Did a little goofing and wished myself a bunch of mutation points (about 400) and chimera. I spent HOURS save scumming and eater reseeding to craft the ultimate being in terms of body parts. Deleted all mutations and chimera and set out. Got surrounded by some acid slugs pretty early on and stunned. Melted. Suffice to say i will never waste that much time in classic mode again. 🤣
@@Just_lift_anyone the game uses a set rng for things like bought mutations and grown parts. Taking an eaters tonic will change the seed being used (reseed) and allow for a different option to appear.
@@Rogue_Rat Alright, I'm a fan. Subbed. I'm probably getting this game for either Christmas or my birthday in spring. I can't wait to try all sorts of wacky character builds and get into all kinds of trouble.
New sub here. I really appreciate how you explain everything as you encounter and do things. It helps digest the enormity of this game. I used to play brogue awhile ago, and T.O.M.E this looks fun and watching these is helping me understand before i even have the game. Thank you!
Just curious, what has been y’all’s biggest run killers? For me it’s been Psychic masters; they will pop up with their crew like a trainer hunting a new Pokemon, and let me tell you they catch me every single time. Live and drink? No, die and serve.
Hmm, so it depends on how long the run has been going - early game its slugsnouts, mid-game its rymwicks and late game it's galgals. Also Evil Twins. It's funny how Chrome pyramids have this reputation of being the hardest enemy, but chrome pyramids are so easy to kill as long as you have EMP mk3 grenades. Galgals are just lethal.
Hey I’m lucky to have found your channel. The way you explain things as you go is very helpful to understand the game (and entertaining). Thank you! live and drink
If you don't think light manipulation is good i think you never powereleveled it. That's how strong i think it is. It's one of those things that can kill everything in the game with a few exceptions without effort but you need to hyperfocus it and some enemies are immune or will never die to it because of high stats. The other distadvante is of course some encounters last long because of sheer number of enemies and you will run out. Most mental mutations suffer from this but this one is not affected by willpower. Probably one of those mental mutations that get the most out of two-headed because it works with itself and not paired with a third mutation. It's not quite giant hands akimbo damage but it fills a similiar role. Would have still taken precog myself :^)
I have powerleveled it a few times on my Twitch streams - the problem with it is that it's super OP at the start, and has unlimited range etc but by the end game when you're dealing with robots and stuff, they all have some kind of reflective shielding that prevents all damage. Still think it's great early game, but I'd never willingly take it - I'm glad you enjoy it though dude! That's the great thing about Qud: we all have our own ways to play :)
Nice i like this reasoning. I still think its very good for fleshy enemies in the late game. There is a few enemies which can be EMPd to be harmed by this but in general you want something else to deal with the big baddies of endgame.
My favorite Runs are Ghostly, I always use phase and new change made it work perminat best I can tell, long as you focus and active the phase as it expires, it refshes no cooldown.
What are the chances, today i wanted to start again Qud after so long, and as an esper no less. Saw all your tutorial vids, and youtube showed me you were streaming this today. 10/10 insta subbed
Do you have any mods installed here? Or is it a setting to have the colors change with the day and night cycle? I also noticed your damage numbers are a bit different
Very happy to see a new Qud season :) Looking forward for more. Quick question... In your opinion When is the right moment to start loading off books at the Stilt? I usually hoard them until late game but I'm curious of other players approaches
Thanks! I think giving them in late game is the play 9 times out of 10. I don't mind handing in little batches early if you need a boost (especially with an Esper in the early-midgame)
is there any tilesets/spritepacks that upgrades this games graphics to something a little more modern? the UI is fine but like with cataclysm dark days ahead i really like custom tilesets that add a little more detail.
Not as far as I know, I think there used to be a Chesthole tileset a few years back. Tilesets are totally subjective of course, but I think Qud has an amazing tileset and anything else wouldn't suit the vibe. The sprites are all 16x24 which is very tiny - it'd be hard to come up with anything of a similar size that looked good. It also using a 2 colour system with the background colour, so you only have a total of 3 colours to use.
How does your game move so fast? Like when you auto explore, your character moves around a lot faster than mine. Is it just a performance thing? I am playing on a bit of a potato.
That’s so weird, I just started a semi esper build today and I never play esper. Interested to see how you build it mid game. Is there a way to keep your temporal fugue clones from killing you with grenades/guns?
Hope your run goes well! as for the fugue clones killing you. No, the only thing you can do is unequip your weapon, but I don't recommend it as it's tedious. Just try to stay behind them is your best bet.
I got domination, found legendary scribe, made 3 clones of him, dominated each and stole their books, repeated and was 43 lvl without even killing a mob

What is “eater reseeding” ?

"I really don't wanna be here right now" has to be something every qud player has said. Lol😂❤
that’s probably the nicest procedural village i’ve ever seen honestly
I know, right?! So clean!
I was worried about picking qud back up because of remembering hotkeys and stuff. Now you can actually click on things. Amazing!
Yeah with keyboard and mouse is very easy
You can precog the village quest rewards in case you didn't know. If you're patient enough you can pretty much get what you want.
I wasn't sure if that had been patched or not! Great in theory, but not great for a Qud video hehe

those xp numbers are scary, btw absolutely love this type of esper
I call it 'migraine man'
I love how much Caves of Qud reminds me of aspects of Gamma World.
Thanks for sharing the story.
That was the game they explicitly used to inspire this game

You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this 😂
Thanks, I hope you enjoy the series :)

Thank you mate! Live and Drink!
Yayayay! Excited for season three! He who dares, win!

Im new to the game so i wondered, how did he spawn in with so much currency? 256 is wayy more than what i got when i made my first world.

Daily 5PM GMT, but will probably move to weekdays only from next week onwards.

So what version of Qud are you using for this? Beta, just regular Stable?
Regular stable now that the update is on that branch
nice

There's an auto-explore option under 'automation' in the settings :)

Remove your thrown weapon before popping temporal fugue, also ranged weapons if needed
