Idk bro HD be having Hella deals in the app . Impact drill all fuel 2.0 battery 2 4.0s and a 5.0 HO with charger for 199 . You can't really beat that . With warranty
Ive brought everything i own off ebay. 2960-20 impact wrench, a 2754-20 impact wrench, gen3 hammer drill, 6 3amp hour batteries, 3 2amp batteries with charger. My 2754 ive had take apart clean it a few times. I just order a 2854-20 two days ago. What ive brought in pawn shop was another 2754-20 and brushed drill with 2 5amp. All ive brought used mostly. The gen3 been refurbished by Milwaukee guy sent me receipt. And 2960-20 was brand new
Warranty on tools are not like warranty on cars. My experience with these warranty has not been satisfactory. Normally it costs them more to fix any of these tools than just replacing it and quite frankly unless your tools costs you an arm and a leg, it just isn't justifiable for me to go through the hassle of shipping it and waiting for it to get back to me with the potential problem of things weren't fixed even after all that trouble. The best warranty by fat are tools bought from Harbor Freight. In case it is broken, I just return it to the nearby store and they replace it with no questions ask.
Exactly why I'm now buying the Hercules line of tools from harbor freight. They do their warranties like sears did for craftsman tools which are great warranties and that kind of support is priceless in today's world. With Milwaukee you either go thru a dealer in specific locations or go straight to a certified Milwaukee repair shop and if you're not close to either one it will cost down time and money for shipping with no known resolutions until after its shipped. Milwaukee is good tools yes, but they can be a hassle in certain situations.
It sounds like you had an interesting experience purchasing the Milwaukee 2 cordless screwdriver from Amazon. Your insights into the risks involved in buying tools from third-party sellers on Amazon, especially when it comes to Milwaukee tools, are valuable. The potential issues with warranties, counterfeit products, and older inventory are definitely things to consider before making a purchase. It's great that you were able to find a good deal on your screwdriver despite the potential drawbacks. Thanks for sharing your experience and advice with us!
In UK, the Milwaukee 18v drill with two 4.0 amp hour batteries costs £150 (round figures) and the same item in the same packaging retails on Amazon for £220. This deal is current (April 2024). Having just bought one (from Screwfix), it's brilliant and of course the batteries fit any of the 18v range of Milwaukee tools.
I have bought all of my Milwaukee tools off Amazon and they are not counterfeit they have serial numbers that I know are real because I had to send one back to a service center. It was a Milwaukee fuel ratchet no issue had.
I've never actually seen them cheaper on Amazon than Home Depot. They are usually notably more expensive or obviously knock offs. Had mixed experiences with the KO batteries for sure. One I actually liked and thought was a really good value, but the others we found were junk once they had notable load or overheated or just got used lots in a production environment.
Like mentioned in the video, the longer version. If you don't have a proof of purchase, the warranty period starts from the actual manufacturer date determined by the serial number. If you have the proof of purchase, your five year warranty period starts the day you buy it from a respectable Milwaukee dealer. I hope this helped you out.
I bought 2 Milwaukee 9ah batteries off eBay took the chance , looked so close even in a package and paperwork but the color was off just a bit, not the same screws hold it together and not the same board as my real 9ah batteries, this has to stop
Ive never experienced any problems buying Milwaukee power tools on amazon or ebay. However i wont buy batteries there because they're a lot easier to counterfit than a power tool.
All true. I bought 2 Milwaukee tools from Amazon, saved a bunch, and they are real and work fine. I am retired and my son uses his Milwaukee tools everyday and so far he has not 1 failed anything. So, no warranty on an Amazon Milwaukee tool is better than full warranty on cheap tools that need it. Harbor Freight is the best warranty as you get a new tool in a matter of minutes.
Update: No mater WHERE you buy genuine Milwaukee tools, they ARE covered by Milwaukee. IF you got it from an "Authorized Sales Center" they go by the sales slip date IF you buy it off Amazon or anywhere ese, they go by the DATE code stamped on the side of the tool. THAT is the ONLY difference.
