Even reading the wiki I still haven't gotten to see half of the stuff that FurtherReading did in this video, even spending almost 300 hours in the game I didn't know you can befriend SOUP
I had a goatfolk follower with burgeoning that did the same thing to me. Dude would spam burgeoning in every combat situation, eventually cooked us both by filling the room with aloe pyras
This game looks so insane. The fact you're a slug covered in hands is unrelated to the story. You seem to have faces removed from your own clones equipped on your own faces? You nonchalantly scroll past a blueprint on how to make something called a "Hand-E-Nuke"???? The cult HAS TURTLES IN IT?????!!!!!!!
Don't forget the fact that they are a slug because they likely befriended a giant slug in a sewage dump underground and was given the knowledge to cook a meal that turned them into said slug. Mollusk gang!
This is the _least_ of what this game is capable of. The wiki for it has a topic specifically for "Animatable Furniture." He wasn't kidding about wanting to turn that door in the beginning into the ultimate bodyguard. And you can _switch minds with it._ Why lead the invincible door when you can _become_ the invincible door?
It's a tough lesson I've recently learned myself. ALWAYS be aware of what's happening when you're looting or meditating. Sometimes, just sometimes, something will run in from the next zone over and end your entire career.
Destroyed by my own hubris could easily be Qud’s tagline. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought “Wow I’m a god!” Followed shortly after by “And now I’m dead!”
Currently running around as an Astral Tabby, Don't got wings yet so slightly annoyed by birds and other flying creatures. But I have a right hand and the Ruin of House Isner in it, so they are only slightly annoying...
After a run that made it through the entire (current) main quest line, I did not at all expect that the most powerful opponent would be.... a hendecasludge. Not even giant salt krakens strike as much terror...
This is why I always prioritize heat resistance, then cold, acid and electric. Resistances trivialise many dangerous creatures and weapons. The weathered skill and the fur mutation are great to get a headstart.
I'm here looking at how I just nabed a mod to start as a snap-jaw (I just really wanted to be a yeen when I realized they existed) got a shotgun. Current plan is to just get the ability to make ammo and meander my unskilled ass though qud. Min wiki diving has given me fun plans. But otherwise the qud antics of finding weird shit and doing em is the plan. (If the snapjaw dies I have a mod so our beloved watervine farm town exists even if I start in other places.
If you get the block skill it allows you to block one additional attack per turn per shield. Other than that it will only try once with your best shield.
ive been playing for over 500 hours and havent even seen half the things you used to make this happen.
Caves of Qud is an absolutely amazing game.
@@ziquaftynny9285no way man
That'll ruin the surprise of discovery

Sounds 'bout right
@@ziquaftynny9285 Why did you have to be rude? Many people play games without relying on a guide or a wiki.
This is why it's the greatest game of its kind. It's the Noita of turn based adventure mode rogueish games.

Funnily enough that's the topic of my latest video!
Qud has an achievement for wearing your own severed face on your face

Okay i'm taking my beguiling character to the rainbow wood, now
Sadly beguiling doesn't work because they're mindless. Only the proselytise skill works.
@@FurtherReadingTV ah discovered that! Still makes a great companion, albeit a chaotic one
I just had an epiphany
We are all, literally a slug covered in hands.
So happy to be seeing people talk more about Qud, absolutely crazy game that only insane people like me would enjoy!
Finding this channel makes me wish I could play but my pcs down. Plus I can install workshop mods into a non steam copy is the best part.
@@lechking941 how to intstall??
like US would enjoy!

This short Qud storys are great. When 1.0 finally come out I start my first real playthrough.
Hell yeah man. Wouldn't be followers of Qud if they didn't jeopardize your health and safety. Nice Qud story. Make more, please!

Bro started a cult of over powered slug monsters
"A quick bit of religious propaganda and the soup is now my ally." Brilliant.

He'll yeah caves of qud is awesome
An epic journey of a slug with lots hands.... 🤝
This is insane. I've played for 200 hours, and these are all things I never see in my games. It's insane how replayable of a game it is.
I have like 1400 hours and didnt knew you could do this.
SLUG! SLUG! SLUG! SLUG!
Digging these tales of qud!
i made one with arms/hands. i thinks the multiple shields i gave him didn't even matter. maybe. i dunno
If you get the block skill it allows you to block one additional attack per turn per shield. Other than that it will only try once with your best shield.
Wow~ That was INSANE!
What!?! You can give your companions food!?!
I think that's from the clever girl mod for extra companion actions.
Pride before the fall.
He literally visited a rainbow forest before making the death sludge.
ripperoni!
Excellent!!!
Very fun story!
lol i’ve been waiting for the day when someone died from looting during combat.
try doing an all powerful character with no companions?
Bravo! Good work!
Is that a modded start or did you brain hijack some kind of high level acid spitter?
Nope, this is all possible in vanilla.
damn
WTF did I just watch?
