- Please donate and volunteer if you’re able. Western NC is all torn up. My family is safe now but we had no clue who was alright for days. Don’t know what’s left standing or what houses aren’t washed away. History’s being swept away infront of us all.
beautiful ❤️
Gorgeous version of Darlin Corey!!
I hope yall keep doin well. Storm was too much
So talented. Love this!
Thank you’
You are delight after a rough day.
Holy-smoke, what a beautiful performance ❤
The voice and the strings perfectly compliment each other in this one
Thanks!
Very cool, felt like the song was about me
You have a beautiful voice!
Beautifully done, Murphy. I'm deeply saddened by what's happening in NC. Since that is the state my ancestry is from for a long time, it really cuts deep. Praying for y'all!
Very nice job
Great work as always lady, I look forward to your notifications popping up lol
Another absolute banger! Would you please consider doing something with a cigar box guitar? I think it would suit you really well❤️🙏
Nice lighting!
get it sister
That was fuckin sick. Hope you’re okay out there.
Thank you :-(
My section of Florida got fucked up too, I'm glad that you guys are ok
Lovely :)

I needed to add this separately. I was struck by your response in our last conversation about accents. I tried to place your accent in my mind, and seeing that you're from Western North Carolina pleases me that I was pretty much right. Anyway, I think that so many arrogant folks have the same opinion of your phonemics and syntax that they do about AAVE. They think it's people trying to use standard English and failing. It most certainly is not. Each one has its own consistent logic and internal symmetry. P. S. I've donated at my local Wal-Mart.
That’s great! Thanks for donating. I agree. I was able to raise nearly 400 dollars at a show on Saturday for my extended family, to help them repair and fix what they could and share with their community. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done with my music I think.
I'd letchu fetch my slippers aint no doubt
Brava, Murphy! There are so many crappy versions of this song floating around the internet, it's a pleasure to hear your interpretation. Love the dark background -- or was that an effect of the hurricane? If so, I'm sorry. "History's being swept away in front of us all." In more contexts than one, perceptive woman -- in more ways that one.
This is my personal favorite Appalachian song - but you’re right - there’s so many versions of it that are not true to its spirit. My favorite version is the Doc Watson Family take.
Doc Watson is always classic. Something fascinating: Back in 1970s New Jersey, I heard an amateur band do "Darlin' Corey." The lead vocalist was about 13 years old. But I've never forgotten her stunning emotional rendition.