I bought a 2767 half inch impact from amazon june 2020. Never had a problem and still working strong. I saved close to $90 in savings. I only buy batteries from an authorized dealer. (Home Depot, ect.) But yes, please do your homework and inspect the item before you put it to use.
@keiththompson2289 Any authorized Milwaukee distributorship, if you're concerned about the warranty issues. Otherwise, as long as you know it's a genuine Milwaukee item, you can purchase it from any place you prefer. Just be aware that in most cases, after 90 days, it will be up to you to take care of the warranty issues directly from Milwaukee.
I bought my Milwaukee Fuel M12 Impact and drill driver kit with a tool bot kit for $115 from Home Depot (Dec. 2020). I think it was a pretty good deal at the time. When people see Milwaukee Fuel, they know you are serious about your tools. I would never buy high value/price tools from Amazon. All counterfeit stuff. I have Milwaukee Fuel, Bosch and Dewalt tools. It's Fuel or nothing with Milwaukee. Don't ever let anybody tell you otherwise. Still runs great, no issues with the M12 Fuel tools.
It’s not all counterfeit. Batteries can be definitely counterfeit. I spent $400 on a gen 2 mid torque, gen 3 high torque off Amazon with legit serial numbers. They were made in the end of 23’ and I’ve absolutely put these things through hell. I don’t see, feel or hear any difference with my coworkers tools. The cheaper prices come from open damaged boxes, returns etc and people buy their pallets at auctions in wholesale. It’s legit for most of the tools, just stay away from chargers/batteries.
I just got the M18 6.5" circular saw on amazon. It was only $86. Came with no box or bag. Just the owners manual, saw, and blade. It works, so for now im not complaining. Idc about the warranty. If it continues to work, great, if not i have learned my lesson. I will never buy power tools off amazon anymore though. Thats for sure.
There is no "probably" about losing the warranty. Milwaukee will not warranty the tools bought from any non-authorized seller. They have made a few announcements about this already. This is why I always buy my Milwaukee tools directly from Home Depot. I also buy the extended warranty on my power tools,
That's why I feel so bad when a customer of mine brings in a Milwaukee tool for warranty that they did not purchase from us. Just nothing I can do to help them.
milwaukee does not ask for proof of purchase if the item is still under warranty based off of the tool serial number only a fool would tell them they bought it off amazon or ebay
@Lazy943 I agree. The point I make to my customers and in this video is that it's up to them to do all the work to get the item warrantied without the help of Amazon. Milwaukee will not deal with Amazon and will not honor the proof of purchase date from Amazon. So, like you say, it falls on the serial number. Which in most cases takes years off the remaining warranty period for said item. Thanks for your comment.
Iv bought 2 tools on Amazon bare tools there actual Milwaukee products on there just gotta know what your looking at do research and match serial numbers inspect them closely and even look up TH-cam videos I baught my first Milwaukee hex drive impact from ace hardware I still have it running strong used and abused that tool literally working on mopeds and using it as a drill and a impact wrench lol but it’s still working strong
Thing is even if it is an authentic Milwaukee tool, Milwaukee will warranty the tool by the date on the tool, not by when you actually purchased it. At the job I was at we had a Milwaukee dealer who would come by the office who told us that's how Milwaukee does their warranty, plus a certified Milwaukee repair guy told me the same thing. If you buy an authentic Milwaukee tool it might have a 5 year warranty on the tool and 3 years on the battery, but then it might be two years old and so you loose some warranty on the tools. I once bought a drill with 5 year warranty and even though it had never been out of the package I lost two years of a 5 year warranty because of that manufacturers date stamped unto the tool. When a dealer sells Milwaukee tools on sale you can bet it's a tool that's been sitting on a shelf that was never sold and it will be an older model and nearly half the warranty is already gone. Yes amazon will sell China knock-off Milwaukee tools with zero warranty but they also sell authentic Milwaukee tools at a huge discount with little or no warranty left on it. This is one reason why I don't like Milwaukee, it's not the tool itself, it's how they warranty their tools. Plus if you buy a Milwaukee tool and do have it repaired, it will only be repaired one time for that specific problem, after that the warranty is void once it was repaired... doesn't matter how much warranty is left on it. Milwaukee will only repair or replace one time only. I know this because I've been thru it on the job from a Milwaukee dealer.
