I stumbled towards my Turkish angora by accident, the breeder advertised him as a Turkish Van which I previously had. I noticed right away he was not a Turkish Van and did some homework on him when I bought him, when he was 12 weeks old. He was ‘beautiful’ and I had to have him ! He is bi-coloured, sandy & white with amber coloured eyes. He is ‘pointed’ (which makes him extremely rare for his breed) by having a white underbelly, white around his nose/whiskers, white tipped paws and a white tip, which I love, on the end of his tail 😻 I called him ‘Chip’. He’s everyone’s favourite cat on my street and he loves to be outdoors. Knowing I’ve got an exotic cat, I had him chipped & neutered as soon he was old enough, he’s 4 and a half years old now. He follows me everywhere but is not keen on being picked up. He’s just my wee fury pal and I tell him often how much I ❤ him. He loves his food too but I’m careful never to over feed him 😁
I wanted to buy a Turkish angora for the longest time when one day I found a feral one right outside of my house, a gift from god. Since he was a kitten to having him for almost 3 years now he has been super energetic, it’s true that these cats can play all day almost like a dog, 100/10 would recommend to get one if you’re planning on getting your first cat, all though he sheds a lot so get used to have cat hair all over everything
🐱❤️My daughter has one. He's amazing! We need to get him a cat treadmill, because we noticed he's getting aggressive with her, probably because he's bored as an indoor cat. He has always been sweet and a perfect companion for her. He's 4 years old now. We got him as a 4 month old kitten. Our family loves him so much. ❤️❤️❤️
As a Turkish and an Angora cat owner, I want to help. do not keep the angora in the house, the cat's psychology will deteriorate and it will become very aggressive. The best care method is to buy a body leash and walk the cat like a dog, it will like it very much and it will love to walk on real grass, it will be very bad for the cat if you keep it at home. Since it is a historical species, it has even been used for hunting (usually to hunt small birds) so the species loves to travel and freedom.
Hello :) My neighbourhood has plenty of indoor/ outdoor cats. Would you recommend I let him go outside too ? if so at what age would it be appropriate? Thank you @@quarte0981
i had one (rip big boy) he was the best. cat. ever. completely deaf, but still, best cat ever. swift with hunting; he was ON IT and never 'played' his prey to death, quite humane for a cat.
@mauriciomartinez8188 awww I bet he's such a handsome baby. Yes anytime , just know they are pretty hyper active. They require a lot more attention like play time or taking them out for walks. If you train him early to use the leash I promise you it will be a lot easier later on.
@@mrsimon8922 my Turkish Angora is 4 months old and it not deaf it has along its sibling but after a long time I took them to their mother but their mother beat them and his 😢
I have an angora and she is the most loving lap cat I have ever seen. She has one blue and one green eye. Very beautiful and greets anyine who visits. Pearl amazes me how long she holds eye contact with me. She loves me telling her how much I love her.
Just discovered my niko is a Turkish angora. He’s solid white with green eyes. 9 and we’ve had him all 9 years. He’s def an energetic psychopath, but that’s my baby 🥰😂
I’ve had many non-breed cats over the years. Other than the color and length of their coats, all the behaviors mentioned are true to being a cat, not just a Turkish Angora. That said, the TAs are gorgeous. 😻
I don’t know why I don’t know how, and I don’t know the chances or odds but I found a Turkish angora kitten in the streets with 4 more kittens but when we approached the kittens ran away but the Turkish angora didn’t, no wonder why there thought to be so intelligent (she knew she was going to get a free vip shelter and food) and the thing is we’re Turkish too! It’s like a big Turkish family! (Video of her playing in my profile)
My tabby calico had kittens, all girls, absolutely gorgeous. The first one was born all white, but now is a crème tabby with smoky gray color point. The second one is a Tortoiseshell. The last one, noticeably shimmering, shiny white fur, with a butterfly patch of black on top of its head. She’s got one blue eye, one green. Is she a Turkish Angora !? Can a Tabby Calico even have one? 😂 I feel so lucky, like I landed the kitten lottery
30 years ago i had an angora cat. These cats hate guests and dislike to be touched. If you do special something about them, they usually thank you because of the special gift.
I have a Turkish angora her name is angel and she is my emotional support animal and I have trained her so I can carry her on my shoulders if I have something else in my hands so that she can be with me when I'm working
When my mom was a kid, she always wanted a Turkish Angora cat (she would have named her Mewsette after the character from the 1962 animated movie "Gay Purr-ee" or Duchess after the character from the 1970 animated movie"The Aristocats"); but she found out that she was allergic to long haired cats.
Hello so I have a question? In the video it’s said that Turkish angoras have long hair and a bushy tail, but a lot of short haired cats are shown as well. Are those still pure bred angoras? Or are they crossed with other breeds?
I'm also doubting that my 5 months old Turkish Angora (we call her Snowy) is deaf as she doesn't react to any of our voices or other noises/sounds 😢. Any tips on how to train her as I am a first time cat daddy.
We have three Turkish Angora kittens😁 But we killed the mother cat because it was driven over by a vehicle and her both legs and feet and back and tail were completely broken😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Trivial correction: Ankara is not the former capital of Turkey. It is and has been the capital of Turkey since it has been founded in 1923. If you think Istanbul is the capital, not it is not. Istanbul (former Constantinople) was the capital of the preceding Ottoman Empire..
I have an Angora and I'm having many problems with him, 1. He is VERY afraid of strangers, if someone comes into the house whom he doesn't know or doesn't meet very often then he runs away like a bullet from them 2. His reactions are VERY unpredictable, he likes it when I pat his head and the area above his tail but if I ever massage the area around any of his paws he might flip out any moment and when he flips out he can scratch real hard that he might actually injure my arm, and to anyone asking: No he does not have any injuries around that area. 3. He does not allow my 16 month old niece to get near him even though she's been in our house for as long as possible, he might be reluctant to let her close because she usually approaches his tail but it's almost been a year and yet he doesn't let her touch him. I'm really getting frustrated with his behavior, I mean I can stand him not trusting strangers, but the fact that he doesn't allow my little niece to play with him really pisses me off, but on the bright side it might be better because god knows his unpredictable reactions might end up hurting her so maybe him not allowing her close is for the best.
he is not unpredictible. some cats have low tolerance for petting, and they might enjoy only certain areas. cats are highly sensitive animals and they can get overstimulated very easily. i'd suggest you to pet him for a short time, stop, and pet him again while observing his body language. if he tenses up ever so slightly, stop, give him some time and continue petting him. that way, he wont get overstimulated and use his murder mittens :D. jackson galaxy has great advice on this issue, you should check his videos. also, cats generally dont like children that much, because children can be unpredictible and very loud :D your niece can interact with him with toys so he learns to trust her. i used to own cats, and i would always introduce my cousins slowly and with cat toys and favorite snacks. for the stranger problem, nothing can be done. your cat doesnt like it. hes a shy cat. he needs time before trusting new people. and thats ok. he will be more confident as he grows old.

I had a beautiful white Turkish Angora who was "odd-eyed". She was a very funny cat that had a personality like no other cat that I have owned.

My Turkish Angora Oliver was born deaf. He has soooo much energy. I call him the terroizer, lol. I take him on walks with his harness he loves it.
If he is deaf , how the heck do u call him!
@noxatyoutube his name is Oliver the terroizer because of his energy. He's constantly jumping and knocking things over. It was a joke
My Angora is 4 months old and born deaf too. A wonderful ball of love! It would be cool to share experiences given this particularity.
