone gave my GT-R an awesome increase in sound and performance! Pair these with a Cobb Tuner and a custom tune from AAM Competition and you will have a sick setup for your GT-R!! Today I install a set of the AAM Competition 3 inch cold air intakes for my Nissan GT-R! Running 3in intakes for the GT-R will throw a check engine light since OEM diameter is 2.75 inches. So working with AAM Competition and using the Cobb Access Port, I downloaded the new stage 2 tune for the car! Right off the back I installed the Off The Shelf Stage 2 tune map right from Cobb Tuning. The car pulls insainly quick!!
I love the custom black powder coating AAM did on the new intakes! It matches nicely to how I want my engine bay to look. I did have to remove part of the GTR front bumper to install the larger K&N air filters, but that really wasn't too hard. Overall installation is very simple. Just take the intercooler pipes off first for better access.
I honestly was blown away with this serious upgrade in performance. When a GT-R breaks traction in 2nd gear, you know its fast! Since then I now have AAM's stage 2 tune running on my car. Their tune has been data logged and is a bit more aggressive than the off the shelve map. The GT-R pulls so fast on the highway now. It's amazing how even in 4th and 5th gear, the GTR throws you back in the seat and can accelerate way past 100mph without even thinking. Not that I would know..
My car should be putting out mid 500 HP at the wheels which is about 150 over stock.
I can't image how the car will perform with the Armytrix downpipes, 1000cc fuel injectors and the full stage 3 tune! The Armytrix exhaust on the GTR already sounds amazing, and actually sounds a bit louder with the stage 2 setup. Full stage 3 will be super loud, spit flames, and be around 600WHP.

Go to a stage 4, replace the injectors, upgrade the Intercooler, upgrade the oil cooler and remap without spending mega money

Yes! The midpipe and 3in intakes along with a tune are the 'Stage 2' setup. I have the Tail recirc valves with don't need any tuning to run. They just look better then stock and hold the boost better

Great video. I also have a 2014 Nissan GT-R; no mods except for the rear exhaust. With the mods you've done, I'd love to know the actual HP to the wheels. I know it can be a bit costly, but I would love to see a video of your car on a dyno, and results...

Reminded mme a lot on GOTBOOST intakes when i used them on my DBA R35 these are exact same but had different cone shape filter plus a wrap to further protect it from dust
You need to change the turbo inlets, it's a big difference with the tune.
I think only the 2009-13 need that. 2014 and up, they are much larger.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed they all need them , 2013 and up are a little bigger, but they all benefit from it. CBA just benefits a little more from inlets.
For the intakes I see you went with the MAF style vs. speed density. Is there any reason why? For my first mod on my 2015 GT-R I want to do a stage 2 tune (already have mid pipe installed) probably off the shelf COBB map, and will probably have issues if I go speed density instead of MAF without a real/remote tune by someone.
GTR is designed to run MAF. So stick with that for the easiest way to get into tuning. If you want to end up running vent to atmosphere blow off valves instead of the recirculation valves, you'll need speed density tuning to run that. It deletes the function of the MAF. Cobb OTS maps are all MAF as are pretty much every GTR tunes. You'd have to specify with your tuner for the SD :)
Don’t they advertise not having to remove the bumper? Don’t most squeeze it in somehow?
Not too sure. But I couldn't get the bigger filters in the bumper area. When I had the smaller sized intakes I could install those without removing the bumper.

hi there Bros FOURR Speed once you changed the stock cold intake system do you have to dyno your gtr or load maps or things like that or can you just bolt on and drive??? and the same for the exhuast system???

Yes. You need either the Cobb AP or ECUtek tuning software to tune your car.
Hi there, i have a Ets 4" exhaust and 3" intake, but i after i reflashed to stage 2 i have a bunch of transmission codes and car is in limp mode. Did you have same problem?

James Robertson Mine does have the TCM tune. I have not installed it yet. I’m not really sure if it’s necessary since I dive in manual most of the time. And R modern auto is super aggressive. From what I’ve seen it just makes the trans act like it’s in R mode

They do not come with the car lol. You'll have to buy it separate and then either use the off the shelf maps, or work with a tuner on custom settings

with these mods and a stage 2 tune what kind of differences in fuel efficiency do you notice?
As of now my car is straight piped with 1050cc injectors and stage 3 tune. I get better mpg then stock! Stock I'd get right at 17 mpg, now I get 17.4. And I definitely drive it harder now that it sounds sooo sick with the full exhaust lol

Efrenboomin you can go any way you want. The 3in intakes will require a tune no matter what. So a midpipe and 3in intakes with a tune is the stage 2 setup

What happen if water get into your intake?
These suck air from the same spot as the factory system. So no issues

@@BrosFOURRSpeed my point being you would get wrecked by savagegeese and engineering explained because they know how to drive well and don't need to rely on adding more power to be fast. They can get more out of a car without upgrades, and only upgrade when they know the limiting factor possible when being able to consistently reach the edge.
