Turn off freesync and your monitor will accept a 4k signal and will downscale to 1440p 60hz. And for some games like cold war if you want 120fps it will switch down to 1080p.
Hey when recording gameplay on a ps5 with the Elgato HD 60 s+ is it still possible to play in 120fps even tho the Elgato would only be recording in 60fps? Because I have the original Elgato HD Capture card from many years ago and immediately when I plug it in, it caps my ps5 frames at 60fps because that’s what it’s recording at. Is there a work around that with these newer Elgatos or even that old one?

So apparently Sony has done an update and the menu to get 120hz has changed. Sony is behind with the updates relative to Xbox where Warzone is already capable of 120Hz on Xbox (at the time of this comment). So an update for this video needs to be done

Hey Mert, I’m using the HDMI 2.1 cable that came with the PS5. I haven’t checked if you can still get 1080p 120hz with an HDMI 2.0 cable; I think you may still be able to though..

The bigger problem is that a 2.1 capture card doesn’t exist. So if you’re trying to play 4k@120hz you can’t capture it. Not to mention that Elgato doesn’t even support HDR. So you lose a lot of quality recording gameplay now.

Hey bro, so I have an AOC 24G2 monitor but it only has HDMI 1.4. I know that this version of HDMI supports 1080p 120FPS, so wouldn't that mean that once I get a PS5, it should recognize or at least be able to output 1080p 120fps on the monitor that can even do 144FPS? Slick video btw!

So I was just checking this, and apparently the Call of Duty Cold War menu has changed where the graphics tab does not show the refresh rate option or ray tracing option. Due to this, I was reading some forums, and apparently you need something called an HDMI EDID Emulator, specifically the ATEN VC080 or the Elgato 4k60 pro where in Elgato’s software you can configure EDID. I’ll link this in the description. PS5 is just making things difficult...I’m actually doing a giveaway for the PS5, I haven’t been playing on it so I wasn’t aware of all this change. I recommend going for the Elgato 4k60pro, as this is a great capture card and also plays as a EDID EMULATOR in Elgatos software. But to answer your question, the Hdmi 1.4 will output 1080p at 120fps once you get by this EDID situation.

So last I checked you cant do it for Warzone yet, only Cold War. Activision gave Xbox series X an update for Warzone to support 120Hz but not PS5 for whatever reason. But it’ll be coming soon.

Thank you. Im assuming you’re using the HDMI 2.1 cable that came with the ps5, so what Monitor are you using? And remember, you’ll have to start playing a game (cold war for example) for it to activate the 120hz. I believe on the home screen without any games playing, it sits at 60hz.

Try this, turn off free sync within the monitor. Then turn your computer on, right click and open up display settings, while youre monitor is selected in display settings scroll down and click advanced display settings. Over here it should say 144hz. If it doesn’t, go to display adapter properties on this screen, go to the monitor tab and here you can change the screens refresh rate. Let me know if this works

It definitely is more than you need for a ps4. You can find a 1440p 144HZ ips monitor but I'd have to say the G7 is the best 1440p monitor in the market currently imo.
I have a feeling they will add 1440P support they just knew that a lot of people would buy 1440P monitors over their Sony TVs that do 4K at 120hz because 1440P is the perfect middle ground

Im trying to start streaming and im running in to the issue of getting the audio to the elgato. It seems like i have to if i want it out of my headset (no noise in my stream) or HDMI (No noise in headset). I currently use the Stealth 700 gen 2 if I get the Artics Pro Wireless would that fix this problem i noticed i heard no game audio in your video.

I have a VG27AQ also! It's great and at least I have a pc to make use of those high framerates. Just haven't been able to get a GPU upgrade because it's impossible but I was able to get a ps5. Too bad can't get this 120hz to work with it on ps5 though.

4K TV with Game Mode 120hz cannot get the ps5 to 4K @120 playing Cold War so frustrating.
Make sure you’re plugging into the Hdmi 2.1 port of your TV. Youre TV may have 1 Hdmi 2.1 port and the rest may be Hdmi 2.0
