my plan was somewhat similar, I started as an apostle with max wis and ego. my goal was to posses high preacher from stilt. and since I didn't want to level up that high, I had a plan where I go kill the mamon and take his prism. Why care about my character since I'm gonna abandon it tight?
So now I just had to get to lvl20 and simply posses him, simple.
But my plans changed, I found sentience spray as well, and spray it on the same door. In short I died as level 30 door against the sludges, it turns out if there is a speck if blood in soup and sludge forms, it's gonna have a live drain ability. and comfortable seep 20 hp from you. since it procs 6 times, it does 120 damage. The real problem was, is what I'm the door and 70 move speed is abysmal. so 8 sludges start draining me for 1000 hp per turn, cuz I can still get stunned or get pronned for some reason and I didn't get extra legs, this killed me so damn quick. I'm kinda angry but not really. sludges and null gels are like that, you just don't touch them.
Yeah sludges are terrifying! Most of their little arm abilities has some awful on hit effect that will ruin any melee fighter. :(

Oh man, I'm so sad I'm seeing this so late. A year or two ago I used a similar strat to become a chrome pyramid. I think I killed myself as the shapeshifter to make the domination permanent and then dug straight down under the 6 day stilt to some absurd depth to fight true nightmares that would allow me to max level without actually having to travel anywhere. Then I headed over to where the pyramids live and took one over. I don't remember the details... I think because of their level and mine the chance is very small. I think I planned to save scum or something but it happened to work on the first try.
Not-so-fun-fact: Chrome pyramids, while powerful, suck to play because they see everything in green (i think it was... maybe blue...?). The game becomes nearly unplayable.
That sounds awesome! The green is likely due to the nightvision of the pyramid, there's a colourblind mode on the debug options that turns it off.
@@FurtherReadingTV it was a blast to experiment with and achieve, but once you become that powerful there isn't much to challenge you.
If the save is uncorrupted I'm going to try that color blind trick and see if it works.

Doors can die of hunger? I thought the player could only die of thirst (and that door certainly wasn't thirsty).
I just assumed death by hunger was a thing. In this case what actually would have happened is it would keep vomiting until the earth was destroyed by the sun collapsing into a red giant. Grim.
@@FurtherReadingTV Qud works kinda weird, code-wise you have two "stomachs" one for water and one for food, whereas you also have a food and water variable for your body + stomach levels. When you get sick in Qud and throw up you lose whatever is in both stomachs as well as more water then food; meaning you lose everything you just devoured as well as more water as well as getting a short stun that is able to be shrugged off.
It's the stun that'll get slower characters.

does anyone know which button takes books from a bookshelf?
Pressing the space and the direction of the bookcase should bring up the interact menu. Then you open it and loot like a chest.
And ctrl-space plus a direction lets you select any object in that tile and bring up its interaction menu

How did you dominate Crowsong at level 1? The highest you can roll on your dominate attempt is 14, with max starting ego and 8 on the 1d8. That's vs Crowsong's level plus MA, which totals 30. No roll should result in a successful dominate no matter how many attempts. It would seem you would need a combination of 16 more levels and/or ego modifier to have a chance at success on a perfect roll.
I didn't do it at level 1. I played the game normally looking for one of the ways to make a door sentient, by the time I found the nano neuro animator blueprint I had levelled up a bunch.

Imagine in 30 years we would have games like this, but in 3d with smart AI that would react to shit happening around them. To some degree it's already possible to make basic demo, something like goat simulator but with LLM, but I would say it need good decade to be more than that.