The manufacturer knows about it , otherwise he could have sue those , but China bought the Milwaukee , and US returns all the returned Milwaukee tools back to China . They should manufacture in US and let the young generation have job . It is business at the end.
When i buy milwaukee tools off amazon, or from the dope head that just swiped it from home de-pot, the money i save i will roll the dice on the warranty. I dont use my shit every single waking day but use them frequently and so far i havent had anything go bad.
This is not true. You won't have a warranty if you buy refurbished tools and batteries! I actually believe you get a year on the battery not 3 years. I had zero issues with Milwaukee fixing my 8 amp battery I purchased from Amazon after a year but it was a new one not a refurbished. I believe I paid $200 for the battery and rapid charger and at the time it was $269 at home Depot
@@galevest4545 Yes it is true. I bought a battery and charger from Amazon. Yes the were 100% genuine. Anyway my battery stopped charging. I took it to a Milwaukee repair depot that we have in the city i live in in Canada. They asked me for my receipt and as soon as they saw Amazon they refused to exchange it saying Amazon IS NOT A AUTHORIZED DEALER OR RESELLER SO I HAVE ZERO WARRANTY. So before you accuse someone of lying ask them why they say this. Milwaukee Canada and I am sure it is the same in the USA will not repair or exchange a tool or battery that was bought from Amazon......
Yes, most people are not aware of how to read the serial number code. Also, the buyer doesn't have access to the serial numbers when purchasing from Amazon. Buyer beware!!
I bought a Milwaukee drill on Amazon. For $65 (less then half of what it cost at HD) I'm ok with no warranty. I've had zero issues with it.
Idk bro HD be having Hella deals in the app . Impact drill all fuel 2.0 battery 2 4.0s and a 5.0 HO with charger for 199 . You can't really beat that . With warranty
More accurately, you bought a "Milwaukee" drill on Amazon. It should be in quotations, per the legitimacy or lack thereof.
You got 5 years with milwaukee
Amazon doesn't sell counterfit milwaukee tool
This guys sells tools, of course he don’t like amazon!!! Lol
Ive brought everything i own off ebay. 2960-20 impact wrench, a 2754-20 impact wrench, gen3 hammer drill, 6 3amp hour batteries, 3 2amp batteries with charger. Another source for the tools being sold on Amazon, E-Bay, CL, FB Market Place is either returned merch or worse, stolen items.
So true. Thanks for your comment.
I got a drill an impact 2 batteries and a charger for 90 bucks off amazon. The new one with the variable speed on top too.
Is there a place where you can look up the serial number of a Milwaukee tool to see how much warranty it left?
Awesome video Tim it was very helpful!

Do you need proof of purchase for Milwaukee tool warranty? I’ve heard that it’s not required, but of course recommends to provide it.

They're made in China, plenty of grey market ones available for half of the price, I regularly buy when visiting China for even less than half price.

Check the serial it's fairly easy
Its fairly easy to counterfeit a serial number too.😂
In the UK we are covered by The Consumer Rights Act, the retailer has to guarantee any item fo 8 years

If you have proof of purchase and the tool is within warranty coverage there’s no problem.
If they are counterfeit, that sucks. If they are legit, they are from kits. People keep the impact and sell the hammer.
Amazon is not authorized retailer so you won’t get a warranty if you care about that
