Thanks, I know what you mean. Jas and I are starting our little painting challenge which was inspired by the Cowabunga challenge. 1500pts, start Jan and finish in May with a batrep in June
Oh man what an Eldar army to take on. Not knowing what I would be up against and picking my standard Guard army the only hope would be for "EVERYONE ON OVERWATCH!" lol.
Yeah, I was a tough fight and could have been worse. The biles could have been more than 4" apart and that would make any sustained fire a single target shot and the bikes would be too far apart
@@bringbattlewargaming8720 Awesome! This matchup is actually a classic, the Eldrad vs Abaddon bat rep in White Dwarf was one of my favourites from 3rd edition, I've always wanted to refight that myself. Tyranids vs Tau is another good one (with plenty of terrain!). Eldar vs Guard is always fun as well.
Great game, as always. Just a couple of rules I want to clarify: Vehicle crews according to pg74 of the rulebook are inmune to break tests. I see you made them run 3d6. Where can I find that rule? Force weapons auto-wound deamons Did any of the bikes that got mission points have a shuriken cannon? I think that's also extra points, same for the vyper squadron. I would have loved Jason getting first turn and sending all his army to fly high and then make a flank attack lol. Again, strategy cards coming to the rescue for a close game on points. Viva la 2nd ed
Thanks for watching. I will look into those points this week. Thanks for bringing them up. 1 I can answer is that the Sorcerer only had a sword and not a force sword. I had Iron Arm active so I could wound the Avatar on a 2+
@@bringbattlewargaming8720 no problem, mate. I'm not 100% sure on the bikes, as they are purchased on squads, but are vehicles for all other purposes... for the record, I make way more rule mistakes than you guys. I am glad to help or bring points after the report.
No worries and keep bringing them up. Need to check the rulebook but I think that they still act as a squad and are subject to the morale rules. Individual vehicles that cost les than 100pts have to form a squadron, which is what Jason had to do and they would be immune to morale
Great report, very interesting Eldar army... trust Jason to field an eldar army without a psyker! Ps, what models was he using for the shining spears, were they conversions?
While the older rules sets certainly had their flaws, they were so much better than the overly complicated mess we have now. Would love to see a comparison video comparing 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc to see which is the best rule system GW have produced!
That will always be up for debate. 9th is a mess, 8th was ok etc. Having said that we do want to do a 2nd and use the same army in 3rd to see what happens
@@bringbattlewargaming8720 personally I think 8th is where it started going wrong for 40k and partly why there’s such a big interest in HH now. Good to see games being played using the older rulesets 👍
@@ObjectiveMedia yep, you are right. I saw a change in the system and it was gearing up to be more competition play than fun play and 9th sealed the deal on that. Had alot more fun with the earlier editions
@@bringbattlewargaming8720 totally. I don’t understand the huge focus that was put on tournament play when the vast majority of us just play for fun 🤷♂️
@@ObjectiveMedia money. 1. People play meta armies and break the main rules. 2. GW address the problem with an errata, which makes models all but useless now. They then improve the rules for models that are not being used. 3. People buy those models 4. Repeat. Tournaments are great marketing tools for GW
Played Eldar when that Codex came out.. Young and stupid all I saw were the Aspect Warriors.. And did well until people used tactics against me.. ;) Not an elf or Eldar player really so gave them up after a while for Orks briefly and then Space Wolves which I played for.. Decades. @@bringbattlewargaming8720 Yeah, it is.. :) A friend of mine played some tournaments at the end of 2nd Ed and did well. Jetbikes, many Shuriken cannons and i especially remember his nasty Exarchs.. Loads of nasty abilities and wargear cards.. Not necessarily the "right" exarch.. Some cheap Aspect Warriors and then some nasty Swooping Hawk Exarch with a combi-weapon, fast shot and vortex grenade or something along those lines..
I like the five chaos marines hiding in the river. It makes me think of five oldhammer marines sitting in the river, being miserable together.
Lol. They were
Good stuff gents! I’m trying to get out of a hobby/painting slump... this is good to listen to while I stare blankly at my work table!

Another hard fought game!! Well played gets and I can’t wait for the next video! Cheering for Jason this weekend!
Thank you, sure it is my turn???
I was cheering for you on this video. Certainly possible I got mixed up along the way!!
Lmao. I lost...so cheer Jason. Could do with a win in BA 😉
Great work lads! That Eldar list was a bit beardy but the fact it worked out so close was great!
It was a great list and very Eldar. Just gutted I failed some term saves so quickly. Thank god I got 1st turn

So many jetbikes!! 😃
I know. I was spitting sparks when I saw that lot 😂😂😂
@@bringbattlewargaming8720 I still prefer the front of the old jetbikes to the new ones, so cool!
@@oitoitoi1 I do.
Nasty Eldar list - too many dang bikes :D Next time let's see some aspect warriors. Good game nevertheless :)
Brilliant list and very scary. I tend to field aspect so next time....
As a long time Biel-Tan player I agree with this 100%
Two cool armies and another fun report!
Thank you
Great stuff guys but more 3rd edition please!
Don't worry we will. Abit hit and miss atm. What armies would you like to see clash. Can't do Dark Eldar atm though

See what we can do. Got Eldrad and Abaddon but not painted and we don't have Tau. Completely forgot to mention that. We will sort something out 😉
@@bringbattlewargaming8720 Sounds great! It was White Dwarf 267. Don't worry my 3rd edition Eldrad still isn't painted either 😅

You did not use my banned strategy. Eldar skouts on Jet Bikes with power fists. Buy them in the 12x12 area next to enemy deployment= armour gone.
Great fun, thank you gents 👍

I have asked him, will let you know. I think they are 3rd or 4th edition tbh
So... do you know that CSM has a stratagy rating 5? ;)
For deploying, use the table at page 10 of the Rulebook. 5 SR is for starting purposes and depends on commander
The commander does but the army deploys as strat 3
Sniper vypers!
